Several years ago, around this time of year, I passed a mechanic shop whose sign read, "We have pumpkin spice motor oil."
I was a couple counties away from my home, and that sign put me in such a good mood, I smiled all the way home.

The real problem is that "Pumpkin Spice" and "Pumpkin Pie Spice" are the actual names for a spice mix generally used in making pumpkin (that you add separately) baked goods. Most of these products used only that spice blend flavors - NOT the pumpkin flavor! As a consumer, you don't know which has pumpkin flavor added, and which doesn't! I wish they would designate the products that have both as "Pumpkin AND Spice," to make it easier for those of us who want pumpkin!!!

If you bake, just add a little cinnamon and nutmeg to a regular gingersnap recipe - oila! Pumpkin spice cookies!

Pumpkin Spice isn’t supposed to taste like pumpkin. It’s just supposed to be the spices that go in a pumpkin pie. You need pumpkin pie flavored or just pumpkin flavored foods.
I tried the pumpkin Special K and found it had a good pumpkin spice flavor. I love the Dannon Light and Fit yogurt. Most things advertised as pumpkin spice are just that, the spices used for pumpkin pie not actual pumpkin. My favorite pumpkin treat is a Starbucks Chai Latte with one pump of pumpkin added. The spices all blend together either hot or cold,

The key word is " spice " not pumpkin. Which is cinnamon, nutmeg clove and sometime ginger to make pumpkin SPICE .
I am a pour the milk first and then little cereal at a time so it stays crunchy, NOT bread heel eating, and thick eggnog drinking (southern comfort brand, no its not alcoholic) kind of person.

I always thought 'pumpkin spice' just meant the spices used in pumpkin pie. Generally, no pumpkin. Just the spices.

Homemade pumpkin bars are THE best! Always had to make 2 batches as my 4 boys had them gone as I pulled out the 2nd batch from the oven!! No time for cream cheese frosting one first batch!! ❤️

@FrugalFitMom - In my opinion, the easiest and best pumpkin spice bars are literally made with 1) 15 oz can of plain pumpkin and one Spice cake mix. Mix them together and bake them at 350 in a greased 9x13 cake pan for about 20 minutes. After cold ice them with some cream cheese frosting. Voila! So good and so easy to take with you to any gathering.

I eat my cereal the same way. A big bowl of milk and one little handful of cereal at a time so it stays crunchy.
I love Star Crunch and can't find them in my area :(. The Trader Joe's petite pumpkin spice cookies made with shortbread and yogurt coating are pretty good. Just tried them this week.

Yeah egg nog! But I prefer the AE brand. I definitely believe that homemade or adding to a box mix to make it more homemade like is always the way to go.

I've never been a huge fan of pumpkin spice flavored things. I will say, tho, that Sam's Club has the best pumpkin pies. I gave up making my own because I like them so much. And, they are GIANT and cost like, $6. You can't buy the ingredients to make your own that cheap!

How to consume pumpkin spice...... throw it in the trash it's so nasty I don't understand the appeal
Pumpkin spice is a mixture of multiple things I don't like. I enjoy cinnamon in its powdered or stick form (artificial cinnamon flavor is nasty), am trying to like clove (for its potent health benefits), and I very much prefer ginger in its raw form (dislike powdered form). Just tried nutmeg the other day since I am not familiar with the spice, not a fan either.
Pumpkin filling used in pumpkin pie/bread/pastries/etc? Those, I like.
