  • In this episode of Newshour with Navika Kumar, we are joined by former India coach Ravi Shastri for an exclusive conversation. 'It is not easy to win a World Cup. Even a player like Sachin Tendulkar had to go through six world cups to win one...' Shastri tells Navika Kumar. When asked, 'What did the 2024 T20 World Cup title mean to you?', he replied, 'It meant a lot because I was part of that team for about 6 to 7 years, and even when I left the team, I told them you are too good a team to not lift it...' What else did he say? Watch the video to know!

    Everybody is talking about Kohli's knock in final, but credit must b given to Axar's attacking batting in that phase where Kohli was struggling with his timing.

    • @androidgamer9290
      @androidgamer9290 21 день назад +5

      yeah he was batting massively hard aggressively otherwise these runs would been nothing

    • @ankitsaluja7530
      @ankitsaluja7530 20 дней назад +2

      He wasn't struggling with timing.. He got off to a great start 14 off 5 but that 3 wickets derailed India progress & he had to slow down otherwise indi wouldn't have scored 150. He could have easily scored 35-40 runs off 18-20 balls & got out but he changed his plan as he batted through for a longer period from one end to ensure no further damage happens.

      @@ankitsaluja7530yes comment is saying axar knock allowed kohli to play that inning

    • @PremSagarS
      @PremSagarS 20 дней назад

      Axar played that way because there was Kohli on the other side, on a big final if all the big wickets were lost, we would have not reached 150. Having a big experienced player like Kohli on the other side adds to the confidence. And Kohli ensured he stays till the point where he feels we can comfortably get a decent score. It's the greatest knock in a final we will take years to actually realise how good a knock that is

    Ravi Shastri was one of the reasons why India did not win a World Cup. He was the handpicked coach by Kohli after Kumble was sacked. This bombastic guy who called the Indian cricket team the greatest ever did nothing to foster good dressing room culture, camaraderie and team spirit. Players like Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Pujara, Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar were dropped from the side at their prime and in full form for that format of cricket. All these facts will come out later. Check out Kuldeep Yadav comeback after Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma have taken over. The Indian Cricket Team is playing as a team. It has taken 2 years to win a WC but the team spirit is evident.

      Its because you didnt see his best times as a player. He had serious knee injury which he could not recover from. He was anchoring one end as an opener when wickets were falling on other end as pile of cards. All his worst performances came during those times after injury. He was almost done by then as a player. Definitley a sharp cricketing mind.
