Why Nancy Grace won't use the name Daybell when it comes to Lori Vallow

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Nancy Grace spent almost a decade as a special prosecutor for the Atlanta-Fulton County District Attorney’s office in Georgia before becoming a legal commentator on television.
Since then, Grace has hosted her own programs, written books, produced television specials and shared her legal knowledge across the country. She was at CrimeCon in Las Vegas over the weekend where she presented and met fans.
Grace spoke with EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton about cases that have stuck out the most to her, why she refuses to use the name Daybell when it comes to Lori Vallow and how people can protect themselves from becoming a victim.

As always, great interview Nate! Nancy’s tip to stay vigilant was not corny, but a great reminder.
And she wanted to be called Mrs. Daybell instead of Miss Daybell. The attorney said OK, but then called her Miss Daybell about a hundred times.
I get doing the opposite of what Lori wants, but Lori is not deserving of the Vallow name.
I agree. At this point, if Charles Vallow could still chime in, I don't think he'd want Lori using his last name.

@@punky19761 I hadn't thought of that! How painful this has been for them. Her using Vallow would be like salt in their wounds. Regretably Lori not Chad will ever truly appreciate the horror of what they have done and the suffering they caused. As for her maiden name? The Cox parents haven't been showing up to support their daughter that killed their golden goose, Charles, as he was providing financial support to the Cox family. In court she should be called Lori Cox Daybell so that their family name is continually associated with the horror they spawned.
That has been my take but I see her point and as cunning as she is, I can guarantee Lori is up to something in using the name and her wanting the trial together.

This is why the media needs to be banned from reporting on any criminal open case until the accused is convicted in a court pf law by IMPARTIAL jury members..
Unless you are tbe jury or the judge, you don't have the privlidge of calling her guilty! She's innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Ada county Idaho is to be tbe Jury pool. She deserves an impartial jury like any one else. I live in Ada County, in Idaho. So if I'm chosen as a jury member not even I can truthfully sit on her jury ad the media has spoon fed me so damn much on her. I wish I did not pay any attention. But I did so not even I can sit on her jury.
Nate, you made a complicated case so much easier to follow so I thank you for that....and for keeping on the Daybells tail as they were trying to evade the Police. Great interview. The advice that Nancy said is so true. About 4 yrs ago I was at our city bus building. I went to the rest room. N when I came out this girl blocked me in. N she hit me n I hit a wall. I could not move cause there was no way out . I called 911 . she tried to get my phone. N the phone went dead. 911 called me back . thats the only that saved me. Even thou the building was full of people. No one got to help me. N even thou the police station is just across the street. It took the police 30 mins to get there. It took me 4 yrs to regain my confidence. I still look over my shoulder. N. Im very aware of where im

I used to work at a bookstore in Atlanta and she would come in with her twins and she was always so down to earth and the complete opposite of her on-air persona.
I always thought Lori would go against Chad. I assumed that she would play victim and blame everything on Chad. That’s not what happened. She is using his last name and showing the world that she still loves him. I just can’t wrap my head around this evil woman.
I believe Lori would have killed Chad and kept rule over their little cult, receiving messages from beyond the veil via a portal, and picked up his life insurance check too. Lori is the driver. Chad was the willing chump.
I think Chad was wanting to distance himself from her now. But it's a little to late for that....nonetheless they will both finish their journeys in jail....

I think she’s using his last name for exactly the reason you stated in your first sentence. She doesn’t want to distance herself from him because she wants to pin the entire thing on him and play the obedient, oblivious wife who just believed everything that Chad told her.

A lot of people don't like Nancy, but she is pretty funny. I forgot how entertaining she is.
I love watching Nancy Grace. She can be rough around the edges, but she knows her stuff. And she cares about the victims.

I so agree with Nancy on this. I refuse to call her "Daybell" as well. She hanging onto the "romance" of her relationship with Chad, when it's been a horror show.

There is a fine line between vigilant and fear. It's hard! I'm pretty vigilant but in the last I've allowed myself to be fearful; grateful I'm not in that mindset anymore!
And to be honest, I want to live in a world where the police are vigilant and good people going about their day don't have to consider what the bad people MIGHT do to them.

Just truly a hard working tough on crime mom and wife , giant hearted soul!! I love Nancy Grace. Takes no bull and demands justice. That's the way it should be. She covered a case from Florida years ago and I've always wondered what happened. Young mom at home with young daughter while dad works late shift. Young daughter went missing. They lived in a mobile home. I think mom said she stayed home that evening and only sat on front porch and maybe drank wine with family member. She said child went to bed but when dad gets home daughter is missing. I think there was some drug use, maybe smoked pot. I'd love to talk to Nancy and see if anything ever happened in that case. I remember her talking about and she did get dad to talk to her on her show. There are some cases that haunt you for ever.

I think about Haleigh all the time. That beautiful little girl. She would be 15 now. I think of her brother Ronald Cummings Jr. What he must feel and the baggage of trying to remember who took her. 😔
An advocate for victims?!!! Are you kidding me? She is a victim's worst enemy! An eternal prosecutor who is not all for justice & a fully informed jury & finding truth in a case but all for revenge. Has always turned my stomach!

Your interviews are always the best!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Have always loved Nancy Grace! Some people think she’s harsh or brash, but if I ever go missing or am murdered, I want her on the case! She is like a dog with a bone & will not give up! She doesn’t flinch in the face of these criminals. She is amazing!! I remember her from her cable news show when she found out a family was keeping their children in animal crates with shock collars on!😳The children were extremely underdeveloped from being held captive & starved! If the children cried, the parents would zap them with the shock collar!😭 Those people didn’t deserve those kids. She went off on those people with everything she had. She is a champion for those who are abused, missing, murdered, & those who cannot speak for themselves! She helps solve these cases by bringing attention to them, as well as being involved with law enforcement to examine the details of the cases.👍🏻
