Great breakdown on the different options. Iron will is now making the Snyder core system which looks like the strongest system for 4mm if you don't mind being dedicated to iron will heads. I'm still shooting the titanium half outs on my axis but plan to switch to the Snyder core if I draw a tag.

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors

Id agree, the Snyder core seems like the strongest option. I shot a buck with one of these quartering away at 22 yards, it was devastating...

Thank you for this video because I was thinking Id have to go to the titanium outserts. Ill for sure check out iron will for the next dozen before TAC colorado.. Hopefully I come home with the majority of them...

Dude!! Awesome video, you hit everything about this arrow I've been looking for. Question, other than the Easton 5mm do you have data of how it stacks up against other arrows of say a different brand, specifically total arrow weight, trajectory? Im in between a few brands at the moment, want to go with Easton because, made in America, but in my spine 10.7 gr is a bit on the heavy side.

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors

Thanks Im glad it was helpful., I like the Victory VAPS they finally came out with a heavier spine for us guys who shoot 80lb bows. I got the 235 spine vaps and they are fricken sweet man, I should make a video on those. they are Chinese made I think which sucks and I love me some Easton.... they were lighter and I had them cut shorter too which helped a lot.

Awesome video, I have been shooting 4mm diameter arrows (carbon injection from Easton, Axis 4mm replaced them this year which is sad) since the day I picked up my bow.
So here are my 2 cents:
the Easton deepsix insert: haven't really failed me, however I have lost inserts and field points on targets because they were glued incorrectly or the glue was not strong enough to hold the insert glued
Easton Ti outsert: they do the job, but I have found Ti is too smooth for the glue to really hold and get a nice bond onto the carbon so I was not really happy, plus super expensive as you mentioned.
Iron Will: same components as deepsix just heavier, the collars are a most in my opinion since if your fieldpoint/broadhead has a little gap between the farrow and the carbon, the arrows will broom, the collar prevents this issue.
Another component I have used and currently using is the DaySix insert+outsert (they add about 1" in lenght to your arrow just like the Easton halfout), man those things are super strong. I shoot a lot of unmarked 3D and I have shot them into rocks and steel by accident and they have not disappointed me.

I just ordered the Rx7 in 80lb with 30” draw length and am now looking to match an arrow to it to maintain around 295fps, but no more than 300fps. Essentially I want the maximum weight I can get to hover at that speed. Did you say that one of those 4mm Axis has a 50 grain IW insert and a 125 head, and weighs 490ish grains? If so do mind sharing the exact components on that arrow? Wrap, vanes, nock (lighted or not?), insert, tip, collar etc. Thanks in advance.

My hunting setup ended being 491 grains. Im a 29" draw. I used 50 grain hiit insert and a 100 grain broadhead. With 25 grain shock collar. I too have an 80lb bow and was getting 287 fps.

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors i use the stock ones....I don't get crazy with foc weight which weakens the arrow..I always say, before all this crazy heavy FOC stuff what did we kill with? Are women and teenagers killing elk with magic since they are not shooting 85lbs with 700 grain arrows at 120 yards? I kill animals with axis arrows with 100 to 125 grain broadheads. For all my arrows I want accuracy, penetration and forgiveness. Most heavy arrows drop like crazy. I refuse long shots. I will work on getting closer before I take a shot.
