Adult leaguer here - never took the time to learn the 10 n 2 as most adult players don’t. At least when I started 15 years ago. I finally spent time getting decent at then and HOLY COW. Those mechanics are SOOOO useful in soooo many situations. My balance has also gotten significantly better. I’m loving it. This is a great video and in many ways validates what I’ve intuitively have done on my own, un-coached. Thanks Jason!

Agree, it's such a great technique to have available. We used to practice this during public skating ever since I was young, and I still take time to practice this every time I'm on the ice at age 47 today as especially the weak side continuously needs work for anything more open than 10 - 2.

Just what we have always used in our videos @ Train 2.0. We don't focus on the name so much but rather having a name for different movement mechanics, gives us the opportunity to teach and explain.

Can you break down Connor McDavid's or any NHLers crossover starts? My crossover starts are too "unexplosive" and I lose balance.

Check out our McDavid content on our website. If you sign up, send your crossover start to our private Facebook group where myself and other Train 2.0 coaches can take a look and help you correct that this off season.
