    I wish I could do what you do. I have studied WW2 for years, but it's mainly the stuff you can read in a book or see on the TV. You never hear or see stuff like you bring us. It gives you a massive incite into the life of an everyday soldier. Your dedication to bringing us these wonderful videos is second to none. Thank you, and the team, for all the hard work you put into everything. Keep up the good work my friend.

    At 10:29 that is a roll of "Feld kabel"(?), field telephone cable, 500 metre Deployable drum Roll. You can tell it is field deployed telephone cable because the centre of the drum is designed to go on a square section axle that is fitted in a frame and a crank handle put on the end so it can be unrolled and rolled back in.

    Extremely clever of the Germans to install a 28 cm gun position there. Definitely woud not be suspected by the allies. Would have been interesting to see the original German solidier's Barrack where Hans, Karl, and Reinhardt exchanged personal stories, a few Biers and maybe some card games. It was a sweet spot for the German soldiers to take a dip in the water and feel fairly secure and safely hidden. Thank you for taking us inside of the bomb shelter room. Just imagine the time spent blasting our the tunnel in the rock mountainside. EE (Hans) did an excellent job defending the site. Looking forward to your adventure of the German stronghold at a bridgehead. Thank you HH and EE for taking us to that secret location.

    These are very good finds, your research is amazing. My dad was an American Army Sargent that stormed the beaches at Normandy, he was injured, patched up and continued to lead his men to Saint Lo where his next battle injuries sent him back to England for medical surgery. He never spoke of what he saw or did, but others that were with him in the 29th Division did. The told of my dad being the best man on the battlefield. I don't have any money to give you, I wish I did, my medical bills drain me each month, you do such good work. Between what I've learned from all the veterans I've found and your research, I am getting a clearer picture. Keep up the great work. One question I have, is you say there were no trees in that location. If there were, I assume they would have had to clear the area first, OR did they only partially clear areas & use the trees as cover ? Good that you are able to build good memories with your children whilst doing these videos. Keep safe and well.

    Another amazing site you've pulled out of the depths of the archival abyss! That valley overlook across the river looks like a perfect site to set up a chair and easel, just as another excuse to observe nature as it reclaims another human intrusion. One must wonder what is sealed inside those blocked caves though; if there's anything of significance that remains, or if it's just too unstable in places for anyone to enter anymore.

    That was something to see the drone shots showing the outline of the tracks and gun position. Yes, you were absolutely right there was a well hidden German WW2 secret. Hard to imagine the 28cm gun able to accurately accurately hit a vessel on the Atlantic shore from that location. What technology. Would be extremely interesting to read the spie's diary. You lucked out. Thanks for the photos and diagrams so we can get a more accurate idea. Also thanks for taking us inside the dug out tunnel and bomb shelter room. There must be many such forgotten sites scattered up and down the Atlantic Wall, and we are so lucky to have the History Hunter Team to research, find and share them. What a great educator you are, I am always excited to learn what you have to teach us about these locations. It is just incredible what the Germans did in terms of building and taking advantage of the terrain for offensive and defensive purposes. That spool of wire you found in the "cave" reminded me of communication cable for field phones that we had in the US Army. The barbed wire that EE spotted near some trenches was in great shape, it did not look very rusty. Thanks for showing us this area! Another amazing lesson!! Stay safe and stay well!!

    • @WW2HistoryHunter
      @WW2HistoryHunter  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Donald for the kind words. i think the spool could be telephone cable or something. We did spot a couple others laying around in the terrain but they were empty. Barbed wire was in very good condition and overall a very clean and interesting place that was. EE did so good and so proud of him. Thank you so much for your incredible support and be safe out there :)

    This is a location you won’t see on any other channel. The rail guns were a good idea for concealing the guns and moving them around. If the Germans had used more mobile artillery, the war may have turn out differently. If you hadn’t pointed out many of the features here, you probably wouldn’t know they were there. You do a lot of work to find these forgotten locations.
