Don't forget, all those screws are straight screws, no Phillips at that time. That mechanical screwdriver is very interesting. I'd love one of these kitchens for the restoration of my 1939 house, even though it would have been outdated by the time the house was built.
All this probably developed in the late 1920's ready for the 1930's but then the depression came, When ww2 began in 1941 all steel was needed for war effort. GE prebuilt kitchens did return in the 1950's.

Pretty amazing kitchen for back then, especially compared to the way older kitchens were depicted in 40s and 50s modern kitchen upgrades videos.

Those workmen back then were neat and clean cut. Not at all like a lot of the slobs with plumber crack hanging out you see today LOL!!
