Coming into a very stressful week with my mom having surgery Wednesday, so this vlog has made my day. Always a breathe of fresh air from the hustle of day to day life. There are certain moments and times in your life, home, clothing, etc. you can explore the art of minimalism. You dont’t have to be an all rounder complete minimalist. We are all diffrent and can experement at times to learn more of ourself, which in turn helps guides you to evolve and see yourself. Nothing is set in stone have fun and explore yourselves. but you know yourself which is amazing to see.
Will this be the first year where I watch the intro every. single. time. with complete attention?? I think so :) :) I have so many favorite parts but the two of you dancing and canoodling at the end just makes me teary

I had to chuckle with the reflections about minimalism. Our house is a complete mess of 70s,80s,90s “decor” & stuff but it’s our home. Who can say to another how to live our lives? We have one life. Why not spend time living and enjoying each moment in the way that we want without judging others? I love your videos because I love your outlook to life.

What would your top tip be for creating interiors like yours if you only have the ability to control your personal space (bedroom) and limited control of the communal spaces? I live in a home that’s shared with other people, but my dream forever has been to have a home that’s designed like yours 😍 your preferred aesthetic is just so beautiful but I don’t know where to start. What do you think is most effective to begin with? I’ve already got the color on the walls, but everything else isn’t quite right.

Lydia, I’m very much like you. I just haven’t got it in me to be a minimalist. I also like things to be aesthetically pleasing. If something is in an ugly container I decant it into something else. I’ve been like that all my life. Having said that I think we are all a bit more mindful of our homes and surroundings. Great vlog. Love the little tutorial at the beginning. This years festive installation is absolutely stunning, and what a clever idea to have a living garland above your fireplace. You have a large home with large rooms, yet it looks so cosy! 😍🥰
I made my own wreaths, fireplace and stair garlands a couple of years ago, and after Christmas they are packed away very carefully with the decorations still on them so it saves me time the following year! 😅

I know it’s a lot of planning and prep but your vlogmas content is so special. Thank you for bringing Christmas sparkle into our home. We only put the tree up and start watching Christmas movies after my daughter’s birthday. In South Africa we have planned daily load-shedding (no electricity) at least 4 hours a day so your energy is a very welcomed distraction.

Your vignette over the fireplace looks beautiful but how are you going to keep the plants alive if you want to light the fire? They won't survive with the heat from the fire so close.
