Looks great. Bonus points for the fire extinguisher AND sign pointing to it. Consider placing another extinguisher by the door coming from the living space. I don't currently own an Aprilia but hope to in the near future. Your detailed how-to videos are awesome. Thanks for taking the time to put them together.
Thank you! Glad you’re finding them useful. Also, the extinguisher you’re referencing is next to the door entering the living space from the garage. Another one on the patio by the grill and another in the hallway closet adjacent to the kitchen. I do like some cheap fire insurance!
Many thanks for the great instructional video! I just wrapped my Tuareg and could not have done it without the help of this video! - DirtyBones from ADVRider.
Wow, looks great! I hadn't even considered new decals for mine, but now you've got me pondering. Those gasnroll designs are nice. Thanks for sharing Ran.
Awesome video. I'm not doing it to my tuareg but it looks great all the same. Bonus for me was seeing that bashplate in all its glory from lots of angles. yes it's expensive but I think I need one, Most look homemade.
I was just about to make a video short about the skid plate. I had a huge rock strike to the plate a couple rides ago, it would have been the kiss of death for most skid plates I’ve seen. It did its job and it’s still rideable and I’ll take it off to repair it later this week.
Bro... after viewing a couple of your videos, I have made the following conclusions.1) You likely don't have kids, and therefore have the time to maintain an impeccably clean garage free of tricycles, skateboards and BMX bikes covered in mud. 2) Your moniker is an ironic nod to the fact that you're far from lazy but rather a fastidious and thorough perfectionist who enjoys doing things right. I really appreciate this video and the helpful tips it provides if I ever attempt a similar project. Nicely done.
It’s tip of the hat to the common joke that pilots never work 😁. I have two kids under 6, and their toys haven’t out amassed my toys YET. Thanks for watching, I’ll be putting more content out this fall as I get settled into my new permanent surroundings in Arizona. Cheers!
Ran, I really like the gas roll product. I actually looked at purchasing them this weekend and in their list of countries, the US wasn’t listed. I have emailed them, but was curious if you had a similar issue.
I emailed them to with my home address and they had zero issues getting me a quote for the freight charge and shipping was FAST. I ordered the graphics kit with custom changes so it took them about a week to print before they went to shipping.
@@lazy-pilot Thanks for the quick response. I did email them so hopefully they will get to me soon and I will be ordering them. You video really helped...
Wow! Completely transforms the bike! Subjective of course, but I think the Tuareg in its stock form is fairly fugly, but that looks amazing. Nice work!
I think most adventure bikes are a lovable fugly. Their designs value function over form, which is a pleasant change of pace. For example, the subframe covers on the Tuareg are fairly minimalist and I really prefer it over bulky side panels.
I've previously used lightly soapy water to spray on the target surface which allows you to more easily position/move around the decal and squeegee out any bubbles. Admittedly this was with applying 3M clear protection film, so maybe that's different with these decals.
Soapy water would have been a good backup for me. I was just very pleased with the RapidTac, just the right amount of adhesive while remaining movable/fixable. These graphics were thick vinyl and a bit more cumbersome, it required patience and a lot of continuous low heat.
The high (height) comfort seat from Aprilia. I really like the comfort seat, especially for rides over 2 hours. It’s not as plush initially as the OEM seat but it provides better support and comfort over longer periods; no hot spots. The seat is about 3/4 inch higher and compresses less so I sit about an inch higher, which is great for my long legs. The only downside is that I had to add a windscreen spoiler because sitting higher put my helmet peak (sun visor) into the airstream. And my Arai XD-4 has a notoriously turbulent sun visor. The touring windscreen provides wider wind protection and now coupled with a spoiler provides great protection for the crappy aerodynamics of my helmet. I hope this helps.
It’s the HI-Comfort seat from Aprilia. It’s a comfortable step above the factory seat. I thought the factory seat is really nice compared to the competition and was quite comfortable for the first hour of riding. The HI-Comfort seat isn’t as plush but feels good during the first hour and the extra support really helps AFTER the first hour for those long rides in the saddle. It’s 3/4 inches (18mm) higher than factory seat but you sit about a full 1 inch (25mm) higher than the factory seat because it doesn’t compress as much. Also, although the seat is all-black, it doesn’t burn your butt quite like the factory vinyl after sitting in the sun. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Hi Ran, how do you like the HIGH seat? I have not found any vid where they compare standard vs high seat. Is it any better regarding legs space for you? Do you still flat or n your feet?
I do like it. And I do notice that the combination of a higher seat and lower pegs has given me more comfort through the knees; I installed them at about the same time. I’m still flat footed when stopped, but I’m a tall rider so that was expected but it’s now much closer to ideal. Once I complete my rear spring replacement for my rider weight I expect the sag will be appropriate and I’ll have my ideal seat height. I need more long rides to give the saddle comfort a fair review. I’ve only ridden about 2 hours continuous on the comfort seat. The factory seat is more cushy and comfortable initially but I think the comfort seat has big advantages for longer rides. I also appreciate that it is a bit more firm under me during off-road riding, it seems to give me a little better feedback.
Ha ha, NO! I can’t tell if you’re being serious but I’ll still explain. The GPMucci THOR skidplate comes in Red, Black, or bare aluminum. I chose red for extra road visibility. If I didn’t have to share the pavement with idiots I would have a completely blacked-out motorcycle. Black is a really easy color to miss on the road so I have to pick my poison and the red has really grown on me.

Very gratifying work for sure.
Very nice look. I will present my transformation XR650L soon with graphic kit too.
Super nice look excellent video as well. Thanks for your time and effort, it looks great

What seat did you install? The higher comfort seat? Is it comfortable?
Great looking Tuareg!!

Can you please let me know how you got those delivered to USA ? Their site doesn't have that option

Thanks for the insides. What Guard and Engine Cove plate do you use?
Hepco&Becker engine guard. And a GP Mucci THOR skid plate. Love them both!
Lookin great👌👌👌
Thank you!
