Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: I love those colors! The vermillion, tangerine, and sunset gold banded together around pockets of watery quartz. So beautiful!
Those were just fantastic teepee canyons! That big one was just insane! So beautiful! And OMG, if it's iris! I would absolutely flip out! And Alexis did really well! All three of her finds were really good! Just an awesome trip over all! Thanks Theo, and Alexis!❤
Those 🧻 agates are super cool! Never seen one before in person. Very surprised to see no snow on the ground this time of year. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Fun trip to TeePee Canyon! Dissolving the calcite made such an amazing difference and I love those boys in those pieces ❤ almost iris😮 dude, those are all fantastic pieces! Thanks for sharing.
I would absolutely be happy for quiet a while finding those! But I would see another rock and get all excited again lol. Love that you share such fantastic finds!
Cool finds. I live in S.D. At 10:56 in the video, above your right thumb, that little plant looking thing on the limestone is called dendritic limestone. There are pieces at Teepee with that all over the limestone and quite collectible.
I'm glad you got a taste of a cool teepee nodule. If you could only see what we have pulled out of there. I have tons nodules. Some the size of basket balls I just don't have a saw to cut them.
You and Alexis hit the jackpot with those TeePees! I can't believe the lack of snow in SD for this time of year, but MN is no better. Dry as a bone here. Happy hunting, everyone!
What a great stop. You both found some great pieces. The one your on the fence about to cut, you should cut, cut, cut. It will be amazing. I love the jaspers too. I'm partial to jaspers, they are my friends.Keep having fun and I hope she made it to the book club.
Some of those look like Crazy Lace Agates. Keep up the good work.. ThePiece that got Bigger does have the look of an Iris agate.. The Chatoyancy showed on the lower right-hand corner. Hope it shows Iris when you polish it..
I’ve spent lots of time out in Tepee. That’s a wicked tepee! I have a few spots around the commercial pits area that have produces some nice nodules. Found a spot for hills agates too.
I think that big one is the nicest Teepee Canyon I've ever seen. Definitely a museum quality piece compared to the rest of them. I have a few small pieces, but none anywhere near what you found in your "20" minute collecting side trip. Very nice and congrats.
At 20:30 it looks like Donkey Kong! or King Kong or some other Gorilla with the death stare look lol Or that rock guy from that movie The Never Ending Story named Pyornkrachzark! (True #RockHounds You're not a #RockHound unless you've watched this movie! haha!!!!!!!) Anyways this was a nice throwback to watch again! Did you ever notice that though - It's the "Side Profile" of the head looking toward the right!
Fairburns are the same thing. Just tumbled down through the streams of the hills Teepee canyon that's where fairburns came from the house rock is just been tumbled off from being washed down the stream
That place has a lot of history there was a event that took place and changed the landscape, it was more robust with trees and brush and small to mid size animals easily findable and large ones. This event was one of the pivotal extreme radicalization resulting in the count of a unknown death total becoming into everlasting territorialism, war, genocide or clarification and communication strategies and motivational tactile adaptations of the Aboriginal (First Nations or Native Americans) or migratory peoples from Northern or Southern Regions with commonality of understanding surviving in the land together and sharing life and living despite any past conflicts. The death toll was or has been in the millions and was prior to the industrial revolution or rather track or train or oil boom. Those lands have seen much death of people said to be like ghost's are wind settlers. Those that remained around or missed the lethal prolonged multi-event over time of 30 to 50 years. This drove those that were seen or singled out as expendable or indifferent pushed settlers to undergo recognition of others around and the mystery of the Natives. Many became close if not became interdependent and were able to achieve relations, families, and teachings regardless of skin or location and miscommunication intent.
