Helen, I'm writing to tell you that you've been a wealth of knowledge in teaching us how to paint in Watercolor. I've struggled so much, until I just happened to see you on You tube and changed Everything. Your idea's really work. You teach on ALL our different levels of painting. I hear you clearly. Thank you so much, Helen - you're so inspiring to me!! xxx
This literally brought a (happy) tear to my eye. It means the world to me that I can help people learn and make a difference to them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart xx
My gosh Helen! After watercoloring for a year, I STILL have the problem of getting too much water on my brush because I keep dunking it in the jar, GAH! Finally you’ve provided the answer I’ve needed all this time by saying “put the clean water on your palette.” It’s so simple, but a beautiful fix. Can’t wait to try this technique out. I’ve got some mixed media paper too and will give that a go as well. Thank you so much for sharing this timely tip. I can stop pulling my hair out now and get that water under consistent control. Blessings to you!
@@helencampbell it is easy! I’ve been successfully using this technique during my painting session today and am much happier with the results. Again, I thank you so much Helen. You’ve saved the roots of my hair, lol.
🫶🏼✨✨You’re Brillant✨✨🫶🏼 I have watched soooo many videos about watercolors. The reason I said “Brilliant” was because you said the most important issue so many people like me face! Just Get the Paint on the Paper! I draw my own pictures, I never trace them so maybe that’s why I’m afraid to add paint. Then I have to start over. My biggest problem is..I’m too much of a perfectionist, however I have actually put paint on the paper just now. All thanks to you😀😀 I too am self taught. Never knew I could draw anything, so I must have inherited that wonderful talent. Painting on the other hand all new. With you admitting you to were self taught gave me more confidence than anyone throughout this whole process has done for me. Bravo and thank you with my ❤ for opening this girls eyes to the fact, never be afraid. There are no mistakes in watercolor. I have subscribed and looking forward to looking at your patron page. On Tuesday I turn 67 and love learning from you and my own exploration of watercolor, I have worked with oils and I love them but water is beautiful and I am loving the new medium. Thank you for your help and have a great day.
I love your intro and explanations in this video! And I may just get some time this afternoon to sit down and practice some painting. Lovely flowers. 💐
Helen, it was very fortuitous that I clicked on your September 7th tutorial. It is my birthday! And I turned 77! How about that for the number 7? I so enjoyed your tutorial and look forward to seeing more.
I’m really inspired by your videos and I’m now enjoying trying to paint. I noticed a wonderful framed flower in your intro and I wondered if you would do a tutorial on that one. It’s so so gorgeous - as is all your work. Thank you for the help with water control too. I feel that was letting me down before 💜
Hi Helen, on looking again, it seems to be a larger work almost like the underside of a ‘loose’ rose - it’s absolutely gorgeous- and probably way above my current capabilities but the heart wants what the heart wants. It’s painting like yours that drives me forward! With that in mind I will check out your suggested magnolia. Thanks
Hi Helen! Next could you teach us how to paint something with very small blossoms like a lilac cluster, lavender or vitex chaste tree? I can’t manage to make mine look realistic! Xx
You just painted one of my favourite flowers, and it’s beautiful. Helen would you ever do some landscape paintings? Thank you so much for all your hard work, picking the object to pain, choosing the right music, explaining in such a sweet calm voice, and of course I always love to see the beautiful Color you paint your nails😊
Stunning! I just found you. I’m going to teach myself also. I like how you achieve the subtleties of color shading. ♥️. I can only hope to achieve your level. I also need to check out these brushes. Thank you. I have subscribed.

Hi, sorry I just read that you’ve joined already, can you ask on the Facebook group and I’ll send you a video, I can’t put it here I’m afraid. It explains in detail how to find them. It’s really simple when you know where they are, it’s just they are hidden under a folder
Im surprised to see a watercolorist who doesnt use watercolour paper? Is it because you use such very little water that you can get away with that? I also thought lifting paint would rip nonwatercolor paper or at least damage it? Are you able to use larger brushes for background washes or is that too much water?
I sometime use it but not everyone has it I love the way mm paper makes the paint easy to blend and lift. I’ve a video launching next week that explains this in more detail
