Hello Frédérique! I love your channel. I love to see an elegant woman, with hair done, appropriate makeup and lipstick, and beautifully manicured nails. I love beautiful watches too! I long for the days when people dressed up to fly, or go shopping! It was part of the whole trip, and so much fun. So many women have never been taught these simple rules, that make such a difference in how you are perceived. I love that you keep it so easy, but there are rules, or structure, to maintaining a well groomed appearance. You know what one of my biggest pet peeves is? When women are constantly running their hands thru their hair. Ugh! If it's too long and falling in your face, tie it back, put it in a chignon, a top-knot, or a simple low ponytail. They are always raking their hands thru their hair, flipping it side to side. It's like they are brushing their hair at the table. I don't want their hair falling all around me! It's gross. Or cut it into a style that can be managed without having to constantly fuss with it. It's like they think it's so sexy, but it's not. I don't know.... I guess I'm just old. LOL!
Great tips! Especially agree with the tip on vulgar language. I’ve seen beautifully dressed women but when they open their mouths the elegant image is shattered!
I love fashion scarves and am often gifted with several. I also wear them around my neck, as a belt, as a shawl and on my handbag. With C-19, I use as a face mask. Very versatile.
I think the title of the video should be How to long classy/elegant as expensive doesn’t equal class or elegance. One could spend loads of money on expensive things and still look trash. Great video as always Frederique 😍

I love your videos! I am Pilates Instructor, so I spend most of my life dressed if not in active wear, then very practically. It is amazing though how a nice pair of earrings, my favourite perfume, and lippy can make me feel so much more elegant 💖.

Challenge for me is being both comfortable and classy. Sigh!!! It's possible but I tend to lean more towards comfort can't deny!!! Aren't we always eyeing classy women...both men and women do!!! Just found your channel and I like it. Already watched few videos :) Also, nice tips in this video, except ‘stay away from logos’, and a Chanel bag in the background. Don’t get me wrong I have few of those, and I like wearing them.
Warm neutrals work with your lovely skin tone but I have found that I need to wear much cooler neutrals (greys and blues), it's definitely about finding what works for your looks but also your personality. I don't really agree with the level of consumption and consumerism that comes across in this video, you normally have a stronger balance to buy less and buy well (you have that here too but the balance was different somehow)
Funny should mention swearing. In Canada we have a saying that when we accidentally swear we then say "excuse my French" , after listening to you now I understand why, ha ha! All great tips. What about wearing expensive perfumes. Someone once said that if you wear cheap perfume it then makes you smell cheap.
It's true! There are scents that I've smelled at the dollar store or at bath and body works that always smell cheap to me because of the association behind them. I purposely seek out scents that are not what everyone else has so I don't smell like everyone else . Sometimes I even blend my own with essential oils
When I say play with your own proportions I mean two inverted triangles or two of any other body type can have different proportions or be mixed. Inverted triangle - one might have 32 inch hips, a 24 inch waist and a 36 inch bust, with average to broad shoulders, so can wear different things to one that has a 38 inch bust, 30 inch waist and 32 inch hips. A very curvy hourglass may need to dress differently to a very slim hourglass, but it is still about emphasising that small waist. For a rectangle, do you have shorter legs/longer body or longer legs/shorter body? The proportions still make most of the difference, the type is just a general guide.
I am French also living in the States since 1987. We downsized from a large city to a small country city and I always feel overdressed. They keep asking me: are you going somewhere? I can assure you I wear very simple outfits, but as you say, my nails are done, make-up on like all French women do. I will never change, was raised this way. I truly think women here do not care, and do not let me start with tights! Only very young and slim women can get away with them!
I think in the USA people gave up on tights in the 1990's because they are made poorly and always fall off our waists down to our crotches. I despise tights with a passion and they come across as old fashioned.
I love to look expensive on the budget because it's good to save money haha !!! Now, we are looking good follow the french women style next step its give tips how to get a French man !!!!😉😀
Swearing can show that you’re real and not too precious. In Australia it can about letting off steam and bonding, but it does reflect your level of class, upbringing, vocabulary, self control and respect for others. For some people it can be very off putting. It can be associated with power followed by abuse or violence.. It can evoke strong emotion and shock value, but looses its effect overtime if you swear too much. I don’t do it too often and only around people I know really well. I don’t do it around kids or elderly people.
I don't think I'm brave enough to wear red lipstick. I've bought several tubes, but just can't bring myself to actually wear it out of the house. I feel that it would draw more attention that I prefer. (My lips are rather full and when I have red lipstick on - my mouth is all you see.) I do love a more neutral rose/mauve color. A favorite is Casablanca by Tom Ford. I also like Berrymore by Flower Beauty.

You hit on two of my pet peeves and I see them ALL of the time. #1 People sporting designer logos on themselves, their dogs and their babies, who probably aren't aware of what a couture line IS, but believe wearing all of (so and so's) logo tees and sweats confer style to them. #2 The floodgates have opened on swearing, loudly in public in this country! Nothing makes you look more low class & uneducated. .
