I love these videos. We have nothing like that where I live. I’m lucky if I can find a small shelf of sad looking etiolated succulents. Seeing all those amazing healthy plants in one place is mind blowing.
Never think you have to be quiet, I love your commentary. Plus it helps with spotting the cool stuff and learning their names. Your little freak out attracted attention lol 😁
Hahahahaha! Sometimes I just hear myself talking nonstop because I get so excited about these plants. Thank you for the feedback that the blabbing is welcome, Maria! Omg I need to learn to keep my excitement down to keep very special plants under the radar 😂 This has happened one other time which caused me to lose the chance to buy an amazing plant at an amazing price.
Really interesting and awesome video, Jenny, I love all the beautiful plants you have there and especially the whole concept of a silent auction, thanks for sharing! I 100% agree with you, it is absolutely sooo worthwhile being a member of a cactus & succulent plant society and engaging with fellow enthusiasts and hobbyists! Thanks again and enjoy your weekend!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video, Joe! It was a fun event to attend and record. I'm so glad cactus societies exist all around the world, it's one of the most enjoyable activities that I've been participating in lately - I just love it! Have a lovely weekend, Joe!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this event, James! It's so unbelievably fun for plant movers. I got a couple of plants which I'll share in a video in the near future.
OMG!!!!!! What a great way to add to your collection. The plant selection is spectacular. I have never seen anything like this. If I lived in the area I would be there every year. (I live in Florida). I love seeing the variety and sizes of plants and pots. Let us know what you were able to win. Do you know what the large plant is at 15:42 on your video. Is that an aloe? I have to watch this video over again. Thank you for posting it.
I think your excitement to participate every year if you were here is exactly how the members feel too! Everyone gets super excited for this auction. Now I'm always on the lookout for potential donation plants when I'm out shopping no matter what time of the year it is! Yes, I believe that's an aloe. Gorgeous colors! I will be making a massive haul video soon with all my purchases from the fall sale, auction, as well as from some nursery hopping. Let's just say I kinda lost my mind 😂
It's so nice and sunny there. Joining a cactus club to learn about them would be so interesting. I live in Alberta, Canada, the weather doesn't get like that here. But there sure are a lot of interesting cactus at that sale/auction. Sure lots with HUGE thorns, lol. Not for me, but everybody loves something different. I don't want to get stabbed, Ha! Thanks so much for taking us along. Don't know how you remember the names though.
Hopefully you were able to feel some of the sun through the video Kathy! Does Alberta have a cactus club? I've been surprised by how many cactus clubs there are all over the country and world - it's so beyond amazing. The wonderful thing about cactus and succulents is that they come in so many shapes, forms, and sizes that there's something for everybody. I'm so glad you enjoyed this auction video! I'm only okay with the genera names, not so great with the species lol!
Would have liked to see what you brought home. But I would lose my mind there. I live in Georgia and buy online like 90% of the time and spend a fortune because of it. Even the pottery is a steal there. Wish they did something like that here in Atlanta. 🌵 ❤
Come visit Arizona and bring a van! Is there a cactus society in Atlanta? I'll be combining everything I picked up since the fall sale in one massive haul video, which I need to work on recording. Let's just say I lost my mind buying stuff over the past few weeks...
The haul is coming, some time in the next couple of weeks or so. I'm going to combine everything I picked up over the past few weeks.... Let's just say I kinda lost my mind
i was finally able to pick up some Copiapoa cinerea seeds off of Mesa Garden website yesterday! they usually sell out before i get to them. the Copiapoa seedlings i started earlier this year are doing well and had another randomly pop up yesterday so that was nice to see. maybe i started them when it was too hot and now that it's cooling down it was like "okay i'll wake up!" lol
Am I crazy for not caring about the pots my/others' plants are in? I'd rather have a plastic pot with beatuftul plant. But that what makes the hobby so fun. everyone has their own styles
Interesting, where is this? Sounds like the structure there is that people bringing the plants are selling them and then donating a portion of the sales to the club.
@@cookiescacti yea thats how it works basically they take 10% but the members here def dont have amazing stuff like in video. (In eastern canada, ontario) like a crucigera or even some of the cool little copiapoas, or that massive jute. Do you know how much the 2 crucigeras sold for? And the jute live auction? Im very curious. Great vid btw.

I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the silent auction! I guess one of the perks of enduring the very harsh summers here is the plants 😊
Same! 😂
@@greatnorthernexotic 😂😂😂
Amazing! Can’t wait to see what you ended up winning ❤
Stay tuned!

That is incredible. Love how everyone donated their “Preciouses”. What a great idea to raise funds and share
Love how you call them "Preciouses" because it's so true! This is like a giant plant swap with some money donated to the club.

Oh I’m so jealous! There’s a lot of great bargain there. You are so lucky to be a part of such an active cactus society.
It's such a fun event, Ana! Does Nevada have a cactus society?
@@cookiescacti it did but since COVID, they stopped holding their monthly meetings and talks. I don’t even know now if they still exist.
I was drooling thru the whole video!
Yay! Mission accomplished 😁
Great video and fun event! I saw many cool plants I'd loved to have bidded on, so I hope you got a few! 😂❤🌵🌺🤞

Very cool!!
💚💚💚
That was fun. I probably would have had to bid on a Cookie's Cacti donated plant 😊
Dawwwwwwww! Warms my 💚 Nancy!
Love the video. I'm only 5 minutes in and I just saw the most amazing Euphorbia decaryi! I had to leave a comment. Now back to watch the rest. :)
I'm glad you couldn't wait to leave a comment! 😂😂😂 Hope you see some more treasures as you keep watching!

Yahh! Come to Phoenix and join the club! 😁😁😁
I’d be bidding on containers, aloes, agaves, and snake plants!
Yes! Yes! And yes! You would have a blast in one of these events, Terri!
i think im gonna need to add a baseball plant soon!
Yes! They're such cool plants! And if you get a male and female pair you can make more seeds!
what did you get winning bids on?

Not at all! Everyone has their own preferences. Actually I'd prefer not being so drawn to pottery because then I'd have more money for plants 😝
we have these but peopple who bring the plants keep most of the money and only a portion of it gets sent to the group
