  • A very quick video to show the damage suffered at Snetterton. I'm taking the car over to Lone Pine garage this morning to assess the damage.
I will be covering the repair as much as possible, some I will be doing myself and some I won't be. My main concern at the moment is the damage to the chassis leg at the front
Thanks to Opie Oils for all their support in 2022 www.opieoils.c...

Sorry to hear about this David. You've been a real inspiration for me getting stuck in and doing bits and bobs on my B. Best of luck with the rebuild, looking forward to following along soon. Glad to hear you are okay! Godspeed

You poor guy. Sickening, such a monumental task bringing it back to its former glory. So many thoughts swirling around on how to approach the whole problem. Mechanical stuff is one thing but bodywork is quite another. Best wishes.

Oh man!!! that is a tough day at the track... sorry that you had to go though this, hope all the damage is just metal and you and others are OK. Best of luck in the rebuild I joined the channel to help a bit and return all the help I have gotten with your videos..

Many thanks for your kind message Mariano, your membership really is greatly appreciated. I'm pleased to say I walked away from the crash with no injuries, I'm hoping to update on the repairs later this week.

So sad, that is the cleanest MG around. And soon enough it will be even better!

Dude ! Do you need a hug ? Have to say that went out of shape really quickly . Rumble strip seems to have less grip than grass ! Snetterton being a fast track wouldn't have helped. Hope that front end is mostly cosmetic and no chassis damage. Keep us informed as to what's happening 👍 , such a shame for the beginning of season but main thing is you are ok , cars can be fixed 😉

Unfortunately the chassis/tub did take some damage, but I'm happy to report that it's all fixed now.

Breaks my heart to see this car that I have admired from afar for so long get damaged. I have no doubt that it will be repaired 100% very soon and that you won't miss a beat. As the saying goes "Keep calm and carry on" !

Shame to see the day end that way. It had been a good race. Was planning on saying hi at some point, but decided better case of valour to leave you be post accident. Been using th videos to help prep my car which will be out later this year.

Opportunity for restoration video series. Don’t know where you live in England but if you were close to Trevor Hatton perhaps you could do a joint rebuild.

It is the risk you take when driving them on a racetrack. But what a shame to see this impeccable car in such a state! But metal can be replaced and repaired, humans are less fortunate when damaged.

The good thing is you are ok. Not good to see a classic car like this, especially after the way you prepare and look after the car. But it can be fixed ready for battle once again. Looking forward to updates.

Such a beautiful car and so much of it of your own build and maintenance .
Sincerely hope that the majority of the damage is cosmetic and not structural.
    Best wishes on the reconstruction.

On the upside, at least it's all metal and not rust you're having to contend with.

Sad to see that, it looks a lot worse than it seemed in the original video. The good thing is that even if the front chassis is damaged it'll all pull out straight by someone with the right equipment and knowledge. Best of luck and it does mess your season up, been there got the T shirt. 🥲
