I toured this campus with my kids last year when we went to Palo Duro Canyon State Park and was really impressed. It is beautiful! This used to be West Texas State University and still has some of the cool historic buildings goig back to 1910 - all revamped, and of course a bunch of new ones since it became part of the Texas A&M System. The student center etc are all fancy and new, and the dorms are nicer than most apartments.The small town of Canyon it is in is clean and friendly and definately a safe and positive place for your kids. What is really nice is they have a full spread of colleges/majors here - for example you can get BS in Mechanical Engineering etc here taught by top shelf professors. Sure its a little farther away from us in Houston and Dallas but go visit and you'll see what I mean.

I was there & graduated in Music in 1985. Great experience,then, including participating in 'Texas' in Palo Duro Canyon.
