Funny, I actually ended up doing the same thing when I bought these cabinets a couple of years ago, my limiting factor was the height, I had a little ledge that I had to get under so I just chose not to install the legs and left it floating. It turned out great just like this install, love the puck lights
I did this with Ikea Hemnes, I have two of them at my front door storing my shoes. Sheesh $99 each for those cabinets? I bought mines 1 yr ago, and it's in my bathroom. Wow the prices have skyrocketed on Ikea, those cabinets were $89 when I bought them last year, now they are $139.99, and the Hemnes are now $179.99, daammmnn, that's up $50. Glad I bought 3 add'l Hemnes when I did, I saved $150.
These cabinets are good for laptops (and their charger). Also good for documents, like bills et.c for those times until you have the time to add them to your accounting 😁

Looks great! I like how you use yours, but I am also thinking about how nice it would be in a home office for extra paper or a craft area with little to no room for getting around a big project table! Very nice! 🙌
That's a great question. Am I the only lame-o that when someone says stud finder, and I mean EVERY TIME, I chuckle. I would use a stud finder and say where's my stud. Turns out, the stud finder just found 'studs' like carpentry.
Is it the lighting or are they painted a pale lilac? Looks lovely. I have an Ikea half cabinet (2 openings only no legs from years ago.) ..I have them floating behind my door and put Dollar Tree lights inside to find my dogs leashes, paw wipes, balls, tug toys and doggie bags in one and sweaters and raincoats for my Chihuahuas in other. I'm going to try updating by painting them lilac and use black stickers of dogs and paws and black chalkboard labels. I will also add the lights underneath. Thanks for the inspiration!
Pick up tv led lights from Walmart in the Video section. Only cost $5-10. Plug into the USB port from the tv. Mount the leds to the back of the tv, makes it appear to float.
