when the witch is burning but she had corn in her pockets
Hahahahahaha
The real question is, did she follow that with gunpowder and nails?
Witch-hunting wasn’t really a thing during medieval times, that was much later
I mean she’s definitely a witch if she has a plant from another continent before the 1500’s
@@AnimeSunglasses I know what you did there, my good fellow.
Ah yes, that olde german tune: The Roasted Maize Song ("Das geröstete Maislied"). Excellent choice.
Corn didn't exist in medieval Europe. So we have work on the title.
Ja!
In German, that implies the song is roasted, not the maize/sweetcorn. 😂
@@drymice500 Das Lied des geröstete Mais? (Sorry, my German is very rusty so I have no idea if this is correct.)
@@seneca983 Das Lied des gerösteten Maises, technically. I'd go with Röstmaislied, though. Fits the original title better.
When you accidentally cook some weird vegetable that you have pucharsed from The New World explorers
ugh
that vegetable
it is only meant for a pig body
And you love it so much, the entire village adopts it as their primary grain, and you all develop pellagra from a niacin deficiency.
@@ruler_of_everything Corn is a grain and pigs are rad
@@ruler_of_everything false.
@@timrosswood4259 corn is a grain but it's just superbred so we don't recognize it as a grain anymore
1:10 YASSSSS! bagpipe! hardly ever used in these medieval covers...
Scotland wants to know ur location
@@Daniel-sq1eh nope, lol!
Bagpipes back in those days were actually quite the thing in England, AND France! Scotland had not stolen them and claimed them 'theirs' yet! 😆
Eh, not bagpipes, it was just a pipe. No bass pipe to go with it as in bagpipes.
I would like this but it’s at 88 right now. Someone tell me when it’s not anymore.
I appreciate bagpipes as much as the next one in a hundred people but you were way too enthusiastic, do you have something you need to tell everyone? 😃 mmmm?
Secret pipe player by any chance? 😉
this tune remindeth me of an insane amphibian that was highly annoying
A FROGGE BITH A SMAL BEASTE WITH FOURE LEGGYS
You mean that frog? It is on the right if you, in it's own "Medieval Cover" song
Aggravating Amphibian
Thou speakest of the Hoppe Frogge, forsooth!
@Letzplay Theeth toadhe were besetteth by theet devil!!!
I’m going to make a d&d bard but their whole gimmick is that I assign one of these medieval covers to every spell, and have them all on a playlist, mark my fucking words
Did you do it?
How did it go?
Sounds great. Make it a spoony bard.
2 years later and im still waiting for a response
DEW IT!
OMG, this translate so well. I still picture the Swedish chef playing this on the Muppet show.
Der shrimpies! Shrimpies!
Chocolate Moose :D
@@SigmAnalog PopperDeCorn
@@SigmAnalog The Swedish word for shrimps is "räkor", which of course no one with English as their mother tongue would ever be able to pronounce.
Börk börk börk!
This sounds even more medieval if you haven't listened to the original song yet.
I was at Primary School in the 1970s, and we learned this on the recorder, this brings back sooooo many memories! :)
Let thy enemies' bodies topple sunder to the earth
I can imagine a medieval concert with this song
- Come on commoners hands up! Hands up!
- Who does not jump is a sacrilegious!
- The Witch, the Witch, the Witch is on fire!
Love the drum buildup. It adds an epic feeling to this song. Then it becomes a Final Fantasy track.
The way you incorporated the banging of drums in the background makes this cover absolutely sublime.
Well done
This song sure does bring back memories of nostalgia for me.
Were you there too? In 1340? Shit was real back then fam
shit was real back in the crusades
Was it from ну рогоди?
i used to hear this all the time when i was little

I first heard this piece performed by a Moog synthesizer ensemble with the Boston Pops Orchestra back around 1970. This brought me right back. Thanks!
I seriously hope this trend gets big someday
I seriously hope this gets so big that it will be a popular genre with big stars and a dedicated international fanbase

This tune scarred me for life. When I was about 6, I used a popcorn machine while on holiday. Put the money in, music started playing, popcorn began pouring out... there was no cup...
I'm dying to know how long it took to come up with a way to represent medieval popcorn popping.
Especially when you consider maize (corn) was introduced to Europe in 1493, after Columbus first returned from America.
The picture just crowns it
I can't unsee the otherwordly contempt in the face of the man of the pic
Ah, a favorite of yester-year, 1969 Anno Domini!
This is the music I turning on whenever i cook my popcorns.
OMG I loved this song when I was a child in the 70's I had the Popcorn Record but it got sold years ago I was at a market and found a copy so had to buy the vinyl for prosperity sake!! I've seen a few of your vids but now have subscribed!! i love medieval music and to make modern to medieval is so awesome!!
I think we need a 10 hour version of this. This is actually quite enjoyable to listen to. ^_^

This one is the best of them all, could well be Mike Oldfield himself

Thank you.
I was today years old when I knew "Popcorn" was the name of that tune.
I have always called it "Crazy Frog" for some reason.
And we know why :)
sadly, the composer passed away last year
What was his name, pray tell?

This cometh over so beautiful though art lovely tune
I saw the title and thought to myself, it's too good to be true. Could it be? So I clicked on the video, the long opening note holding while my internet struggled to load the description, just as the tell-tale first notes played, I read "by Gershon Kingsley" and I think I've died and gone to heaven.
Imagine thinking medieval Europeans had corn. Lmao
Different kind of corn.
I'll say it until they roll me into a grave, the mark of a good tune is that it holds up well under differnt styles/arrangements. Gershon's original to Apollo100 to the various dance club/tech mixes to Swedish Chef and now a Medieval arrangement. It's just good no matter how it gets done.
I dare say that this is better than the original
Absolutely nailed the instrumentation
Sir, thou art a genius.
William Wallace loves popcorn while watching the movie Braveheart.
Long live Gershon Kingsley!!! Hail to the king!!!
I think I like this arrangement better than the original! Very nicely done.
BRAVO!!!!!

Dang, I was imagining the exact same thing.
Bravo👍
I remember a Russian equivalent of Tom and Jerry
RIP for those who still didn’t know the title of the song.
Second best Popcorn remake I've ever seen. Nothing will ever match Neil Cicieregia's twisted masterpiece Floor Corn though.
Every Alchemist should have this on their playlist.
This is the opposite end of the Carlos Moog version of the Brandenburg concerto.

This is not a bad cover/remix version of that classic 51 year old electronic song. for the past 15 years or so since I first heard the Crazy Frog version I've been looking up and listening to all different cover/remixes of this song.
Génial,.
And author of this, Gershon Kingsley, passed away just last year, in december of 2019. But his creation will live forever
