It's better like that. This way we can see the boss pattern and how it's dangerous. Often player with "good skills" don't let us see the boss and personally, i'm here for them.
Why Konami forgot Popolon? He was a great character and he could be a good choice to begin a brand (as per Castelvania and Metal Gear). Ok Pentaro would be the mascotte. I suppose that also Popolon could be a part of the main Konami characters (and not only for Parodius).

I did nog remember all the bosses but the first and the last certainly. Must be more than 30 years ago since i played that game.
