This movie has the best opening scene of any horror movie.
This movie also has the best ending too
I remember the opening scene traumatizing me as a child
@@hotgirloncokedisgusting scene, especially for a kid to watch it lol 😈💯
Metal wire + tension = that magnificent opening scene.
Reminded Me of a similar moment in "Die Hard With A Vengeance."
Absolutely an underrated gem
Haunted ships and horror of the sea is one of my favorite sub genres, thanks for watching this one.
Lol, "sub" genre
@@DemonKingNemo Below (2002) is part of the ghost ship 'sub' genre
@@oaf-77 huh
This is a childhood movie for me. I was 7 when I watch this 😂
Yup, just a steel cable under a LOT of tension...
Reminds me of a general PSA: If you own a house with a garage, don't ever attempt to replace the garage door springs (unless you absolutely 100% know what you're doing)...
3:05 I'm not sure, but it's worth noting: f they went & salvaged a boat based on a tip from a third party & didn't compensate him/her with the requested/negotiated finder's fee, they'd have a helluva time getting anyone else to bring them information on other potential salvages after that...
Great cast , it definitely keeps you interested throughout the film . I would have liked more character development maybe before boarding the ship
This movie was first released 21 years ago in theaters.
Not sure if you noticed but the crew taking the gold on to the ship at the end was Epps crew. Jack Ferryman's name is a play on the greek being Chiron, he's a ferry man that carts damned souls over the river Styx so by that logic his "management" was Hades or some iteration of him. Absolutely loved your reaction, definitely subscribing and if you haven't reacted to Thirteen Ghosts I highly recommend it.
it was not epps crew? they look totaly different
14:06 fun fact - the gold bar she's waving around - the standard weight of a gold bar within a range of 350 to 430 fine ounces, approximately 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms.
*THERE ARE 4 MOVIES THAT HAVE GIVEN ME NIGHTMARES:* As a kid the British-made Vincent Price-Peter Chushing 60s movie _"Scream & Scream Again",_ and Frank Langela's _"Dracula,"_ *AND MY 30s WAS CHRISTOPHER LABERT'S **_"RESURECTION"_** AND THIS MOVIE.*
One of many good things that i liked in this movie was the talk of both captains. You know the camaraderie between two people of the same rank.
The value of the boat is usually calculated by the insurance company that holds a bond on the ship. If they are salvage brokers, they have a fast way to the info.
Massive points to you for figuring out it was Jack before the reveal moment
The scene where all the innocent souls including Katie are freed from the ship and can go to Heaven is both heartwarming and tearjerking as you can't help but shed some tears knowing that they are finally free and can be with their loved ones in Heaven.
I remember watching this in america a few years after it came out on tv, and the family i was with let a 4 and 6 year old watch it.. i was like WHAT, its called ghost ship and the first scene was slicing.. i mean.
Katie wasn't infected by evil as she died pure and innocent, she couldn't be corrupted like the rest of the crew. "The Management"="The Devil". The wire is known as a hawser.
I love seeing people react to that opening scene. IMO the little girl actually had it SO MUCH WORSE than anyone else, though. They would have all gone into severe shock and probably not felt anything before they died very quickly. Given the number of people on the ship, there would have been enough food and water to last one little girl a HELLLLLL of a long time. She would have been all alone on that ship with those decomposing bodies for months on end before slowly dying of dehydration or starvation.
Hi Steph new Sub here. This movie is totally underrated. Happy Halloween
👋Welcome to the Club!
Yay! Fun for the whole family!
Popcorn and blood sausage for everybody!
Like Sleepaway camp end this film's beginning is more famous than the rest of the film🎩
To be honest the opening of this film is shocking but the rest of the movie is completely unremarkable
I had forgotten this film existed, my memory is getting as creaky as this tired old plot!
I never understood why Gabriel Byrne wasn't a bgger star, he did some great stuff, though i doubt you could argue this was a high point.
Indeed👍some of His Best Works (IMO) included "Cool World / Point of No Return / End of Days."
Excellent ending 👍
Hey Steph, enjoyed your reactions to the Bourne series… you would really like ‘The Accountant.’ It’s under the radar, but good action, good storyline, Ben Afflac, Anna Kendrick, Jon Burnthall. Give it a shot.
Excellent Recommendation, and here's My Vote to Support that Reaction...👍
Hey Steph, not one of favorite movies but i wanted to hop on and give you some views. Keep up the great reactions.
Happy Halloween, Steph!🎃Thank You and "Thank Your Dad too"😉for this Reaction, I Enjoyed it very much!👍 If You ever want to go on another Voyage-of-the-Damned, here are a few Recommendations: "Event Horizon" ('97), "Deep Rising" ('98") and "Virus" ('99)!👌 I Hope You can get-out and have some Fun tonight...👻
Hi Steph
Everyone says this is a horrible movie. I say its one of my guilty pleasures and those people dont want to think too hard about the mythos.
Is it just me or did Karl Urban look like Jack Black's brother at that time? 😅
He’s the devil 😈
You ever watch GHOST from 1990? Yeah
3:31 Wait. What? You don't KNOW IF you've been on a boat?? Someone hit you over the head with an oar?
Hey gorgeous
Indeed She is...😍👌
