I'm an armchair fan and don't claim to be an expert, but it seems to me that, man for man, our squad is good enough for a top third finish. The fact that we're way off achieving that is down to the manager. It's a brutal business but the right decision now because the incoming manager will have time to turn things around. As for the new appointment, is Joey Barton available? We could do a lot worse! What we need is what I call a working class manager. Somebody like Sam Allardyce or Graham Taylor. Somebody who can take a bunch of (let's be honest) mediocre players and make the whole greater than the sum of the parts.
Karanka would be a mistake imo, what do others think? Buckingham is somebody I like for the long term. Can't see Schumacher joining us but I'd be happy if he did. Latest I've heard is Rowett is clear favourite at 2:1?
I wanted to give Matt Taylor time, however the facts speak for themselves, players not being picked subs not getting on the pitch, no one scoring etc. Some thing had to change, the fact we can't score is probably down to tactics, and players positions, again down to the manager. Let's hope these players can play together and we can do some dealing in January! UTG!
Fucking hell Charlie if anyone is in any doubt that it was the right decision listen to this 😂 saying it was a chore to go to games sums his tenure up for me! I’m really looking forward to a fresh start now a more united fanbase and some entertaining football! Schumacher would be my choice but a more realistic option is Buckingham.
Can see the Crewe manager being appointed,Rowetts going Poxford it seems, never been impressed with Karanka,SS and Lowe wont drop league one and others are all meh.
Well the gas parts company with another manager in all honesty I am not surprised and think for the sake of the club it had to happen however I would like to thank matt taylor for his time with rovers even though it did not work out the way we would have like I would like to think all gasheads will join me in wishing the best of luck to matt taylor in the future .
Should never of got the job was a disaster at Rotherham and done a average job with Exeter has the board brought in the new manager all ready they brought in cattlemore then a week later sack the manager I would of went for Paul Cooke myself someone who plays good attacking football knows the league very well and got many promotions under his belt worked with some big clubs n done well at smaller clubs with low budget
Matt Taylor was done in October and there were still people putting a blind eye to him papering over the cracks. Also Wayne Carlisle was out of his depth and Matt Taylor's best period came before his arrival. The goal scoring numbers per player has been atrocious
It wasn't quite working out come the end. It's a shame because after the Mansfield game, I thought we were starting to see some real improvements. But every performance since that game has been unbelievably poor. His personal circumstances probably didn't help either. I wish him all the best and I wish the fanbase could be a bit more respectful to the bloke. He did his best and not the worst I've seen. I also think we've got a fairly decent group of players. It was never going to be perfect when you're signing so many all at once. Needs some recruits in Jan and hopefully we start to improve with the right bloke in charge.
Agree that fans can be horrible but I'm sure he'll not turn down the additional 2 years salary we owe him and we've been abysmal so I can't feel too bad for him tbh. All the same, I wish him the best
My thoughts should have been Wigan game when they lost at home .4.0 football as not been great . But iv said from start the owners really don’t trust them . Think we gone young in players to quickly. Their few good mangers out there but will it be another yes man . Be nice to see to better performance from the players on Saturday . Maybe first chance for Luke Thomas to get some minutes. Look forward to Thursday. Episode Charlie
Schumacher wiĺ be a great appointment lets be honest performances haven't been great not scoring we could of given Birmingham a better game the final nail in the coffin

Sorry to disappoint you but GT is dead..
At least with Taylor our the door, Luke Thomas can finally get more deserved minutes
Will he tho 🤔 could have been the owners choice 😳💙🙈
@@mattmills1467 he’s probably going to leave now I would off thought 😩
Keep right on boys we've been there and feel your pain Tony Mowbray would be a good shout
Ryan Lowe would be a great appointment, MT should have went weeks ago.
We will do well to still be in League One come May next year we are in a real bad place at the moment with a poor team, hope I’m wrong 🤞
Karanka would be a mistake imo, what do others think?

Let’s see how the next manager does, if it’s the same maybe it wasn’t him.

Rowett won’t come after the way they dealt with him before
Ryan Lowe imo - massive job to work with the owners and the club. Only way it will work moving forward.

Shouldn't if been appointed in the 1st place
Rovers and Man Utd are eerily similar - changing a manager is not really the problem that needs solving.
What’s our DNA these days?

Rowett.Schumacher. lowe would be decent but don't trust this board make the right choice
Bye bye Pratt Failor. He was going to do to Rover's what he did to Rotherham
Never liked Taylor from the off,,, now has TWO sackings on his CV,,,
Schumacher wiĺ be a great appointment lets be honest performances haven't been great not scoring we could of given Birmingham a better game the final nail in the coffin
