I rarely say this about any company, but I have a lot of admiration for Bentley. The Continental won me over a couple years back, and this updated version just solidifies that.
whey! you guys are in my home town with this sweet Bentley, i really wasnt so sure about the quad lights in front but MAN, THAT CAR IS AWESOME! love the Atlantic road! :)
kraenk12 Owned by the Germans, but designed and built in Britain. VW specifically stated that they didn't want to interfere with the brand's DNA, letting Bentley retain its pedigree and identity.
Robin Jeeves Sure, many parts manufactured all over the place. No doubt many VW bits beneath the surface. But I'm pretty sure they're all assembled in UK.
One off my all time favorite. It's the # 2 GT car after the S63/65 AMG when it comes to luxury and #2 after the amazing F12 Berlinetta when it come to power train. I would love to own this car. The be precise all 3.
Nice car and video, but you are driving on the Atlantic road(and about)without mentioning. I have been there with my 3series and I'm curious to how such a big car works on those small roads. My gut tells me that such a car is out of its natural habitat. I would never be in the market for such a car, but I would like you to give it a bit of criticism aswell(outside fuel economy). This was just a lacking commercial to me..
Herp Derp also known as being too lazy to improve an ugly car because they know plenty of clueless dupes will still fork over for the image and brand alone
Xavier Jones That *ugly* car you're talking about is successfully being sold all over the world. You just simply can't afford it and jealous when you see someone driving this ox
Herp Derp "That ugly car you're talking about is successfully being sold all over the world." derp indeed..... popularity has never legitimated design, especially in luxury goods with smaller markets
I never like the street version ones. I don't follow Bentley too much, but what's the name for a classic four light headlight smooth look without extra accessories, called?
So why should this car be better than the 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish with the ZF 8-Speed Gearbox ? Both cars are based on Plattforms which are quite old now and both Cars are about in the same Price Range. But while the Bentley is more of a luxury Cruiser, the Aston ist a sporty, wonderful looking and astonishing Sounding Machine. It's interior is right on the same Level of Bentley and the Exterior is (in my opinion) much nicer. It's still the most beautiful Car on the Market now. So can you answer me the Question why the Continental Gt is a better gt Car than the Aston ? I think the Aston can be used on long Drives aswell, but it will offer much more fun to drive on a Country Road than a Bentley. I think this Reviewer is slightly subjective. But otherwise, i really like your videos Xcar!
dominic graber Was thinking exactly this too. As soon as he said "The best GT car Britain has to offer" my mind snapped immediately to the Vanquish. I'd personally get the Vanquish - more sporty, nicer looking exterior and that exhaust note is to die for.
SenszR Aston's in general aren't 'sporty'. They're mostly GT cruisers with elegance and sophistication in mind with some muscle thrown in. But compared to the Continental though? I'd say it's more sporty.
Honestly I prefer the prefacelift GT. That is definitely the best looking one. The front looks like it has a mustache, and that slab of chrome on the rear bumper is simply out of place, and makes it look gaudy rather than elegant. I love Bentleys but this one simply doesn't do it for me. I hope they don't mess up the incredibly beautiful Flying Spur when it's time comes.
Faizan Akhtar It's a huge improvement, I don't hate it like I did the old model - but it's still pretty boring/bland considering the competition at this price point.
+Faizan Akhtar I saw a few in person today, and they looked brilliant. I think lighter metallic colours look the best, because they reflect the light beautifully to show off all the curves, lines, and small details. It is just such a classy but also imposing car because of it's size (especially from the front). Also saw a bunch of Ferrari's and Porsche's and stuff, but none of them has the same 'get the heck out of my way!' presence of the Bentley's.
diztorcion666 Don't get me wrong, I love the Astons... but the Bentley, being VW owned is actually better built, much tougher and has much more space. For a GT the Astons have laughably small boots, a proper GT should be able to take enough luggage to take you comfortably across continents. Also, being AWD, they can deal with snow if you happen to go into the mountains, like in northern Europe. The Aston is a weekend runner, but the Bentley is a mile muncher xD
Rogue Qall Aston's have small boots, their unreliable, probably have the weakest v12 currently in production. It's a car that doesn't make that much sense. But above 100k it's probably the only brand that would make me take that depreciation hit, if I had the money for it. There's something intangible about them that makes it worth it in my eyes. If you're trying to make a logical decision about a GT then in my opinion any of the german brands offer much better alternatives.
diztorcion666 The Astons ARE undeniably good looking, they have almost unrivaled presence... that's what I like about them. Sure the german brands do make great GTs, but by the sounds of it, I think you agree with me that it isn't about paper stats, it is how the characteristics come through for real car lovers. The Aston V12 produces the least power of all modern V12s as you pointed out. But don't they sound incredible? GTs should travel at speed without effort, not fighting in the HP battle with true supercars. I respect your point though.
+diztorcion666 Weakest v12 as the only others are in the Aventador and f12 producing 700-750 bhp!The Astons naturally aspirated yet it overlaps the Bentley producing 517-600 bhp vs the boosted w12 of the Bentley at 505-615 bhp. Astons are 3750-4100 lbs vs 4850-5300 lbs for Bentleys; and handle better with more agility. Bentleys way more roomy but I saw a video where a Dad put his sons in the back of DBS Volante. The older boy was about 5'0(150 cm) yet enthusiastically proclaimed his seat comfy. The Rapide is comfortable up to 6'0(181 cm) in the Back. A Bentley GT 3r would be my third choice behind an Aston GT12 and Vanquish Zagota.
Great review, but I disagree on the looks part. Those two blades on the frontgrill don't suite the rest of the car. I thought that it looked very fresh, when the 2nd generation came it. This facelift won't age well I think. If I was in the market for a British GT car, I would buy an Aston Martin Vanquish over this.
1:47 The original generation could have done with a larger more upright grille. They have achieved that with the later generations by making the outside headlight smaller and this looks strong and assertive, as it should. But they have lost the power bulges above the headlights. I am not a fan of the plain looks of the new versions. The ever-sharper creases are starting to look a bit ridiculous. In their attempt to make up for the character that has been lost from the original they are approaching a cartoon parody of themselves. The spoiler at the back does exactly that - spoil the back. British cars are elegantly or muscularly curvaceous not starchy uptight shirts.
Aston martin vanquish is a gorgeous car if you parked them side by side everyone would pay attention to the aston martin it's just so much more special
Great car, nice video. Shame that in reality it is too big to use in its native UK, driving one down a country lane (especially when it isn't yours) is just arse clenching in case anything comes the other way that is in any way bigger than a VW UP, because the bentley is so wide. Its also too long to fit in an average parking space properly. If I lived in the US and had the funds, it would be top of the list for a comfortable great driving car though.
Sir you have to sit comfortably in the car, to show us why u are enjoying it. Saying it is one way of showing you like the car. Now all you have left is to prove it.
I like the Bentley Continental, but how can it be considered to be a British when it is only put together in this country. Under the skin it's a German car, isn't it?
"Interior is top-level, blah blah blah", that's just ridiculous. Compare this 2002 year interior to 1.5x cheaper S coupe and suck on that. Which is why we don't even see central console in this video, only veeeeery blurred behind great gearbox selector, which is made of steel and central console is out of focus because it's made of plastic, of course. How can anyone state this is a luxury car when all these plastic buttons are like from 2000s VW? Got VW completely lazy still not updating this car in 2015? P.S. Vanquish IS the best GT Britain can offer, because Continental isn't british.
at 2:15 there's a glitch in the matrix
Matthew Cowan haha , there's some more later also !! Too much Smoothcam maybe ?
Madly in love with these videos, Small RUclips bases car reviewing channels are slowly starting to surpass big budget shows. Well done !
XCar is run by US network channel CBS. Not so small then.
Too much of his face, not enough of the car.
-Might as well call it "some _dude_ - fection". ugh.........
~Tpog 凸(`△´+)
think the first gen aged very well
Yup but id take the 2nd gen for maintenance
I rarely say this about any company, but I have a lot of admiration for Bentley. The Continental won me over a couple years back, and this updated version just solidifies that.
Great review, this channel deserves so many more subscribers which i'm sure is to come!
2:25 what a shot. give my compliments to the camera guy.
whey! you guys are in my home town with this sweet Bentley, i really wasnt so sure about the quad lights in front but MAN, THAT CAR IS AWESOME! love the Atlantic road! :)
Best review yet I think, please add back storage next time!
This is by far my favorite car! If I'll ever had the money to afford it, this will be my daily driver!
I cannot imagine driving a car like that, it's just so beautiful, especially in snowy weather.
Anyone else not feeling the red on this Bentley??
Best GT car Britain has to offer?
My head says Continental GT but my heart screams Aston!
i need to have this, the ghost or mulsanne. What a beauty! So much class love it
Can you do a video on the Jaguar XJ220, XJR-15LM ? Well something with Don Law Racing? Justin Law got 3rd at Pikes Peak, his first time there .
Or S65 AMG coupe !!
Or not.
+Nik Brudar dude youre everywhere.....
brittany watts haha, sorry, I guess?
+Ghost919 Not the S65, it isn't very good. The S63 is, however.
appelpower1 how come? Isn't the S65 the superior one?
Hands down the best GT car Germany has to offer :)
I'd say the S Coupé has the upper hand.
kraenk12 Owned by the Germans, but designed and built in Britain. VW specifically stated that they didn't want to interfere with the brand's DNA, letting Bentley retain its pedigree and identity.
kraenk12 it is not made in germany they make ME109s
+Rogue Qall It's only built in Britain, sadly. Engineering and design is done elsewhere unfortunately.
Robin Jeeves Sure, many parts manufactured all over the place. No doubt many VW bits beneath the surface. But I'm pretty sure they're all assembled in UK.
You didn't talk about the new exhaust, it's a beast
How does it compare to the RR Wraith?
Till date my favorite year model is the 2017 GT V8S.
One off my all time favorite. It's the # 2 GT car after the S63/65 AMG when it comes to luxury and #2 after the amazing F12 Berlinetta when it come to power train. I would love to own this car. The be precise all 3.
Good review

***** I thought the Atlantic Road was a bit disappointing actually, there are certainly much better roads among the Nasjonal Turistveger in Norway
Cedric Hacke i was there in a kia and barely got through some of that one lane stuff
Why wouldn't it be available?
Filming in Norway and its raining what an suprise xD
I like how there aren't any major exterior changes just minor changes that makes it look better
Herp Derp

whenever i see this car... it reminds me of the COG cabrio from gta V
is it filmed in Norway?
Looks like it's got a moooustache from the front haha! All very very Brrrritish! Lovin the B on the side panel as well, great little design detail!
since 2006 barley any notice any design change to the Bently gt
No electronic "active aero" wacky~wings...
I love it.
The interior still seams a little dated. With the S Class coupe S63 and 65 AMG kinda makes you question which one you would rather have.
I never like the street version ones. I don't follow Bentley too much, but what's the name for a classic four light headlight smooth look without extra accessories, called?
"hint of madness in its eyes" - used to describe almost any car with a reasonable amount of hp
Where is the other reviewer?
The guy that reviewed the RR Wraith and Ferrari F12?
He was the best!
Love that intro song.
Goldenhand the Just That was not a song, it was music.
Neil McMahon Thank for for that much-needed correction.
Goldenhand the Just You are right.. it was much needed.
Very nice car hope to own one someday

***** i agree mate. I drove my uncle's continental gt for 5 hours at the highway and it is still very comfortable
The Aston is really not sporty.
Hahaha you must have driven one then ;)
SenszR Aston's in general aren't 'sporty'. They're mostly GT cruisers with elegance and sophistication in mind with some muscle thrown in.
But compared to the Continental though? I'd say it's more sporty.
I have some saving to do!
can't afford that!
What you doing all the way up in Norway in that? Epic road trip?!
The new continental GT looks shorter in width and a lot less aggressive than the predecessor. I love the new look.
XD whats wrong with that crome on bumper at 2:12 ?
For once I'd pick a Continental GT over a Vanquish as a GT car...
those rims look a little like the ones you get on the audi rs7
Greatest car of all time.
haven't seen this channel's videos in a while and just wondering: what happened to the other presenter?
glad to hear!
How much again?
The best looking GT Continental

dont let the badge or look fool you.this is a super car fast type deal from bentley
Am I the only one who thinks this car doesn't look appealing enough in terms of exterior design? Especially the rounded headlights...
Faizan Akhtar
their designers suck, they clearly don't know what they are doing
Faizan Akhtar It's a huge improvement, I don't hate it like I did the old model - but it's still pretty boring/bland considering the competition at this price point.

Oh cool, Grant Ward from Agents of Shield doing a car review!
Aston Martin and rubbish Range Rovers don't do it for me, Bentleys and RR definitely do! Great review as usual.
Nice German car
+Cole Phelps You're right, a German car put together in Crewe.
+Cole Phelps It was made and designed in England, still
Great video, but he sounds like he was reading the brochure when he was describing the design :/
Ima get this in green
The only luxury car that I love
+Carlitox b im 14 and im soon getting this car
Luka Aleksic good for you 🙄
+FaZe Dryzee your name is Faze Dryzee I highly doubt you can afford a prius
Best gt car Britain has to offer ? I'd choose a vanquish, or db9 over this.

Bentley is playing games they should update this bad boy to 700 hp they would sell a lot of them if they do that .
Looks the same to me
patrick jackson Same with the interior
patrick jackson Well you must be blind then. Seriously how can people like you be this unobservant?
I guess apples and oranges look the same too lol
Bellend.
Front look a bit like Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept
Well yeah, it has 4 rounded lights, that's all.
and a single grill .. xD
the 911 have changed more than this have
Good norwegian summer weather.....😄
Any one who can afford it should own one
***** I offered my parents a nice and spacious cardboard box to live in so I could sell the house, but they didn't like the idea ;)
the car is for people who are successful or who have a vast trust fund like myself.
old gen was so much better looking

As long as it is not sub 4 seconds, forget it
0 to 60?
that new bumper ruined the car imo
aston martin db9 maybe?
Either this or an Aston Martin hmmm
I'd rather have an Aston Martin Vanquish
wooooow, like number 1160 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Britains best GT car"? What does that make the DB9,or Vanquish for that matter?
EVILSPAWN1003 You're actually right..The Vanquish ist the best British GT cause the Continental is actually German.
kraenk12 why do you harp on German it is designed and built in England germans dont have the Imagination to build cars like the Aston Martin
It is interesting how they copy that AMG front lip. And it does not even fit or visually belong to the GT.
Sadly not available to drive for me!
Rolls Royce or Bentley?
NextToTheGM lol
I like the Bentley Continental, but how can it be considered to be a British when it is only put together in this country. Under the skin it's a German car, isn't it?
The front still is too reminiscent of a VW, too rounded and feminie. But otherwise it looks a lot better and desirable.
I am a big xcar fan, but i must say this looks like an advertisement for Bentley. Sorry.
Its odd but I still see a Volkswagen
i wish.....
not red, not that wheels...
its trunk not boot
Looks like a Merc.
vitto you are blind!
Rogue Qall “The great Galactic Empire was defeated by a bunch of teddy bears.”
vitto Yes it was... a dreadful day for the Empire! Those teddy bears ate our trooper's heads from out of their helmets! xD
That new front bumper bit is so ugly, loved the old design
Not better than the new Aston Martin db11 that's the best British gt
Bentley designers are so clueless, I mean, get a load of those horrible exhaust tips and mismatched headlight forms.... jesus christ
That car look so sexy in red😍
What the hell is a 'finnder'
footballers' car

First comment!
It. Just. Looks. DATED.
+Olof L How it think it looks amazing.
Nothin is new
It also has two useless rear seats.
Please, your British, they are wings, not fenders, don't dumb down and Americanise everything!
ianmedium Don't "dumb down" and learn to spell, like we Americans can. It's "YOU'RE British", not "your British".
thumbs up for the road, thumbs down for the stodgy poorly designed vehicle
