Feel like I have just been to Spain and experienced the Bentley first hand. My goodness what an incredible experience it was. It was snowing. I saw the beautiful beaches. And I heard a lovely V8 soundtrack. Actually, I fell in love. To those who disliked the video.. haters gonna hate. But with Harry Metcalfe presenting, you will always be greatly outnumbered.
Harry, first of all congratulations for your work!! Spain is not just sun, sea, sand.... Spain is home to almost 1000 kilometres of ski runs and 36 resorts!!!!!
W12 are what give German engineers orgasms, I think for what really ought to be a British GT a V8 is more appropriate. Even the flagship Mulsanne used a V8, although to a different effect.
The current Continental W12 is 2320 KG and the V8 is 2295 KG. Therefore, the difference is 25 KG. I can't find any Continentals weighing over 2600 KG. The heaviest I can find is the Continental GTC W12, which weighs 2485 KG. The second heaviest is the Continental GTC V8, which weighs 2470 KG, representing a 15 KG difference between V8 and W12 (even less than in GT form).
Harry's delivery of his words is very similar to that of Rick Stein. . -they should team up and do a mini series driving great cars to great food locations and call it ' Cars'n' Cookin' or something like that. . Really enjoyable reviews these are. . .
This isn't a rival to any california of gran cabrio or dbs volante or whatever else. It's just in a class of it's own - big luxury car for giving you a royal lift to any place with a majestic sound. That's just it
Well you stated one other factor there with "production methods". There are also materials used to make the engine (IE cast iron vs aluminium for example), turbo/superchargers, type of transmission (dual clutch vs manual for example).
Two and a half ton of weight is massive, even moreso for a convertible. Bentley should seriously consider using a lot more aluminium as was done for the new Ranger Rover which shed a whopping 400+ kilograms from the previous model. That V8 sounds really nice.
This is "Hotel Marquès de Riscal", situated in the city named Elciego. In the North of Spain, province of Alava. The architect is Frank Gerhy (Guggenheim of Bilbao...)
It's a bit silly, but I was pretty surprised when at about 0:30 when Metcalfe steps to our right out of the camera and then steps in again from the left :D
I wasn't a fan of the previous Continental, but this one? Oh God I want one. The noise is absolutely superb. Could somebody lend me some money to get one?
while you work hard, try to be happy with whatever you got...that's what life is all about...there will always be something to desire for...you cant have everything you want..
I myself don't like carbon fiber cars too much. They are more expensive and almost impossible to fix in case of a crash. There are many ways of building a car. A superleggera construction (similar to a tube frame) is amongst my favourites. It can be made using more rigid steel, and not being too heavy. You can then cover it using light fiberglass or aluminum body panels.
Siddharth Meloth no, it actually doesn't. did you know lamborghini is owned by volkswagen aswell? does that make them german or are they italian? just because a german company owns them doesn't make it a german vehicles, they are just in charge of the company and its funding
andrew payne well its different with cars because VW most of the engine and and screen software in paper its British but the soul is Germany on all VW cars !
I don't really know what more you want me to say. In GT form there's a 25 KG difference and in GTC form there's a 15 KG difference. I don't really see an argument against that or how I could reply further to your comment than that.
My favorite part of any Bentley are its seats. Absolutely gorgeous.
9:30 ''..the only thing this car is missing is fun." 11:37 "I'm having too much fun , I've left a photographer behind..." . Right.
Willem Oldewage It's almost as if he meant that relatively! /sarcasm

This guy kills it. His reviews are more concerned about everyday stuff. Way better than talking about horsepower and noise 24/7 like Jeremy...
Harry Metcalfe, I really admire your enthusiasm. Love your work! Thank you!
Harry, first of all congratulations for your work!! Spain is not just sun, sea, sand.... Spain is home to almost 1000 kilometres of ski runs and 36 resorts!!!!!
lol i love this guy, "you have reached your destination"
"thank you very much dear you've been a great help"
Awesome Video ... Spain is a very nice place in winters ...
I didn't like Bentleys untill this precise moment. This was a great review! Thanks Harry
But Bentley did like you ….
Another great, honest and insightful video, Harry. About time we get a 'Harry Gear' show on t' tele box don't you think?
I just wish Harry made a review in my old Astra :D He makes all cars look cool when he reviews them!! Mr. Harry Metcalfe is the Man!
clicking on 'show the comment' again n again is so much fun !

This is why I subbed to EVO.
Hey harry, love you vids. You were in San Sebastian, and yeah, it snows nearly every year in spain! it's not all Costa-Del-Sol! cheers man
Evo Diaries was the best!
another incredible video...tough conditions though. San Diego CA doesn't have that weather!!
love love love these vids please keep them coming, harry is the man.
I love Harry's reviews. I think the V8 is better also.
My favorite part is when he ripped off the engine cover. lol
I love these types of videos, and Harry is such and awesome guy.
I thought I'd only like Chris Harris as a reviewer, but I really enjoyed this video by the big boss man himself.
Driven a Continental Gt and it feels like 40mph when doing 100mph. It's fantastic.
I would have preferred a test of the coupé version! But that's still awesome, I just love this evo's diaries. Great job harry ;D
I love the way the top folds

A other top video Harry!! This is what we want!!
Well you stated one other factor there with "production methods". There are also materials used to make the engine (IE cast iron vs aluminium for example), turbo/superchargers, type of transmission (dual clutch vs manual for example).
Love your evo Diaries!
Keep up the good work:D
Thank you very much, dear. You've been a great help.

i love how he says were not expecting snow in february....
That´s the north. What you can see in the video is the city of San Sebastián in the Basque Country.
Thank you Alex. Was wondering where all this was.
Very good video. I've been waiting for a full work up on this car. Thanks. If I could only have one car this probably be it.
Great Evo review as always. great to get so close to a car and see what it's really like. top marks!
19.2 mpg, I think thats round about 15 l/km. Thats not too bad for a 2.5t AWD car with this power.
Very good review, it was really fun to watch :)
You mean 15 litres /100 km which is not too bad …. Indeed , I wd prefer to pay more fuel to have a Bentley than a fiat or a Prius …..tbh
Considering you lose a whole 2 litres, 120 bhp and that 12 cylinder sound/smoothness, is it really worth it for 3 MPG?
Love Harry's videos. More please!
Great video, thanks Harry!
Iam a proud
Bently owner..........love it.....finally
You came in the coldest week of the year to the coldest area of Spain. I am right now in Madrid and it's sunny with around 18ºC...
this is amazing. a road test, in the snow.
We Love You Harry
love the sound of the twin turbo V8.......Bentleys always sound nice
Not on snow tires ?! WOW love this car even more!
What a brilliant review!!!
I love harry metcalfe, he's just one of the best!
Bentleys are beautiful cars
What kind of camera or camera mount are you using to video yourself? Thanks. DreamCarGarage1
Great review as usual. That lorry comment was jokes. More pls!
6:24 hahahahaah!!!! GPS, "you have reached your destination." Harry, "thank you very much dear..."
It's a bit silly, but I was pretty surprised when at about 0:30 when Metcalfe steps to our right out of the camera and then steps in again from the left :D
What a nice car to look at. I am not too big on luxury cars but you couldn't go wrong
I wasn't a fan of the previous Continental, but this one? Oh God I want one. The noise is absolutely superb. Could somebody lend me some money to get one?
As a sidenote, 'Gallon' mentioned by Harry and the Bentley here is Imperial Gallon. 1 Imperial Gallon = 1.2 US Gallon.
The mpg on the Bently is awesome my sister's 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S gets 19 mpg
Nice! a V8 version of the GTC
Lancer Evolution X : medium traction 0.8-0.85g, tail flick, slide, 20-100 l/100km, over 100 l/100km.
End report.
From
Lancer Evolution X database
Not quite that extreme but can do 20-30l easy, only a race spec manages between 50-70l/100km
Great sounding motor. The snow gives you worst MPG, I am sure that car would do better MPG in dry weather.
GLORIOUS NOISE.
while you work hard, try to be happy with whatever you got...that's what life is all about...there will always be something to desire for...you cant have everything you want..
That V8 sounds awesome !
Lov that interior! Absolutely top shelf!
Harry is the man.
These videos are SO DAMN GOOOOD!
HARRY METCALFE FOR LIFE!
11:28 - That noise made my jaw literally drop.
Great review Harry.
Excellent work
great review, thats just the way it has to be - a man and a car and their journey together
He said thank you to the GPS Woman 6:23 .Great reviewer, Great Car!!
Awesome review. Thank you.
304 views and 330 likes... DAMN that shows some quality.

great review - harry's my favourite
Engine displacement and cylinders are not the only thing that determine the weight of an engine.
Can you pls tell me which device you are filming? Thank you in advance.
Snow is the last thing you'd expect in February?!
Well February is one of the snow months.
As is January and March.
Bentley britains proud
Bentley is wholly owned subsidiary of the German Volkswagen AG since 1998....so that actually makes it german now :p
Siddharth Meloth no, it actually doesn't. did you know lamborghini is owned by volkswagen aswell? does that make them german or are they italian? just because a german company owns them doesn't make it a german vehicles, they are just in charge of the company and its funding
Siddharth Meloth they also own Ducati but, that's still an Italian built motorcycle. Ownership has nothing to do with where it's built.
andrew payne well its different with cars because VW most of the engine and and screen software in paper its British but the soul is Germany on all VW cars !
What the hell would make you say that they are German cars, being a Brit, that hurts me
what is that hotel?
Is the car auto or manual? I don't see him using the shifter.
6:28 wow that's crazy architecture.
Nasty as in menacing. I think it sounds awesome!
You should have come to Portugal...beautiful sun shinning! =p
Great review
that building at 6:22 is beautiful!
What is that place??? looks amazing
love the way he just rips the engine cover off haha
I really like Harry Metcalfe's reviews. I prefer him over Jeremy.
snowing with top down ... cool
I don't really know what more you want me to say. In GT form there's a 25 KG difference and in GTC form there's a 15 KG difference. I don't really see an argument against that or how I could reply further to your comment than that.
It's a 25 KG difference. You will hardly notice it when the car weighs 2320 KG. It may affect the weight balance though.
what happened to the W12 twin turbo engine?
chris harris did a review on the brx/frs/gt86, can henry do one too?
One day hopefully soon I will own one just like that
6:04, "Lorry in the background because they know some Bentleys are in town", lol. When it comes to presentations, Harry doesn't 'get it', he is 'it'.
W12 speed GTC 635 HP the car create by God. I want this car to be my daily drive
