I've been using the same G502 for about 5 years now with all the weights in it. It's heavy and I love it. Ever since, lighter mouse just feel cheap comparatively no matter the cost or quality.
@@SandManifesto did you ever try a ligher mouse? Im guessing you have not ive been using a g502 for idk how many years now and just recently switeched to lighter mouse thats 60 grams lighter and it makes alllllll the fucking differnece honestly just try it
Exactly. Also in addition, they spend $$$ on any super, light weight mouse, then slow it down with a soft control pad... I want control and function over weight. I'd argue human reaction time, total system input delay and your network connection negate whatever gains 20gs gives you. No mouse fixes network packet loss 😂
Personally for me it helps with wrist pain. I have an injury that makes it hard to move laterally with a mouse. The lighter the house the better it is for me.
1. the lighter the mouse is the better the glide is 2. pros/competitive gamers dont care about a epic scroll wheel or 20 extra side buttons they care about simplicity and fast no input delay gear
The point about stability is good. Indeed you are expected to lower your sensitivity to 28 cm per 360° turn or slower to control these light mice. For competitive FPS it is totally worth it. For relaxed desktop use I like heavy mice as well.
I’ve filled my G502 with all the weights it came with and set it to a three digit DPI (like 700 or 900, I don’t remember) even while working. Paired with a claw grip that still allows for fast movements it’s actually really nice for both gaming and working.
I'm using 502 Hero without additional weight and it is awesome. I would not change it for any other mouse, except for the newer version of the same mouse.
I like any branded superlights because it's less strain when arm aiming, especially if it's wireless. The G502 overall is a bit too big for my hand, and I wouldn't care about the extra buttons/features. I don't even use the scroll wheel for anything, except maybe fortnite and light web surfing. The negative is the price of the superlight, but nowadays, I prefer to purchase the Model O Minus.
I think it’s fair to say that at least 99% of people aren’t good enough at fps games for the weight of their mouse to make a difference. It’s just following that trend that every hobby has where people obsess over little details that cost 2-3x more. I’d relate it to something like headphones, sure those $1000+ headphones are better on paper but only a small percentage of people can actually hear the difference compared to $300 headphones.
The problem I have with a lightweight mouse is I pay more for it, and get less. I have a mouse with effectively 24 (12 physical) buttons under my thumb. It cost me 80$, meanwhile I've seen mice with less range in DPI, fewer features, and litteraly less material that cost 300$. There's no point I'm in the top 3rd percentile when I do aim practice games, on a heavy clunky mouse, because I like having the buttons under my thumb. Just buy the mouse you like, for a reasonable price
@@hannanah8036could probably be in the top 2nd percentile with the right mouse. Yes the difference is small but at the end of the day there’s no real negative, whatever makes them happy 🤷🏼♂️

Had to start bending my thumb so it wouldn't touch that button, never going back.
have you ever directly compared $300 headphones to $1000 headphones because if you have then you would know that there is definitely an easily hearable difference
For $20 they work I bet, but no warranty (not that it would matter), and no real pros other than price compared to anything else. On a budget tho I always recommend the cheap combos to start when building a first PC with a tight budget.
I had a model O years ago and it was too light for me; my aim was very twitchy and lowering my sense any more didn’t feel right for the games I play so I got a basilisk ultimate. Favorite mouse ever.
For anyone not understanding why light mice are beneficial. For shooters specifically if you are constantly flicking for hours at a time heavier mice will make your arm tired for sure. Also beinh able to flick a 180 and stop on a dime is nice. Heavier mice sometimes carry the momentum just a teeny tiny pixel too far past the target and can cause misses. I went from a 12 button mmo mouse to a light weight and my aim improved and my arm was less sore after intense quick movement gameplay. Also my mouse movement style as changed with my light mouse. There are small differences that add up to a lot.
This is not how it works, it is a missconception. There is no proof of it, gaming companies use this for their advantage. Your Wrist strenght doesnt care if it have to stop 50g or 100g, the mouse will always stop at the same position. The only difference by these light mouses is the multiutility, because the shape of it allows you to use every grip and to change grips in an instant.
Not a good way of explaining it. Also, anyone who works out will laugh at you. It’s purely a physics problem. A heavier mouse has more inertia, and more inertia means more force is required to overcome that inertia to do anything; get the mouse moving, stop the mouse, or change direction. I’m tired of poor explanations on this simple topic. If it can be boiled down to a science it will be better understood.
@@wahidtrynaheghugh260 sure but does that mean more accuracy or speed? like we're literally talking grams saved here and too light can hurt accuracy as well.

I think it’s somewhat a fad in terms of how extreme companies try to go and how much they charge for them but the lighter mouse does help me with fatigue in a noticeable way. I don’t think anyone can realistically notice a 5g difference in a mouse though 😂
I've had the old g502 for years now and never had issues with it, it's an amazing mouse with an amazing grip, don't understand people who spend hundreds on a lightweight mouse which makes no difference
I’ve always had heavier mice, proffered it until I tried a lighter mouse. Makes a huge difference when it comes to aiming. My aim has definitely improved because of it
You charge that sh&t one a month. Why does it even matter? If your household splits between iOS and Android devices, you may have one of these multi charging cables (C , micro, lightning), just plug the mouse in it, doesn't even have to be plugged into your PC, also charges faster than on PC.
many years ago I got rid of my (second) g502 for a regular GPro, and then a Superlight later. never will look back. would never dream of playing an FPS with my 502 again, though I do pick it up every blue moon for games like Diablo, but still very rare. Capitalistic practices are the scams, not the mouse or the internals itself.
Because lighter mice are better for FPS. It just is. Not always but most of the time, there is a reason why most Pro's prefer lighter. And if you understand basic economics the more buyers there are the higher the Price will be.. Most of the time.

I got the Superlight about a year after first considering it, exactly because of its price, I got it used on ebay for 55€ and can't complain. I'm switching from a Basilisk X which I also got used in the past for 35€. The Superlight destroys the Basilisk X in close combat in Apex, I would not have thought it would make such a big difference. But I'm not sure you need such a light mouse if you don't have so many hectic moments in the games you play.
As someone who owns a superlight, a model o wireless, and a g502, It definitely feels better but I also own a Cooler master mm711 and that mouse can be a little too light at times.
You start to find actual quality around $60+ tho, I agree that it gets to a point where you are spending too much but the $60-100 range can have some steals, especially if there's a sale on a higher end mouse. The razer basilisk v3 is a good one, recently got it for $55 on sale and it's typically like $70-80
I use the G502X and I've always used the G502. It is genuinely the best mouse on the market. My only problem with the new one is that I can't add weights to it. I used to put those little add on weights in my old one and take them out when I was gonna play in competitions making the mouse feel much lighter. And honestly feeling lighter than a superhighway mouse.
Coming from me, a apex, Minecraft and CSGO player, lightweight is basically the game, they make my reaction and faster and glides faster and more accurate than a few of my heavy mice like the g502 and the a70x. This is not saying that heavy mice are bad, but just in my opinion, I believe that lightweight mice are better.
I know its a joke but i genuinely gave up caring about mouse weight. I went from heavy mouse, to light mouse and back to heavy and didn't notice much difference. Only difference is that it takes me a few days to adapt to the weight, then it just feels the same.
I need heavier mouses because otherwise i throw the damn mouse from the desk trying to aim. Another thing is the buttons for MMO's and productivity.

Because it's shape is comfortable and I got a good discount on it. IDGAF about 10 or 15 grams tho. I will say though that the MX Master I use at work is way too heavy for gaming 😂
They’re just capitalizing off of the idea, it’s similar to mountain hiking because all the stuff that’s “lightweight” is so much more expensive. Taking a few pounds off could double the price.
My guy, I buy my keyboards and mice at Asda for either 5 quid or 15 quid if I'm feeling fancy, it doesn't effect gameplay that much, same way anything over 1080p doesn't really effect visuals much
I know it's satire BUT... I prefer function over the light weight. I want buttons to bind to and the G502 left right scroll buttons are automatic and ingrained in me now. I already try to slow my tracking with a control pad. I can tweak my sensitivity to partially compensate for the loss of initial inertia but I can't make up for lack of input/function. Don't get it twisted. If they made a G303 Shroud shaped, Superlight with G502 features I'm buying that 100%. For me that's the perfect shape, light weight + function set.
Gaming mices are overpriced for a fact but just because its less material it doenst mean it have to be cheaper. To get the same durability and function with less weight is challenging at some point and needs research. This stuff costs money. But as I said the prices are way higher than they should but ppl buy this stuff for that price so why should they lower it.
It heavily depends on the player than about features. I have both a heavy g502x and a g305. I snap heads better with the g305 than the g502x because it is a lighter mouse that I can control better. A heavier mouse results in me over leading someone because the mouse requires more energy to move. Which can lead to inaccuracies. In the end, I recommend any variant of the g502 if you are like me and play flight sims, but other than that get any mice that fits you specifically.
I don’t like a super heavy mouse but I’m not a fan of the super light ones either, something about them being so light that makes them feel like a cheap mouse to me

I've been using the same G502 for about 5 years now with all the weights in it. It's heavy and I love it. Ever since, lighter mouse just feel cheap comparatively no matter the cost or quality.
For real, it feels a lot more premium. Plus it’s not even that heavy
@@SandManifesto did you ever try a ligher mouse? Im guessing you have not ive been using a g502 for idk how many years now and just recently switeched to lighter mouse thats 60 grams lighter and it makes alllllll the fucking differnece honestly just try it
@@FutileArt i have used the model o, its just not my thing
@@SandManifesto fair game then
Feel the same, have a corsair nightsword with all the weights in, even for $70 feels premium, dont want to go back now
agreed. i have a g502 hero wired. took all the weights out. its plenty light. these people are just weak. i grew up playing on a ball mouse.
That's what I'm sayin. Love that mouse and I got it on sale for like 40 bucks idk people be wasting their money on this bullshit.
Proceeds to have 20 expensive lightweight mice in the background
almost like that’s the joke
Bro did not get the joke lol
Useful tip: work at a electronics department store and get worker discount
True my friend works at Best Buy and gets me stuff with is discount only paid 90 for my Logitech G pro super light
@@BigJetSkiCSmy friend does too, I just paid 113$ for the razor viper V3
Same bro thats why i use a broom instead of a tooth brush because its bigger, and you can also clean the ground with it.
I like my mice with a little weight, adds resistance for small movants.
Sound like you a fast mouse pad bud
Dumbest thing I ever heard. I specifically want those small adjustments unhindered. You should just crank mouse smoothing to the max
@@wahidtrynaheghugh260mouse smoothing?
A weighted mouse is the nicest feeling in the world
Yeah after that workout I feel so good
I really do like the weighted mice a lot, especially the light speed, because the grip makes the mouse way easier to control.
Depends on your play style and game I guess.
1. the lighter the mouse is the better the glide is
2. pros/competitive gamers dont care about a epic scroll wheel or 20 extra side buttons they care about simplicity and fast no input delay gear
Lol Boardzy trolling the community with shorts is half the reason I follow this channel 😄
I want a heavier mouse for more stability. Feel like a lighter mouse would make me look like a crack head with my movements.
There's no point
I'm in the top 3rd percentile when I do aim practice games, on a heavy clunky mouse, because I like having the buttons under my thumb.
Just buy the mouse you like, for a reasonable price
@@hannanah8036could probably be in the top 2nd percentile with the right mouse. Yes the difference is small but at the end of the day there’s no real negative, whatever makes them happy 🤷🏼♂️
@@hannanah8036 I could never play on a mouse with buttons under my hand... I used to use a Corsair M65 Elite which had good weight to it, but my giant hands kept hitting the side button meant for using snipers in some obscure unnamed indie game which messed up my flicks. Had to start bending my thumb so it wouldn't touch that button, never going back.
have you ever directly compared $300 headphones to $1000 headphones because if you have then you would know that there is definitely an easily hearable difference
@@hannanah8036 with that logic then you're practically saying macbooks should be bigger and heavier the more expensive they get....?
Swinging that 502 around my desk feels like a damn brick, I'll keep my sub 70g mice. and they are NOT bud-ins, they are butt-ins Kappa
U just got weak hands.
@@stressfreemode3755 Oh snap, I didn't think of trying it with my hands! Thanks mate, that helps loads.
140$ mouse
Me buying a 20$ combo mouse and mousepad with headset and a keyboard ( all RGB)
For $20 they work I bet, but no warranty (not that it would matter), and no real pros other than price compared to anything else. On a budget tho I always recommend the cheap combos to start when building a first PC with a tight budget.
I had a model O years ago and it was too light for me; my aim was very twitchy and lowering my sense any more didn’t feel right for the games I play so I got a basilisk ultimate. Favorite mouse ever.
I think it is personal preference too, some wants many buttons and some wants less buttons, some want lightweight, some want a heavy mice
@@derbart1191 the marketing is weird though, like I have a logitech 403 Hero or something, it's pretty old by now but they actually give you a weight you can add to the mouse.
so obviously not even Logitech thinks lighter is always better....
Alot of words to say you are weak
It also has usb c charging
No
i got scammed so hard
LOOOOOOOOL
It’s the feel, my opinion. I use the Razer Basilisk V3 because I like how it feels with my thumb being supported. It’s a heavier mouse which sometimes makes it harder to be pen point accurate but I like it.
Not as heavy as a g502 tho, it's a middle class mouse I love it, replaced my HP omen g502 rip off that started malfunctioning
i had that it cramped tf out of my hands..
Mice, just like sensitivity - are subjective to the user. Shape and comfort is king.
I have the g604 and super light 2. I use them for different games. I have been noticing that I use my super light 2 a whole lot more. Just feels better in my opinion. I think it’s nice to at least have the option.
More buttons doesn’t = better lmao
It differs for people. Depending on what you play the easy access to more buttons can make playing said game a lot easier.
Bring back mice with weights inside. Those are awesome 🙂👍
I use a dragon mouse that has weights and the number pad on the side. Cause in survival games having your number bar on your mouse a amazing.
The g502 has weights in them
It's the best mic I've been able to find for a few years now
It took me a bit to get the joke 😭
I think it’s somewhat a fad in terms of how extreme companies try to go and how much they charge for them but the lighter mouse does help me with fatigue in a noticeable way. I don’t think anyone can realistically notice a 5g difference in a mouse though 😂
The fact the the dpi button isn't on the top is absurd. I need my media play/pause button!
There isn't even any dpi switches on the superlight
This battle can't be won. People spend hundreds of dollars on keyboard switches simply because they like the sound they make. Its absolutely absurd.
Switches are not expensive, they buy decks for 400$. 💀 only to brag about it and tell people "dont go down a rabbit hole"
My aim has definitely improved because of it
I mean as good as new I got a super light for 60 euro. Much nicer for longer sessions and allows me to stop the mice quicker and play a lower sens
The only scam on the superlight is not having USBC :(
May just pick up a $20 dock though
I do prefer heavier mice because it helps my hand have better control
My hand trembles a lot and heavy mice usually help me aim a little bit better
This guy: “Lightweight mice are an absolute scam”
Also this guy: buys all of them 💀
It’s called sarcasm 💀
Bro the g502 layout is goated. Someone makes that layout in a superlight im there... until then ill stick to my mouse with enough buttons.
Has to be the most comfortable mouse I ever used. Patiently waiting for the glorious Model I 2 wireless.
I have the old wired G502. Still works like a champ after about 7-8 years.
100% I'm with you. Even better for me would be a G303 Shroud shape but Superlight, with the G502 buttons and l&r side scroll buttons.
Send this to someone who wants to buy a mouse for there new computer to make them question their choices
They're overprice but they're what people want saddly. We all wish we'd want the cheaper option but i'm fucking tired of my heavy mouse.
Because lighter mice are better for FPS. It just is. Not always but most of the time, there is a reason why most Pro's prefer lighter. And if you understand basic economics the more buyers there are the higher the Price will be.. Most of the time.
super light is in the name, it does wonders for some
Damn right. First thing I did with the 502 was load it with its weights.
The reason why the Tiktok/shorts youths are doomed is because of how well these clickbaity/provocative videos do so well in the algorithm lol
No hate keep up the hustle 💪
I use a super low sensitivity on a massive mouse mat. That’s why I prefer light mice, compared to my old heavier mice
My cm/360 is about 98cm/360. I currently use the Basilisk Hyperspeed X whatever it's called. Should I get a lighter mouse? Something that weighs less than 70 grams? Is it worth it?
@@wakkowarner3716 Just looked it up, mine is around 59.. Personally I found it was really a nice experience, but after a while its just diminishing returns. I don't think it makes you a better player, but it can feel nicer which can have its own benefits.
Lightweight mouses feel better for some people, And the g305 feels weird when playing with due to its structure, Its really what you prefer more.
Is there a review of the g502 x lightspeed coming soon
yes
2022?
SHOCKING! Dumpster drop! EPIC
i use the g305 and it works like a treat best mouse ive owned and ive had alot of high end mouses but the g305 being under 40 still surprises me
I have one too and I love mine
I got the Superlight about a year after first considering it, exactly because of its price, I got it used on ebay for 55€ and can't complain. I'm switching from a Basilisk X which I also got used in the past for 35€. The Superlight destroys the Basilisk X in close combat in Apex, I would not have thought it would make such a big difference. But I'm not sure you need such a light mouse if you don't have so many hectic moments in the games you play.
my wrist would argue otherwise
hmmmmmmm, accurate info as always
bigger plot twist than Se7en.
Companies have made people believe light weight means everything about it is better
Only exception would probably be sports cars, that's about it
It makes it easier to handle and thus more accurate as there is less resistance, and your hand movements can transfer more directly into the game.
As someone who owns a superlight, a model o wireless, and a g502, It definitely feels better but I also own a Cooler master mm711 and that mouse can be a little too light at times.
I hope youre aware the superligth was made with pro player from different games like dota and csgo
The real scam is actually spending more than $40 on a mouse
nah you're just getting e-waste if you're not spending at least $60
You start to find actual quality around $60+ tho, I agree that it gets to a point where you are spending too much but the $60-100 range can have some steals, especially if there's a sale on a higher end mouse. The razer basilisk v3 is a good one, recently got it for $55 on sale and it's typically like $70-80
Bouta cop the g pro X super light for 100$
@@f0nbyr334 Steelseries Prime Wired. It's like $30.

I personally hate light mouses. I'm sticking to my ergonomic cad mouse with the trackball so working in blender is easier.
K.
Shocking 😱😱
jittercli-
Coming from me, a apex, Minecraft and CSGO player, lightweight is basically the game, they make my reaction and faster and glides faster and more accurate than a few of my heavy mice like the g502 and the a70x. This is not saying that heavy mice are bad, but just in my opinion, I believe that lightweight mice are better.
I must say the superlight 2 has taken my flight sim experience to a whole new level.
You’re paying for quality materials that are packed into a tighter area for better performance and software 😭🙏
I know its a joke but i genuinely gave up caring about mouse weight. I went from heavy mouse, to light mouse and back to heavy and didn't notice much difference. Only difference is that it takes me a few days to adapt to the weight, then it just feels the same.
I just bought a super light 2 and it feels so damn good especially for dominating in games fr
The issue is not with why are people buying these mice, the problem is why are these mice more expensive than the mice that has more features
We used to call lightweight mice cheap shit before. Now we call them pro.
I remember when weighted mice were the pro thing.
They’re just capitalizing off of the idea, it’s similar to mountain hiking because all the stuff that’s “lightweight” is so much more expensive. Taking a few pounds off could double the price.
My guy, I buy my keyboards and mice at Asda for either 5 quid or 15 quid if I'm feeling fancy, it doesn't effect gameplay that much, same way anything over 1080p doesn't really effect visuals much
The harshtruth is you don't pay only for materials and buttons. Product development is costly and corporations can't ignore it.
Light weight feels much more efficient with like draging im fps and osu player and it just feels easy with flick so lightweight mouse Really helps
For me that's the perfect shape, light weight + function set.
i got the G703 Lightspeed and gotta say: way fucking easier to clean than the ones with so many freaking buttons.
Heavy mice ruin my sensitivity. That’s why I use my model o 2. It’s such a drastic improvement over my old 89 gram mouse
I don’t like a super heavy mouse but I’m not a fan of the super light ones either, something about them being so light that makes them feel like a cheap mouse to me
If you want a lightweight mouse, just pinch one of the OEM mice from an office.
I want to try a light mouse but those extra buttons look real good ngl
ppl who plays minecraft jitter clicks and prefer lightweight mice and some buttterfly click so with the narrow right and left clicks the g502 is just not the one to use
