- So after doing a few videos Sea fishing I have popped down to Top Flash to try my new Avid Compact Pod.
I will also do some fishing at the same time.

As you say Carl more people buying online so don’t get to handle the goods first, over spray and rough threads should be pulled up by quality control ! And as you say not everyone has the tools to put things right themselves, I’m fortunate like you that I do and I’m often adapting things anyway but it could so rightly be a disaster for some. Lovely Vlog by the way 🎣

Fox Ranger Pod the best all-round Pod I've ever had..... and I've had them all, Fox Horrizon and the Sky Pod. The Solar worldwide,Jag compact and others over the years. The only gripe I have with fox pods is the cases they come in. The zips are crap in the cold weather and they tend to be stiff an lock up.

I never had any of those issues with my lockdown pod. My only gripe with it, is a prefer if it could extend longer, so I could get the butt ring on the near side of the alarms, which is my usual set up. But that’s a small complaint.

I brought one of these last month. Went fishing this week and one thread on the buzzbar won't allow my to tighten my alarm, same alarms as you, the MX so it was on but loose. No problem with the other two, right nicely.

Great video mate:) wish i watched it prior to ordering one of those, since im not an engineer i hope i wont have this issue, cause i live in city that doesnt have a huge range of tackle so i ordered it online and i dont like sending things back to shops. cheers

The one thing I sold and utility regretted selling 100% was my set of 12ft free spirit 3.5 tc hi's rods.

Alright pal.great review and honest..have you used them on a wooden peg yet? If so are they stable or do they topple.. I bought the sonik xtractor and it didn't feel right on wooden pegs with 12ft rods n every time the alarms screamed off the pod would shake like jimmy savile on a playground? Cheers mate

No
Won't be any quality control, was it made in China by any chance.. JAG seems to be the best quality pods and bank sticks. Made in England to the highest quality, but expensive. Good videos mate. 👍

I would be interested in a supermarket sweet corn comparison video. All brands considered as I have never found the perfect brand.
You do it as you’ve a passion for it clearly
To be honest, all pods are pretty crap and so restricting, only use my fox horizon when fishing off solid decks is the only option, otherwise it’s bank sticks all day long.
