This was so funny while true, I laughed so hard how you dubbed in the part about the auto 10 speed, priceless. Will go down as one video I remember for sure!!!
I was really surprised to see a Corvette from Ulmen Chevrolet in Düsseldorf at the 5:08 mark! That's where I bought my 2017 2SS. I now have a 2017 ZL1 and get to enjoy it on the German Autobahn! Before I moved to Germany, I had a 1979 Camaro and a 1992 Camaro RS. But the Autobahn is a GAME changer!
Some people may say I have low standards and although that might be true the Camaro has been my dream car for a long time. Looking to pick one up in about a years time
That supercharger whine was barely noticable in my '17 ZL1, in fact my superchargers intercooler was bone dry from the factory and that caused the motor to cut the power when the supposed cooler air the supercharger was not cooled. The SOBs at the dealership svc.mgr told me there's nothing wrong and actually sent me to the speed shop they use for mods and as long as I don't tear the motor apart, boltons won't void the warranty. Long story short my mods were just boltons and the same svc mgr wouldn't fix it because "its been modified", dealership svc depts are worse than incompetent. The "LT4 guru" was unaware the supercharger had it's own cooling system and put dye in the radiator and said all's well with the supercharger!!! I gave them the service bulletin #'s addressing this exact problem, the thing gets charged and 10 days later the intercooler is empty again. I gave them the internal doc #'s for this exact problem and even after that they still telling me nothing was wrong and because it's been modified it's my problem, not theirs. The svc mgr is the one who sent me to the speed shop in the first place. After popping the top off the supercharger low and behold... The problem was exactly what the doc #'s description said. A break in a seal caused a leak where the cooling bricks were being ruined by the leaking coolant. Effing bastards then tell me it will be $7200 to replace the stock unit, the speed shop then tells me that there's a whipple 2.9 to dump the stock 1.7 for only $200 more. You said how fast the ZL1 is, with that new whipple, headers along with dyno tuning and adjusted the software of the 10sp auto it's putting out 840+ hp at the crank and 702+ hp st the wheels. It's quite a handful. I thought about taking the stock piece of crap 1.7 and dropping it on that svc mgrs desk and was talked out of it as I'd be arrested for what I planned (thanks Andy). I was thinking about putting a meth injection system in it but it's my daily driver and adding another 50+hp is truly crazy... So I had to lemon law my '15 SRT Challenger after 2 years of fighting with Dodge, took the check and got the '17 ZL1. I don't know if I'll ever buy another SRT or ZL1, the C8 ZO6 will be the only thing id dump my ZL1 for.
Love the review, the 3 petals, performance, and exterior of the ZL1. Maybe you don't notice while driving but i'd need an airsick bag at every stoplight because of that interior. So to answer your question, Corvette instead hands down.
Man I miss my 5th gen ZL1. I love the 6th gens but they were a bit out of my price range. I learned to drive a manual in that car. Unfortunately Covid put a bit too much stress on my financial situation and the car had to go. I miss it every day. There’s a video on my channel of it vs an SS Camaro at the local drag strip if any of you want to check it out. My girlfriend recorded it on Snapchat so the quality isn’t the best but it gets the point across.
Great review and funny!....I pick mine up Wednesday all the way down under in Qld Australia. I can't believe the value the good looks oh and the altered beast under the hood...!
While I'm excited you tried out the '17 Camaro, it's a very cool car and all, but for me, it was kind of a disappointment. (This is coming from someone who owned a '16 Camaro 1SS, a '16 Hellcat, and a '19 Corvette ZR1) (thank you swapalease for getting into these leases at the last few moments of it's lifespan) TL:DR list of pros/cons for me: Pros: Good Power to Weight Ratio Manual Pretty comfy interior (for a sports car) (Kind of arbitrary, but the whole "Camaro Refresh/Remake" we'll call it, it was done pretty well throughout's its so far history, compared to some...) Cons: bit too much Carbon Fiber for myself. (Yes, it's awesome and all until you have to replace it all. Also good luck trying to buff all the eventual scratches and etc out of it) LT Platform Engine (I prefer LS to LT) Kind of Feels like a R35 Nissan GTR (with how bulky it is, and all of the extra computer adjustments, but separates itself with the rowdy LT Engine) All in all, I think it's a superb vehicle choice, but it just wasn't meant for me. Would I still own one? Yeah, I would. Would I buy it over a similarly spec'd Z06? No. I don't think these aren't worth it at 70K+ MSRP, but if you can find a used one (not abused) in the 30-40-50K range (depending on year model), these are an absolute monster for track days, daily driving, and even some Trips to Mexico (provided you keep it factory stock) I don't fault anybody for wanting these, and keeping them like they would a '68 Camaro SS. They're very cool, and they're pretty solid.
Hands down the best video I have seen on the zl1. Great humor and info. Bravo!!
Love that screaming supercharger !! Excellent review brother!
The supercharger is NUTS! Appreciate you watching Chris! 🤙🤙🤙

I'm glad to see the praise of the M6 trans vs A10. It's so much fun in manual!
Yes!!
Great Review! And you are hilarious!! LMFAO
Appreciate that Ron! 🤙🤙🤙
Great review!! Can’t ever go wrong when there’s 3 pedals!
Just bought one and it s a great car. 10speed automatic 2020 black.
I have a 2022 white ZL1 and I love it
Love the car! Great vid. 👍🏼
I always love your videos. They are very informative and always make me laugh.
I love Camaros they are my favorite car

Not a low standard at all man. People that don't understand cars don't get how much of a beast the zl1 is
Great video, keep it up
Thanks Matt! Will do! 🤙🤙

Better boss up & get another lil bro
@@KevinSierra-p9t3 years later and I still haven't gotten a ZL1, but I got a C5 Corvette and put a TSP Tsunami cam in it along with a full exhaust.
My friend just picked up a 2017 blue one, ALOT more power than a SS
If you adjust your mirrors properly and pay attention when you drive visibility isn't a problem.
welll you have sold me on this car!!! guess gonna have to buy one lol!
Enjoy 😎😎😎
I just got one. You won’t regret it.
@@StrideX21 how much did you paid?
@@mkallfy mine was a 2018 zl1 got it for 49.5k with 26000 miles

I was first looking at a hellcat but going to get this bad boy instead. I dont just want straight like speed i want something that handles well also
Not to mention that if you sit down and pull the seat belt all the way to the end and let the belt go, it locks you in place
Yes, I would rather have my ZL1 than a corvette!
Me too
9:56-10:06 is what sold me

What is the exact size of the supercharger? I've heard 1.7L and 1.9L on other vids
Epic!!!
That whining… music to my ears ❤️
I actually like the interior
Can you make a video on how you mounted the yellow marker lights in your Jeep grille?
Still gonna get the A10😮
See I love the Zo6 but I love the zL1 more. Only because there’s 4 seats but it has more space etc
Love zl1
What happened to your C5! Did u end up getting the harmonic balancer changed?
Of course I'd rather have the ZL1 over the Corvette Z06 if the Corvette overheats!
What exhaust is on that ?
That’s a stock car
This or the GT500 ?
A camaro is not a tank. Now a challenger… that’s a FREAKEN tank
100 percent the Zl1 is more like a jet and your the fighter pilot
How much does it cost nearly ?
Red seat belts are NOT standard. I have one since day one without red seat belts
Ok Doug..
Awesome
This whole video is a bruh moment
Might I ask, how?

I know camaros that car isnt stock. A stock one the supercharger isnt that loud and that exhaust isnt stock
Amazing vehicle. It's just a little bit too bulky for my personal taste
It is awesome! Thanks for watching 🤙
