Our interest on our house was 3.875%, so we refinanced and our rate now is 2.9% fixed on a 30 year note. Since we make just One extra payment a year, we can pay off our mortgage in 18 years. If you have a 15 year mortgage and you make just One extra payment a year, you can have your house paid off in 8 years
A lot of the shed dealers have a rent to own type payment plan.If you use that plan, you will pay more than double the price of the building.A $7500 shed was going to cost me around $18000 when all said and done. But to be fair, the RTO finance company and the salesmen make that very clear when you make a purchase.I let mine go back because the thought of paying $300 /month for 5 years on a 10x20 shed was making me sick .But it was my own fault. The repo man that came to get mine was also the same man that delivered it.Very nice ,professional guy both times.
The finance on the building or anything else costs as much as to make the item. How, as a society, do we allow something that takes materials and numerous man hours to build, shipped etc cost the same a one person typing a few digits into a computer screen to pay for it?
@@peterevans4028 They prey on people wanting something better.I am sure many people say to themselves, just like I did,"I can probably save some money up and pay this off in 6 months".Sadly,it usually doesn't work that way.But again,I can say the salesman and finance company are at least upfront about that. But with a reasonable finance charge of 14% or less the need for repos would drop, and their sales would probably triple.
@@pallmall5495 Prey? No one preyed on you, my friend. You weren't forced to buy the shed. You said it yourself; you were told up front what the cost of the shed would be. If you signed the paperwork agreeing to an interest rate, that's 100% on you. Even 14% sounds outrageous to me. Negotiate better, improve your credit rating for a cheaper loan rate (or a different type of loan), or don't make the purchase.
@@patring620 50% interest is indeed predatory lending. No,I was not forced into anything.Few people I know can just go buy a $7500 building just to store things in.You can walk into that same situation with a credit score of 849,and you will be treated the same. Why?Because they do not check your credit score. Why did I make a bonehead move and buy mine?I needed to store tools and the price of lumber was through the roof at the time.Im not claiming to be a victim,Im just saying these rent-to-own places would do much better with a reasonable rate.As another stated, typing in a few numbers should not merit $10,500.
They would not do better at lower interest rates, (you would do better) because you would be able to pay off the building and afford it… but where the finance company makes the money is they get to keep repoing the building over and over again and selling the building over and over again making the same money multiple times on one building knowing most people don’t ever pay a building off so unless you’re going to buy cash I would not finance a building unless it’s like a super low payment and you know you can afford it.
Why was the renter allowed to fix the building up when he was renting it? I rented to own one of mine and my contract said I couldn't do any modifications until it was paid in full.
My son got himself one and has it paid for and nicely made a home of it for he and his wife. While my other son makes arround $134,000 and he don't own anything two broke down cars an his 1984 work truck. Amazing how things work.
Stay armed stay safe folks Side note: why sell something when people are willing to pay like double price. Rent to own that shit! Such a great business model.. people love to do it. They then get it repoed like 3/4 of the way through the payments. And never end up getting it back. So all was wasted. Then ya get to rent it out again! Truly genius if ya ask me! So good
Now that's the absolute correct way to perform a repossession. The writ of seizure allows the repo agent to go on private property. Every law in every state is different. And some repo guys believe they can go past a gate on the delinquent owners' property and repo the item. They do it because the contract that the rent to own buyer signs has such language in it. But some actions like that can lead to criminal charges. I've seen some repo guys get arrested for trespassing because the company or person that they are repoing the item for doesn't tell them what can happen. They only mention the fee they will receive if the item is repossed. But having a writ of seizure in hand goes a long way.
Wow, that was utterly fascinating to watch. I guess I never thought a company would repo a shed, as in literally come take it. I thought they would just take you to court. Guess these people thought that too, lol. Do they repo trailer homes too?

Awesome! Bet they were ticked off that you got it out of there. Grin.
Yes
I've seen a few of your videos. Always impressed.
When I bought a 10x20 portable building I paid cash. There wasn't anyway I was going to have to make payments with interest added on to it.
Good idea
Holy Crap, y'all. I am brand new to this and am here for every minute of it. 😮
thanks
another professional job well done.
The shed would make into a great home with insulation, a double glazed picture window, and a wood stove. 😊
Got a question...have you ever heard of anyone using the equipment that you use to steal a building? Not repo but outright theft?
Buildings get stolen quite often
Why was the renter allowed to fix the building up when he was renting it? I rented to own one of mine and my contract said I couldn't do any modifications until it was paid in full.
I dont think these folks follow rules very well.
Exactly
that's one healthy country boy! maybe that why they couldn't afford the payment any longer?
I grew up down the road from Spring Bank Landing. Miller County 35. Love Bright Star Arkansas.
That’s where I went to school till it shut down
Great repo shed video
Awesome video but why is the building lifted on one side instead of in the centre when putting the wheels on & off?
My son got himself one and has it paid for and nicely made a home of it for he and his wife.
While my other son makes arround $134,000 and he don't own anything two broke down cars an his 1984 work truck. Amazing how things work.
Sounds like broke down car son and his wife are on drugs, meth? Fentynal? Too bad
Great Video, I like your longer videos And recipes!
Thanks
Good Job Where there's a will there's a way
Stay armed stay safe folks
Side note: why sell something when people are willing to pay like double price. Rent to own that shit! Such a great business model.. people love to do it. They then get it repoed like 3/4 of the way through the payments. And never end up getting it back. So all was wasted. Then ya get to rent it out again! Truly genius if ya ask me! So good
That’s a shame those nimrods had to be difficult. Little bit of repair to it and I’m sure you will find someone who needs that.
They'll still take some loss because it's damaged goods. It can never be sold as 'new'.
I suspect the repo business will thrive for a while in the US.
Roll Bro Jesse! Fixing to start doing this myself.
You would think that if the plan on living in it they’d make those payments
I don't want anyone to ever be displaced but you have to pay your bills !
Wow, that was utterly fascinating to watch. I guess I never thought a company would repo a shed, as in literally come take it. I thought they would just take you to court. Guess these people thought that too, lol. Do they repo trailer homes too?
Yes but we don’t
Yes, trailer houses can easily run upwards of $100K for the big nice ones. Sure and they’ll take that back if you don’t pay.
I once had a guy knock asking if I knew where my neighbors were, he was there to repo their livingroom furniture. 🤷♀️
@@stonecabinadventures1933 A lot near me was selling a model for 200k. Had an outdoor stone kitchen complete with huge flatscreen TV. People here buy them to put on the lake for vacation homes. They look nicer inside than a lot of people's houses.
Well kind of hard to repo Moble Homes ( you have to deal with the family living in it ; the location ; and utility companys " gas, oil, electric, water, and so on ! Then if it is a dubble wide you have to do the work to split it in 2 halves to move it ! Also have to deal with it being on a slab or a basement ! As for a 2 story madular ; then you need a crain too !
This is why before you even spend any money on adding to the building you actually pay it completely off first. It'll be easier in the long run.
Problem for both sides, that’s the fact of life.
Good job. An ancient Hobart welder.
They even stripped the door hardware. Grinch!
Doesn’t belong on the shed. If they took it it would be stealing, like who the people who didn’t pay tried to do
Big shout from your newest subscriber in Scotland 😉
make your payment ON time and repos will be avoided; stop wasting money on booze, beer, cigarettes cofee and garbage like that!
power connected? A insulated pair of cable cutters,, some 88 tape as for the sewer pipes, a sawzall and off you go!
I see this foolishness ALL the time in MY family.... asking to borrow money showing up at my house smoking cigs and drinking dunks...Yea no way...

when my daughter brought the place we are living now , there were two of the 10x20 building on the place we use one and sold the other, they are really nice buildings, I can't see why those people didn't make the payments on the building before the started making it into a living space.
