This happens often when a rapper emerges out of the shadow of another . Once Ja became his own entity and was not the “lil bro” or outta DMX & Jay’s shadow then all the animosity started. Interestingly enough both Jay & X said he was starting to get too cocky but I see it as him enjoying his success and accomplishments.

I like Jah, I never thought he sounded like X... (Jah = "Oscar the Grouch", DMX = "Doom Guy" fighting a legion of demons) BUT at the beginning of this video... DMX kept it simple and to the point "YOU ALIVE CUZ OF ME"... then Jah pops up next, shirtless, talking about being a star... NO COMPETITION... DMX all day everyday, and I still like Jah but I'mma always avoid picking sides, it's no question I don't even mentally have a Jah vs. DMX... I'm more like "HOW?" its like trying to fathom how a giraffe would fight a Bengal Tiger...? They both big, but one, kills shht to survive... the other one, just want to live... and also "Murda Inc" JayZ DMX Jah is still one of the meanest songs ever!!!

Both of them have nostalgic timeless hits. I couldn't imagine DMX in the place of Ja's songs and vice versa. Ja was right. They both had deep voices and pulled from their diafram like Pac. Ja was suited moreso for r&b and DMX brought aggressive club confrontational vibes. They both had their own lanes even though they had deep tones.

I can understand if Ja didn't feel he got the love from X and Jay, that he showed them. But Ja saying stupid s*** like X was envious is crazy.
Ja sold a very impressive 30million albums worldwide, while jumping into different lanes and changing up styles.
X, on the other hand, stayed true to his hard-core roots, giving us raw, powerful music throughout and managed to sell nearly 80million.
So I don't see why X would have been envious of Ja.
