Spelunky 2 - No Gold Pacifist Low% DOUBLE WORLD RECORD (

- This run serves as both the world record for Pacifist Low% and No Gold Pacifist Low%. I've finally redeemed myself with this run. Months ago I got a No Gold "Pacifist" Low% run that would've also been a double world record, but it had one unfortunate kill that I didn't even see. Upon triggering a landmine on the mothership exit, it apparently blew up an alien that was on the other side.
This run was pretty neat. It had some pretty good levels, but overall nothing too crazy. Neo Babylon definitely carried the run to the finish. Even without a good Neo Babylon, it still would've probably been the first sub-4 No gold Pacifist Low%.

That is crazy!!! Maybe you should try for no% pacifest next time. That would be ridiculous.
I've beaten Pacifist No%, but it would definitely never be a double world record. It would need to be a run about ~30 seconds faster into Tiamat.
@@PaulGonzales-tvrobot10 Dang. I have been playing spelunky for a long long time, and I'm a decent player but not quite as top level as I wish to be. I also typically compare my times with the world record to see how much I have to improve upon to break it, but what helps with me is that I think about the pacing I would need to do; I might need to improve by 5 seconds in the mines/dwelling (Spelunky HD or Spelunky 2, either one), then 10 seconds in the second area, maybe shave off a second if possible at olmec in spelunky 2, and so on. This way, you can think about how you could realistically get the record, and it boosts your confidence some. Do you play in HD???
@@Alphaminx That's a good way to think about pacing, but it's not always realistic to specifically try to save time in certain areas when it can often be seed dependent. Sometimes you just get a level that is inherently faster than another level. However, if you are still improving as a player and getting better, it is a healthy mindset to have about pacing. For me personally, I just keep an eye on my pace into certain areas and try to play as fast as I can. I have some certain "target paces" that let me know if I'm on a good run. For example: Spelunky 2 Low% into Olmec at ~1:20, Spelunky 2 Low% into Ice Caves at ~2:20, etc... Also, yes I play Spelunky HD sometimes. You can check out my channel and I have recently uploaded 2 Spelunky HD videos which are both challenge runs. Also, have you considered uploading some of your speedruns to Mossranking? In case you haven't heard of it, Mossranking is a Spelunky website where you can view other people's runs and also submit your own speedruns.
@@PaulGonzales-tvrobot10 I actually have posted *a* run on mossranking, because I'm too lazy to post each of my best times, because I've been breaking them back to back recently. On my youtube channel, I have a couple of my best times, and a couple of challenge runs too. Soon (I just did this run, along with an all nighter because I told myself I would not sleep until I got it) I'll have a video posted of my first time getting to hell on a no% run. I have decided not to roll olmecs spawns for a firefrog, but instead just use the mine and hope I'll be good. I got trolled in the video because a firefrog ended up spawning and I didn't know until after I placed down the mine. Still a really good run, and I'm soooooo happy I finally made some progress!!! I kid you not, I immediately got softlocked with no% right as I entered hell, so I veered to no gold low% bookskip, and made it to 6-3, where some poor planning killed me. I really really wanna be the first person to get no% hell, and I feel like I'm on the right track with it, though my no% runs are a bit varied. Some I get to Olmec in less than 4 minutes, others it takes 10.
