The first time I saw him perform was at a benefit for the Waldorf School at Vidinha Stadium On Kaua'i in the late 1990s(?). I had never seen male hula. He danced to Ka Manini and I was transfixed. It's now 2017 and I am a true follower of hula, the Merrie Monarch, and any other demonstrations , such as the annual lu'au and ho'olaulaea put on by the Ke Akua Mana church in late April or early May at Smith's. We are long-time visitors to Kaua'i.
