    Subscribed! Your channel needs to blow up like Nicole sachs or Dan buglio. We need more awareness over mind body syndrome until it becomes mainstream, I personally think everyone suffers TMS, but they just don’t know it.. Love the way you explain things. Keep it up!

    I have had this happen the last few weeks. I walked it back to a time when a few upsetting things were going on, and I thought I had worked through them, and a new, symptom started. I felt into it and gave it sympathy and thanked it and it left. Amazing!💚

    Great advice thanks. Symptom imperative has had me going through headaches (resolved) then CFS (variable still) then Pelvic Pain (resolved) then LPR (resolved) then back pain (variable still) and with a fair amount of anxiety ( sometimes chronic levels) and moving fast and oh yes often with health anxiety exasperating these mind-body concerns. It does feel like quite a rollercoaster at times, and I realize I need to get more to the root of why I feel unsafe. The issue is, when things like health anxiety and catastrophizing occurs over (otherwise normal) symptoms, as we know this amplifies it all, and so I tend to want to work on the health anxiety (and depression, which often follows too) just so I can "move on" in a way. And this seems to help, at least for the present "concern". It just seems harder/daunting to do the deeper work, which I also suspect will help with general CFS and fatigue aversion too, but maybe we can kinda do both (?)

      I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. Yes, in my therapeutic approach I tend to focus on both these area's, however everyone needs something different and it can take some exploring.

    Thanks Tanner. I really identified with the slowing it down…my symptoms really ramp up when I’m moving to fast abd even though my head says I can do it all, my nervous system not. It’s asking me to slow down and those symptoms do not abate until I listen up but sometimes it takes me a minute. Esp if a symptoms started with a physical trigger (bed change) but then get perpetuated by the headlong rush at life. Once I realise that is the message, I start to calm things down. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you.

      @@painpsychotherapy Yes it sort of frustrating because I want to be able to do all these things and not have to think about it, but at this stage I’m not able to obviously feel safe enough. It feels like avoidance but if I continued it would be unbearable. Thanks again 🙏🙏

    Thank you Tanner. This is very useful information to know.
    I first discovered TMS back in October after suffering with heart palpitations for 5/6 months. I was able to overcome these symptoms in about 3 weeks using a mind body approach. However, the resolution of the palpitations led to the start of dizziness/vertigo. Two months later, I was able to also “resolve” the vertigo, which transmuted into nearly constant itchiness all over my body. Then pains in my head.
    The symptom imperative is driving me up a wall right now and I can’t seem to free myself from symptoms altogether!

    U have a lot of great things to say, love how u just say them simply, clearly calmly and with compassion 🙏🙏. Don't u think that Mind/Body work HAS to become part of mainstream medicine - for people like me who present with 2O years of chronic debilitating symptoms with NO allopathic reason - we cannot just continue to be placed on pharma drugs, This has to stop - we must be referred to people like you for treatment/counselling/advice. Drugs do nothing but mask symptoms, make u like a zombie ie numb and make u even sicker with their oodles of sh*t side effects .

    How do you deal with overwhelming anxiety as symptom imperative?
    I’ve been doing body/mind TMS work for a little while now, mostly with reading and knowing about it, somatic tracking (pain reprocessing therapy), using a pain healing program that is super grounded in TMS. My fatigue dissipated (I was told I had “CFS” but didn’t fully agree), and my pain has moved around and isn’t of concern as much… but my nervous system feels like it’s shifted states to an activated state where I have a lot of physiological anxiety, including heart palpitations (which I’ve had before during “flares”). I had also been increasing my capacity these last couple weeks. I feel “stuck” in a sympathetic nervous system state 😓

      I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. Anxiety can commonly occur as the symptom imperative. I unfortunately cannot speak to exactly what will work for you over social media, as I don't know your case. You could check out my recent video on breathing techniques to see if this is helpful!

    I’m finally, 2yrs into this work, feeling my back pain decrease. I’m having many good days or big portions of days. But now I’m getting new symptoms. They don’t last too long (maybe a day, and then sometimes they’ll come back a week later), but I’m getting a lot of them. These new symptoms aren’t a replacement for back pain, however. I still get back pain, sometimes quite intensely and sometimes at the same time as the new ones. Is this the symptom imperative?

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  Месяц назад

      Sorry to hear about your symptoms. This could potentially be the symptom imperative, however I do not know your full case so would not be able to say with certainty.

    What about if you feel like you have excavated and journaled all your repressed emotions (I mean I literally haven’t missed a day in 1.5 years, I love it so much) and my reservoir is fairly light on and I journal daily now I just examine that day (I really love it) but still have daily symptoms. I should say I’m 80% better and fear right down but still symptom imperative in full swing…what do you think then? Does that mean that I’m not addressing things properly?

    • @painpsychotherapy
      @painpsychotherapy  2 года назад +1

      That is great you are 80% better. Huge progress! It is hard for me to speak to, as I don't know your case. However, for many people Mind-Body Healing can take a while. Reducing fear of the pain and feeling safe with emotions are important elements for many.

    I’ve heard some people characterize the symptoms imperative as having your brain “on the run.” Like you’re close to the end of the TMS journey, having communicated safety on your primary symptom, and your brain is desperate to get you to react via these new symptoms. What are your thoughts on that? I would love that to be true, for my own journey. Thanks!

Most people have pain with their mental health issues and even if they don't, this is supposed to help with anxiety /depression also. So all the other therapy is just a waste of time and $$ thanks again for being here and helping the rest of us.
