So after a few wonderful punches on a patch panel....you turn your back and what happens? Someone sneaks a loose cable into your rack....grrr. Few things on this rack to review. Lacing bars were opted out on this one as the wiring was grouped together for support. The patch panels we like to space out for client's to slide in their switches, then they can use shorter patch cables for data or VoIP network traffic.
Typically on conduit we like to include a collar or what some call a bushing. Protects the cable....installer for real just forgot.
Also ALWAYS bolt down the rack and try to include a cable or ladder tray attached to the wall. ICC sells a unit, real simple, for under $200.
