No, yeah, I really think the surfer dude thing was better for him. He sounds a lot worse in BBS and DDD. He used to be much more expressive and fun. Now I'm not sure if it's the plot or the voice acting that's making him seem less like the sneaky trolling know-it-all and more like Xehanort's asshole pawn.

He had not played at having anything over Xehanort until that point, so I was afraid they wouldn't follow up on it well, but they did, and I'm quite happy about where they're taking Xigbar's character. Rewatching kh3 scenes though, that return to old form has helped me come to the conclusion that; while it was mainly the current situation Xigbar was in in the plot that was the cause of my disappointment, the surfer dude accent was also a cherry-on-top to his character. Really makes his manipulation and playfulness more entertaining, and I do still miss it.
Watched a boss fight of this on RUclips just now, and LMFAO. Xigbar gets battered down to his final bar by Sora and his OPness, only to respond with 0:23

I always heard the "New back drop!" as "Rebecca!" or "You baka!", I ended up headcannoning that there was another heart inside Sora belonging to a Rebecca and that Xigbar was looking for her
Xigbar my number one favourite organisation 13 member. Always hated his boss fight back when I had kh2 on the PS2 cause back then I was too lazy to level grind. Now adays I will not stop level grinding until it takes just s few whacks with a keyblade to beat a boss
