The form, stretch, and practice movements at the beginning are interesting and I will definitely try this. I usually just imagine my lift as I go through the powerlift motion 2-3 x before I lift. I am a 60 year old man. I deadlift only 365 lb. At times, if feels embarrassing when I deadlift around younger guys. Thanks for the tips.
That deadlift jack looks so helpful. (Being an old man) I use the Smith machine to help me get weight on the bar and deadlift from the lowest pins possible to get the weight on. It sucks getting old.🥴

Wow, you’re a power lifter. You are so pretty thank you so much for those tips because on my job we Dead lift a lot of supplies and seafood. I work at Tony’s seafood and I can tell from the strain on my body I was picking up things the wrong way, but thank you so much for this information. You definitely have a subscriber out of me. I hate it when the bar brushes my shins...is it possible to lift the bar safely without that uncomfortable shin brush? You look amazing btw. Awesome job!
alot of people wear long socks for deadlifts because of that. Unfortunately no way around it. keeping the bar even a couple inches away from your shins cause the leverages to change fairly drastically and can put alot of stress on your lower back. also you dont have to yank the bar up and smash it into your shins. Plenty od deadlifters have a more subtle and graceful lift off and then just ride their shins on the way up
The less I think the better my deadlifting goes, body will sort itself out into the most optimal position ime. When I tried to make my back look instagram friendly I always got backpain.
SHORT arm, so CONVENTIONAL??!!! I think it’s the other way round: SHORT arms with long legs suits better for SUMO because the ROM for the lift is already decreased in SUMO, compared to CONVENTIONAL. How are long arms & short legs suitable for SUMO??!!! When the arms will be reaching below the bar height. Long arms suits better for CONVENTIONAL because the long arms helps the lifter to hold the bar easier than for people with short arms. Anyways, to each their own.
Eddie Hall doesn't have sciatica. If you do have that don't deadlift of course. This video is great though, the detail about engaging the lats is a very nice detail I still have to learn.
