Cornelia: "You did it Jack! You beat Chaos! We're free!"
Jack: "I wouldn't say free, more like under new management."
[Captain America:I understood that reference!]
Megamegamind lol
Well not really. Yes Jack set into motion the plan for Lunafras (likely misspelled) to no longer be in control of the system but he doesn't have control. He is crafting his own demise so the future is their own void of the darkness being forced into their world.
Jack Garland: I GOT TO KILL CHAOS!
Chaos: No Jack, you are the Chaos.
And then Jack was Chaos.
With a name like Garland. I figured as much...
👌🤣🤣🤣🤣🏃

Well it was either that or a Garland associated with being kicked off a cliff
I hate how everytime a game is related to FF1’s lore like Dissidia or this game, you keep fighting Chaos and destroying him over and over again before his original meeting as the final boss in FF1. Just makes the original Chaos super pointless due to the other games cheapening his appearances

It's amazing how the mainline game with the most basic and plain plot has achieve a kinda deep and even convoluted lore thanks to dissidia and now this game. Watching the origins of original FF1 be explained from the perspective of the villains and then along comes dissidia explaining that the fighter leader of the true warriors of light is actually a clone of Cid of lufenia a very important scientist from that time and place.............is very convoluted and I love it.
And not to mention that in the duodecim dissidia game for the PSP, FF1 starts right at the end of the game, where each FF protagonist gets sent into their respective universes to carry out their journey except the Warrior of Light. Why? Cuz apparently he's already in his world.
Yeah, it helps to make FF1 not so generic a fairytale story
@@themercifulguard3971 or rather the world he was born in AKA the Dissidia world is destroyed, essentially leaving him stranded in World A
and it all ties so well together thnx to the ambiguous ending in mobius where "garland" was essentially transported from a lufenian playground simulation to train "warriors of light" ala Vox the overseer, directly too the real Cornelia where he lost all memory of who he is/was and it was fate's design that he'd become Chaos :D
and even as dissidia's Garland suggests his soul born of strife and conflict will continue to endure for as long as he deems it necessary if one timeline or cycle crumbles or collapses he just jumps to the next one or has help from his pals the four arch fiends to resurrect his soul and reset the world timeline all over again lol
Are u for real?
You call this story good?
You must have low standards
This is actually really interesting rendition of ff1 story origin.
The warriors of light coming in and the song playing was so satisfying. Feel for Jack

JACK DID NOTHING WRONG!! ... well..

Wdym.. Sarah and Jack's relationship is pretty much the same as noctis and luna lol. Both sides are barely visible together in the same frame.

When I see Jack fighting and killing his friends, I said “Did fucking Yoko Taro got in this somehow?”
No this Nomura Yoko Taro is not the only insane guy who works at Square, this game edginess is basically Nomura wet dream, I mean if you looked up how the original concept for VERSUS XIII it was basically edgy version of Romeo and Juliet with Yakuza. Hell even KH has a bit of edginess just look at Yozora basically his Versus XIII never died but reborn into KH.

@@09222P Nomura was a creative producer as well as a designer. this game has his style all over it
If the story goes with what originally happens in FF1, Garland then sends his teammates; the 4 Chaos Fiends, 2000 years into the future to face the Warriors of Light, and waits for them to show up. The Warriors of Light defeat Garland, then the 4 Chaos Fiends (now in the present) send him 2000 years into the past to save him from dying. Garland then sends the 4 Chaos Fiends 2000 years into the future again, which creates a time loop that ensures that Garland is immortal, and gives him all the time in existence to fully become Chaos. The time loop is only broken when the Warriors of Light defeat a fully manifested Chaos from 2000 years ago.
However, no idea how Strangers of Paradise will do the original story with its new narrative. Basically, everything that was done was to set up and train the Warriors of Light is what they’re going for. What happens to Jack and the gang after Chaos is beaten is up in the air.
Going by the original Final fantasy.
Once the time loop is broken, garland (or jack) returned back to normal. In short this was jack and co attempts to break off the lufenian control over the world.
That’s a big “if”
@@mvodinh
Lufenians might have been dealt with by the time of the true Warriors of Light. Just their fallen civilization is left and you had to grab a few things to translate their language. One of them mentions that they originally sent Five Warriors out but they never returned. It is possible those five are Jack and co, but the Lufenian descendants never knew the whole story.
The last expansion is called different future. So likely not the case.
Aside no one is named Jack in FF1. There is a plot twist somewhere and the reason why Jack is like this to begin with.
I am so confused right now
@King of Heroes Gilgamesh that's just a old town. The live in another world and Jack is one of them, a very powerful one. They are safe and sound this world is their old world a dumping ground where they throw away darkness that infects their world so they can live in peace and manipulate it for resources.
That last hour of the game had me out of my chair and seeing the warriors being the fiends I was like " whhhaaatttt" I knew this game wasn't going to be all cringe memes
The memes are cool not cringe! You sure are lucky Jack Garland isn’t real so he couldn’t punch your sewage pipes with his crystal powers and smash it making your house smell like feces and urine….
Can you explain high level wtf happened? He was looking for chaos but then ended up just becoming chaos?
@@se4949 chaos was the friends he made on the adventure
I cried when Jack cried out "So we were FINAL FANTASY Origins, Strangers of Paradise all this time..."
From the trailer I knew they would be garland and the four fiends but the build up was done really well regardless of the cheesy beginning. Seeing the true WoL in the end was beautiful! Also Jack is the man!!
I thought the other 4 would become the heros of light, but I totes saw the ff1 prequel, and Jack was garland from ff1.
I think when the very first trailer dropped, everyone figured Jack would become Chaos/is Garland from FF1. But I think it was from official art that people began to guess and spectulate that the other four would become the Four FIends.
Indeed.
11:40 the moment Jack realized, he needed to make the Warriors of Light
Big brain move.
"you guys are so stupid that i have to create my own enemy so i can stop you"
Idk how others feel about this game, I just finished it, but I really think they stuck the landing. I LOVED it. I liked that they showed the fiends at first and then when they came up to Jack they transformed back to their normal selves, and seeing the true Warriors of Light at the end of the game gave me goosebumps!
Loved the homage to the 15 FF games with the level design, and the class system in this game was *chef’s kiss*.
They didn't "transform" back, that was just the way the scene was framing everything, Jack was probably already in his garland-armor by that point.

If they go with doing “origins” for every bad guy, this gives them a reason to do a prequel of Final Fantasy X on how Jecht became Sin while on his journey with Braska and Auron.
Not saying I wouldn't want an FFX prequel but they already explained why Jecht became Sin in FFX
@@crimsonbok you mean from the dialogue?
Zanarkand had been destroyed for 1000 years before the game started, and it was held together in a fragment of the past in the state of a Dreamworld, reliving Sin's eventual arrival over and over. we already know how Jecht became Sin. Jecht went out to sea for training, he made an accidental contact with Sin and was taken to Spira. Then he travelled with Auron and Braska, hoping to get back. Eventually he realized he wasn't going back because Zanarkand was not an actual real place (as he remembered it, obviously it is destroyed). So he decided the best course of action which was to get Auron back to Zanarkand and look after Tidus.
jecht allowed braska to use him as the conduit for the Final Aeon, killing that Sin and Jecht then being reborn as Sin. This Sin had a.. lingering connection to Tidus. It wasn't exactly Jecht in full control, but more so his influence. It's why, when the time was right, Jecht was able to get Tidus to Spira (With the help of Auron, who knew the whole plan from the start) Auron knew Tidus would end up in Yuna's circle, and that's why he made a big deal of making sure Tidus stayed with the group after he eventually caught up with them. Auron was also, already very dead. Tidus understood what was going on and when the major plot points happened, he went against the Status Quo of keeping Sin alive and finally put an end to it.
Unfortunately, the permanent defeat of Sin as a construct meant that the Dream was broken, fragmented. And Tidus (and Auron) could no longer remain on Spira. That is, until the end of FFX-2 if you get the ending.
FFX and X-2's plot and lore is very convoluted, but there is no point in exploring it because it's VERY clearly explained.
@@aegisofficial3819didnt you hear? sin is back and tidus and yuna are broken up now and are being replaced by two new young summoners 🫠

This is how it happened... This is how Jack Garland becomes Chaos.
Oooh. I didn't watched the entire playthrough but seeing what I'm seeing here, they are burrowing story elements on the creation of Chaos from Dissidia Final Fantasy as well as the "Lufenian" which I would guess is, Cid of the Lufaine? A character just as mysterious as Cosmos from the same game. Ever since the trailer and the demo came out, I've always thought that there's no way this 5 wannabes be the Warriors of Light. There are only 4 of them after all! Oh boy, right at the end, we see them. Garland then kidnaps Sarah as per the storyline of original FF1 and the Warriors of Light comes to rescue her. Kickstarting everything.
Well the director of this game is also the director of the Dissidia app game Opera Omnia. So everything is connected and they even plan to bring Jack into the roster so based on how the story went, he’ll be like Dark Knight and Paladin Cecil; and Yda and Lyse.
@@bigguy952 That is nice, but what I'm looking forward to is maybe, just maybe... a revival of Dissidia. In this exact game we get to see different iconic encounters in each FF game after. Maybe they're planning something based on this, as the game itself is pretty short.
@@floreskyle1 well with Smash Bros done, there’s quite a gap in the fighting games left behind that many companies are trying to fill with, so a new Dissidia fighting game could be possible, but I think Square Enix is going too much into new IPs and the app games that would probably warrant this. It would fit 2 but 3 is way too light hearted, plus the cast are kids.
Ffxiv is a huge nod to ff3. I got more lore from 14 that if they do ff3 like this, they use that lore as well.

@@Jylstin the former because they needed him to remember, jarring memories via trauma is a good way. the latter is simple : the Lufenians keep sending their darkness to Cornelia , by becoming it's conduit he grows stronger each time they do it, at the same time, he searches for a way to break through into their realm and get them. at the same time he decided to make the real warriors of light so if not him, then they'd be the ones to get to and kill the Lufenians or at very least disrupt their plans and Jack will have his victory, even if he dies to achieve it

Ho ho, I hear Meia's voice actor (the witch from Mobius ff) as Sophia, she also had long black hair. Got me wondering, will this link to Vox and Mobius FF? It's also pretty much FF1, they also had Sarah Cornelia, WOL, and Chaos in season 1, WOL changes to Darkness for some time and goes back to WOL and banishes despair in season 2. There is also a Garland in there, but he's more like a guide for our WOL, not necessarily a villain.
The ending was kinda awesome
....... This was ironically a pretty good story, basic and plain but for what it was trying to do it was decent enough considering only 1 of them actually gets to talk in FF1

So the real caos were the guys of human resources?
He's so sweet in the end in his first-Jack form
So in a way, Jack Garland is Final Fantasy's Talion?
In a sense, yes. But some people also saw his similarities with Gabriel Belmont/Dracula from Castlevania Lords of Shadow.
Imagine if they decided to do this retake/origin story with Final Fantasy II. The Emperor is so evil (his good side turns out to be evil) that the only way I can see it working is if it turns out the guy is pulling a Lelouch Lamperouge and actually wants the world hate him.
Now... gimme an origin for fukin Kefka's insane clown shtick....
fukin right
The inperfect artificial method the empire used to give him magic broke his mind, this experience help the empire to refine the method and the next experiment (Celes) didn't have secondary effects.
John Kefka
No, Kefka should start his story with a completely different name in the beginning of his quest, have a bunch of characters all fighting for the empire and wanting to change the world for the better similar to FF 6, only one of these many characters will surprisingly become the insane new persona known as Kefka after they decide to take on the deadly test mission to intake High Doses of Esper Magic into their body.
After the project we get to know which one of our characters becomes Kefka because after he is so damaged, he can’t even remember his name and can’t differ right from wrong, and thus becoming more twisted as time goes on and making even his fellow Empire Leaders afraid of him.
One of those characters you play as should be Gestal too.
That already exists. FF6 basically hints at Kefka origins (he was the first prototype Magitek Knight, it went wrong and broke his mind, he used to be friends with Terra in the Vector laboratories of Dr Cid)

"Golbez and his Four Fields: A Final Fantasy Farm Game"
I'll buy and play that!
Ultimecia. She really needs a backstory.
Well he did it his way
So is this a bad ending? About jack because he is not a light warrior?
No this is the intended ending. if it goes into the original final fantasy, theoretically once warriors of light beat chaos and deal with that time loop stuff, Jack should go to normal and all that and it's a happy ending. Basically him turning to the dark side is just him trying to make sure the warriors of light will be strong enough when the time comes. As the song goes...he did it his way
can't be a bad ending if it leads directly to Final Fantasy 1.
Maybe Different Future DLC it will have a Happy Ending.
@@jacoryarnett7347 probably not since this game leads directly to Final Fantasy 1 making this the definitive ending.
@@grodcoyote6635 thanks I got it
I cried when Jack said it’s morbin time
Jack reminds me of asura from Asuras wrath
19:00 "I, GARLAND, WILL KNOCK YOU ALL DOWN!!!"
Imagine Riku and Sora come to this world and defeat Garland. Garland: So, you are the light ..that I want to see for a long time Sora: That's weird, I felt bad for that guy... Riku: Yes, he basically me but more tragic...
Sadly the friend of jack is like made of chaos in another timeline and the jack kill dark manifest and then he become chaos and after it’s scene when you play the game first time so its timeloop
Is that the same VA that plays Mordin Solus? XD
No Garland Armor? That sucks
Maybe future DLC.
Hopefully
Different Future ultimately gives us the Garland armor, aka Cyclic!
