The retail park at Malcolm's yard was the site of the old Talbot/Chrysler factory. They made talbot sunbeam, Hillman Imp and Hillman avenger cars, back in the day. The building with the turrets at Rutherglen is the Rutherglen town hall and is a lovely old building. Keep the videos coming Barry as i love to see where you go next.👍
Just completed my 1st 4on and am totally 4'offed 😂 neck is knacking from checking every mirror every 2 seconds before i move... your tips have kept me right and I'm watching with a whole new outlook. The amount of times i said back him off, the air in the cab was blue lol I'm straight trunking and watching you jogging up hill and down dale brings a whole new level of respect... hats off 🤘i had to drive round industrial estates for an hour coz yard was full and i was pooping my pants, cars everywhere and no clue where i was 🙈🤢 dunno how you do it!! 😎🙌
Hi Barry always appreciated you're videos just sitting here mug of tea a few wee biccys always good to help new drivers we've all been there whether driving or apprenticeships it's good to get a wee hand,I live just down the M8 from where you were Greenock so take care percivere with the smoking you'll do it regards 🏴🇬🇧🚛🚚🎥
Definitely get on the vapes mate, id reccomend just the cheap maidens tobacco from 88 and a decent one with replaceable coils but no need to buy mega expensive fangled ones. Wouldn't bother with all the fruit flavour its minging. For certain though you dont need to quit nic but just stick to the vap. You'll definitely notice your chest clears as long as you dont huff massive clouds like those trendy people. I wish they'd been about in the 80s and 90s because im certain that several people who arent with us anymore just might still be here if they did. 👍😎
It was going to be the m6 if you look a the vosa site it still has the m6 sign, but as a result of delays building the m6 the Scottish side was ready so instead of waiting they decided to call it the m74, the old a74 is parallel for the most part, it's now the B7076 .
Twas a bloody tight gate to get into. I'd have shit myself. I had to do a similar reverse the other day getting onto a Tesco yard because the entrance gate was broken so I had to reverse into the exit gate. Typically the exit is right next to the entrance/ exit to the car park so every fucker wanted to get past me 🤪
i live in Paisley - you were told to "Turn RIGHT, go BY the FOOTBALL Stadium then turn left" you DIDNAE, you turned left BEFORE the STADIUM ...Jeez man, you had to retrace your instructions. You got out of Paisley safely, Great. LISTEN to LOCAL directions!! How did you get into Greenhil Road was never shown.
You just tipped off at jkm. Would have been funny if I had bumped into you there. I enjoy watching your videos, and im a regular at jkm. They are a great merchants for joiners. Keep up the good work.
Hi barry did you know that the a74 was originally an old roman road between glasgow and carlisle. The road was upgraded to a dual carraigeway in the 1960s. The m6 stopped at junction 44 then it was a dual carraigeway from there to draffan at the m74 junction. Back in the 1970s the route got called a killer road because there were several fatal crashes along the badly designed route. Then in the 1980s the section between draffan and the a70 was upgraded to motorway status. Then the scottish secetary had a plan to upgrade the old a74 to motorway status to the scotland england border. The final section was opened in 2008 as the m6 replacing the cumberland gap.
1:34 It is traditional when leaving Paisley to shout loudly 'Get tae fook' for good luck on the journey home and the friendly Scottish folk have assisted you with some friendly OUT signs too

For easy traffic memory, the M74 replaced the old A74, south of Glasgow? Abingdon south its the A74(M) for the same reason?
