Thanks for watching. I actually stayed away from the GT350 because of the 5.2 engine. There were a lot of issues with the reliability, (throwing rods) vibration, oil consumption and that's what steered me clear of it. I would have loved the additional horse power but at the end of the day I need a car to get me places. It's not hard to find people that had massive problems with the VooDoo engine failing after a quick google search. The 5.0 is bullet proof.

I'm not saying that they are bad engines but the early issues were enough to make me personally steer clear. I often drive 2000 to 3000 miles in a trip and oil consumption issues and early breakage issues were not something I personally wanted to deal with. I did see the the 22 Mach 1's are going to come with 10 less horses. I'm wondering if that's a something in the mapping or if they did something to the actual hardware. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Hey, do you happen to have a link to just the hardware kit for the lower splitter? I have a 2021 Handling package, but when I tracked it the first time, eventually some of the rivets came loose. I suspect they weren't properly installed from whatever dealer. It looked like the entire row of rear fasteners weren't even connected. Had to cut some of the plastic rivets so I could remove it to get home. I think the splitter itself is fine, just need new hardware.
Oh and another question, does a resonator delete/h-pipe/x-pipe make the exhaust drone on the freeway (or in general) or do the quiet and normal exhaust modes still work pretty effectively to keep drone down? I wouldn't mind something louder in Sport and Track modes, but still want it to not get annoying on longer drives.

    • @TonysFordsandMustangs
      @TonysFordsandMustangs  2 года назад +1

The hardware kit comes with the splitter. It isn't sold separately. That stated it's only 21 plastic rivets and 8 screws. You can pick up plastic rivets at most hardware stores. Just make sure you get a rivet gun for plastic rivets and that the rivets are fill the hole. The Ford Part #'s for the screws is W715060-S450B and for the rivets is W704342-S300. The same rivet is used to attach front license plates. You can check with your dealer to see if you buy those part #'s. Personally I would just buy plastic rivet gun and some rivets off of Amazon or Harbor freight this link will get size rivet you need. www.fastener.zone/products/auveco-13751-1274-ford-w704342-s300
Yes there is some drone with the res delete but it's not over the top. The car is much louder out the back. I'm on the fence if I will doing it again with the 2022. I think I will be driving through the summer and might do something this winter if I do.

Wisdom on going down in wheel and tire size to: Size: 275/40ZR19 Size: 255/40ZR19 ? Continental DWS06 tire?
Also, I’ve seen where some people go with the same size, wheels, and tires, front and rear. What are the pluses and minuses of doing that?
For street vs the massive Handling package: 305/30R19 315/30R20 (rear) CUP 2 tire. I’m thinking this larger size wheels and gummy tires will be throwing rocks all over my car. And also the CUP 2 tires would wear out super fast.
I figure smaller wheel, larger sidewall equals less tram lining and obviously protection for the wheels suspension, the whole car. Also better fuel economy.
For a car with this much horsepower and weight should I go to anything smaller than the 40 series that comes stock without the Handling package?
Also, what do you know about wheels? What is a high-quality durable light wheel that I should buy for these smaller tires?

If you don't than you have a lot more options and you should not deviate from the factory size. A lot of it depends on how you plan to use it as well. I visit multiple tracks a year and prefer the handling pack with summer only tires. I park my car in the winter so I don't look at all season tires. Uses main ones via GDI, and has secondary injectors im the intake tracts above the valves. The engineers thought of this stuff when they designed it, you really don't need a catch can.
More than 50% of all fleet vehicles in the US are GDI. if there were widespread issues with it, we would know. Right now, the only folks claiming there are issues, are the ones trying to sell you the catch cans, or the folks that bought them and need to justify their purchase...

I can see where you are comming from because vanilla GTs are excellent value. The one big thing about mach1 is the tremec MT-3160 manual transmission instead of the junkyard MT-82 and thats huge if yoant manual.

@@SanchezIR The tremec has it's own issues, but you are right that is it way better than the MT82D.

There are people that can build an MT-82 and make it bullet proof and you might as well ditch the clutch and pressure plate while it's out because those are pretty bad as well. That will cost you $3500 to $4000. The other reason I think Mach is a better buy is that "special models" hold their value much more than a standard GT. I heard the same thing from a lot of people about my 13 Boss 302. I think the prices for a Boss 302 versus a GT from 12 or 13 would justify what I'm saying. Yes it was more on the front end and way more now than I paid (everything is much more than a year ago) but 10 years from now I think a Mach 1 will hold much more of it's value versus a GT. Especially a GT with a ton of mods.

@@TonysFordsandMustangs Thats true, it will always hold more value than a GT.

I agree with you Tony, a stock Mach 1 is going to hold it’s value way better than a modified GT, plus the GT doesn’t have the nice tidbits from the GT350 and 500. Anybody who knows cars would be highly sceptical of a used modified GT.
