When I worked at one the owner was there every morning filling in catering orders and doing deliveries, very few times he was not there in doing the first shift.
As an employee for Chick-fil-A our owner is there at the store maybe 30 to 40% (rough estimate) of days. I saw a Chick-Fil-A in Belview Washington that had a line wrapped around the street from start to finish. There was also a pedestrian line out the door for most the day. Everytime I look out the window I was in awe of it.

An average person can't get a CFA franchise. They take thousands of apps a year for "ownership" and they only select a few. 99.9% of the time it is employees who want to grow up owning a franchise. I know a few of them. CFA owns the building and the land and they select the location. You have no control. You are basically their store manager with the benefit being a career job if that's what you want and a good salary. If you want a better option, get a UPS store. It was around $100k. No advertising, no nothing. Just open the doors and people will come flooding in because they have to have UPS.
The catch is you don't choose your location. You become a 60 HR a week employee for a fixed salary and you don't get profit. You don't own it. And you can't sell it. There I can skip video now and you can too
Actually, Chic Fil A never had an Anti LGBTQ stance. They said they promote Traditional Family Values. The mainstream news twisted the story. LGBTQ people protested outside their stores, but it actually increased sales in Chic Fil A.
That is their official policy. Most of the backlash was from them giving to anti gay groups, which they stated they would no longer do. "In meetings the company executives clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations, such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage." Company statement: "We have no agenda, policy or position against anyone. We have a 65-year history of providing hospitality for all people and, as a dedicated family business, serving and valuing everyone regardless of their beliefs or opinions," he said in a general press statement emailed to BuzzFeed by another Chick-fil-A spokesman, Jerry Johnston, who said the company's press statement is not new. "The genuine, historical intent of our WinShape Foundation and corporate giving has been to support youth, family and educational programs."
The catch is they own the equipment, store, merchandise, hours, everything that is done is under there control. You also are not allowed to own any other business or company and they also take a extremely HUGE percentage of your profits.

So which franchise is it that you do not have to work? Most franchise owners will work FULL TIME at their franchise. I owned two McDonalds franchises. Made about 45k a year (each store) take home. Worked crazy hours and you don't really own anything. Sold those franchises and opened a car dealership. Sold that 3 years later! Research, research, research! Find something you like to do and put your time and $$ into that! Very hard to get ahead with the franchise model!

I had never seen your franchise channel before. Very well done description (Chick-fil-A) in this case, and excellent work laying out the pros and cons of starting a Chick-fil-A franchise. Chick-fil-A has endorsed strong Christian values which has put them at odds with the LGBTQ community and everyone has an opinion. Trust me just don't go down that rabbit hole of anger and keep making great reviews.
We mentioned that in the first video - one of the reasons we got roasted :-) ruclips.net/video/uwHqezAD4fA/видео.html . There is actually no formal policy in that regard as that would be discriminatory. Thanks for the comment!
Was at a Chic-fil-A yesterday. The line of cars wrapped around the store and all the way down the street to the red light. Taco Bell across the street was empty. Don't know why.
Do you really only pay 10k to start though? There must be hidden fees like AT&T. Or are you saying you give them 10k and immediately start running a chik fila?
Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food place. Every one I’ve visited was clean, the food was great and the employees are helpful and super-friendly. Unfortunately I CANNOT say the same for McDonalds. 🙄
This is just a glorified mgmt position. No %'s, profit sharing, etc. Imagine if you were interviewing for a job and the salary is 100k but they want you to pay them 10k to qualify for the job. what would you say?
Sounds like a no risk win-win for the Chick-Fil-A corporation and all the investment risk falls on the franchise owner to sink or swim. And after attaining profitability, you are “rewarded” with a small pittance of your own financial risk! 👎

Looks like I won't be opening a Chick-fil-A ..I'm already a small business owner and base on this, (no equity) my growth potential is better than opening a Chick-fil-A, but I wanted to create another revenue stream, like opening a franchise but not giving up on my current revenue to basically become a glorified store manager
The way you explain it, a "franchisee" for "Chjic-Fil-A" is not a franchisee at all. The franchisee pays $ 10,000.00 to become an employee of "Chic-Fil-A". You also said that the franchisee is paid a % of the gross sales. That makes the franchisee a salesman. A salesman on commission usually gets 10% to 15% of his sales. JMA

I read their terms long before this video was posted. To call it a 'franchise' isn't technically accurate. It's better to call it a 'partnership.' Home company gets half the net take for next to nothing up front, NOT BAD but not really a 'franchise.'
Robert these people have small business minds they are very close minded thanks for your info you put out over the years it inspired mi to invest in a franchise very soon👍👍👍
I believe it’s because of political issues. Chick-fil-A’s conservative stance on traditional marriage. Today’s society does not allow for individuals or companies to have a stance that differs from what is sensationalized.
So their franchise model is: ChickFilA: “Pay us 10k and you can be the manager at one of our locations, oops did I say manager? I meant franchise owner”
I recently bought a 1.75 acre commercial lot in a high growth lake town in the Southeast. What kinda franchise would be ideal here? Chik'fil'a?? Ideas? The other part of the the block is going to be developed into a Ford dealership. And adjacent is home Depot and Wal Mart. 🤷♂️

@@jsp2568 its not just throw 10k at it and it works. You only have the rights to use the namesake. If a machine breaks, the OWNER PAYS out of his/her monthly gross. Property taxes, OWNER PAYS.

"In meetings the company executives clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations, such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage."
Company statement: "We have no agenda, policy or position against anyone.
