After playing Yakuza 0, I couldn't stop playing Yakuza games. Currently I'm on Yakuza 4 (I'm playing in order) but I also finished first Judgment :) It's so sad that you cannot experience again what you felt when you played first time Yakuza games.
Since the day i download yakuza 0, I cannot enjoy any game except that franchise ( i havent try elden ring, baldur gate... cause that genre is not my favorite) In fact I played straight to 6 using crack version. After that I went back and bought the whole series. Just preorder part 8 btw
An important note on Yakuza 5: some cutscenes play the wrong audio or they end before they were supposed to. To fix that GE-Proton8-24 or above is required. Edit: The latest Proton already fixes the problem, so using GE version is no longer required, just play the game without any modifications.
Funnily enough, it might be better to cap the FPS for Kiwami 2 to 30FPS anyways. There's an unresolved issue with the port where a lot of factors are affected by having the FPS higher than 30 like enemies recovering from stagger a lot quicker which makes specific combo links that work in 30FPS undoable at anything higher
Got started with PC gaming and Yakuza series through the steam deck a year ago. Crazy to think I bought the first 9 games for $63 total through sales. Must have for steam deck imo. Kiwami trilogy was like $15, Yakuza 3-6 bundles for $20, Like a Dragon for $11 and Judgement for $17. Inifite Wealth has been my most anticipated game for this year and even though my most hype parts like the Doko Island and Sujimon Manager might be or have dlc, might get it before the summer sale even though I only almost beaten Yakuza 0, Like a Dragon and just only started Judgement, so I still got alot to savor.
Same! It's on promo again, I got the 'Yakuza bundle + Like a Dragon' for the average price of a triple A game. That's 7 entire games!! I love steam promos xD
Huge testing, thank you very much my friend! I was watching at yakuza franchise for half a year with a wish to play them but dont have time for a full gaming sessions and wanned to play them on steamdeck ❤
So the fact that it says 'Incompatible with the steam deck' on their store page, doesn't mean you cannot play them, eh? Official support is only offered with yakuza 0, kiwami 1&2. I've been holding off on buying a steam deck so far because of the number of 'unsupported' games on my library.
I just started this series on steamdeck and its fun to take on my long commute, perfect game on the go but bring bluetooth headphones cause the musics chill :D
45 fps on the 90hz OLED is how I have been playing Man Who Erased His Name with HDR. Runs great. Bout 3 hours battery life depending on cuts scenes and how bright I have the screen at. The steam deck has given my game library a new life and the yakuza games are perfect for the deck. Minigames like cabaret manager in Yakuza 0 or taxi racing in 5 are awesome on the 7.4 inch screen.
Not tried on deck yet!! I’ve only ever played yakuza with keyboard and mouse haha, I unusually like to play it on my old laptop rather than my main machine, idk why
Are you playing straight from the deck or streaming from PC? How does it look and run? I'm new to the series and thinking if getting this one. I actually like turn based games.
@@markymoo22 right on the deck. it looks and runs great, it’s a fantastic modern turn based Jrpg, but can be very grindy, if you don’t mind that it’s really fun.
@@dr.chungusphd108 Thanks pal. I can play on PC through Xbox Game Pass, however I seem tempted to actually buy through Steam whilst it's on Sale. Wasn't sure if to play SteamDeck or PC with a controller. Loving the Deck, but also have decent PC too. Thanks for the reply.
Yes, you can play every RGG game (that's released so far on PC) on Steam Deck. Because that's what I was doing last year. xD Also, for Yakuza 5 I would recommend installing GE-Proton, as it has specific fix for cutscenes in Yakuza 5
Extremely excited for Infinite Wealth, but after that I'll be sad as hell to have played through the entire series with no more coming in the near future.
In a recent interview RGG said they were stoked to announce a new project this year. They produce fairly quickly so the wait won’t be long. And Infinite Wealth is set to be a beast, and their longest game to date by a considerable amount.
I think Yakuza 4 is one of those games that even if you played it after Yakuza Kiwami 2, you wouldn't have much of a downgrade. Edit: That's why I wish there was a Kiwami 3
Hi there, you skipped Judgment and Lost Judgment 😂 Also for Kiwami 2 and 3-4 you can use the Silent Patches to fix framepacing as well bug fixes The starting area in Gaiden isn't a good benchmark. The Castle coming up 3 hours into the game is a GPU killer. That's where performance just dies.
Hey! Using a capture card and a separate pc. You can record your screen on deck with a plugin, but in some updates it tends to stop working, or point a camera to the screen ;)
@@SantiagoSantiagoUpdate I’ve been familiarizing myself with my new Steam Deck and I’ve got to say I luv it but on the subject of recording I think I’ll just record it through my PC cause the plug ins seem like a lot of work to get running
I'm the exact opposite. I wanted to get into Yakuza, but dislike beat em ups as I find them mind melting, button mashing. I'm a big fan of JRPGs, so 7 was like the franchise finally opened up to me.
5:10 incorrect. Kiwami 1 and 2 released after Y0. Kiwami 1 even references (and recycles) tons of shit from Zero. While they're essentially remakes of the original PS2 Y1 and 2, they are treated more as a "DLC" to Yakuza 0 than faithful recreations of the OGs. Also I will die on my hill and say that I HATED the Dragon Engine jank. I was SO HAPPY to return to the "old engine" with Y3, and it's precise, tactile, arcadey gameplay again. It looks beautiful too.
Had the same issue, using Proton GE fixed it for me. It's basically an app installed from the desktop store, once that's installed you can choose Proton GE from the drop-down that lets you choose the proton version for a game. There's guides on how to install Proton GE, hope it helps!
I would go for 0 first, the issue of 3,4 and 5 is that after playing Kiwami 2, controls will feel weird, since those games are older, I talk about this in the Yakuza 3 section ;)
Bro im wana play yakuza 0 by a year now but all the time im going to play for a bit my frends call me to play gta rp or cs2. I think i need to say the word no more often.

This will also fix shinada's attire, otherwise you will be running around with the baseball one
Came to upvote this, I had to do this myself, easy to do for a non technical user
Ah, I was wondering why daigo talking to the taxi driver at the beginning had baseball stadium audio
