As someone who has suffered with binge eating for pretty much my whole life, teaching myself intuitive eating has been the hardest thing. But I know at some point in time, it will become second nature to me. It seems so simple but is incredibly complicated.
Oh no! I was hoping for a miracle styling technique for the hair but it’s all luck! 😅 thank you so much anyway for sharing tour story. Ps: 4 year recovered ed , I love your video , they share a success story of balance and acceptance 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Really appreciate that you talk openly about your ED experience as I know from experience of both bulimia and bingeing (for over 10 years on and off) it’s not easy. Early on when I started going through my recovery (now recovered about 3 years) I found myself hyper aware of my wording when talking to anyone about it particularly those who didn’t “get it” because I think it is genuinely one of those traumas that is very hard to verbalise and to unpack. I was so worried at the beginning of covid I’d relapse and then I discovered a love of baking and was able to basically desensitise myself to all of my past fear foods and discover balance/appreciate food in a new way. I think an openness around the topic supports those who are still in active recovery in a big way so thank you for that. ❤
Well done you for how much progress you've made, and in learning to bake too! Considering how lethal it is, it really is a part of the mental health discourse that's really overlooked. While I don't want to overwhelm people with recovery-related content, I always want to spread the message that it's possible and worthwhile! Thank you!
Loved the video. I second what you said about starting from scratch abroad.. I moved to the UK from France at 20, 12 years later I've made a really good life for myself. Very hard at first, learning the language etc, but so worth it. Love your channel ❤
This was such a lovely catch up, it's great to see how much you're thriving in Italy! Your channel has been so instrumental in helping to encourage my eating disorder recovery, and I'm really very grateful for the space you've created on the internet where it's encouraged to love food and experiment with the joy that it can bring.
Hiya Kelly! I haven’t ever commented on here but just wanted to say that you have actually inspired me to test out the waters in Italy. I’m heading off next month to live in Verona for a minimum of 3 months to study Italian but to also work remotely with my current place of employment. I’m half Italian (Neapolitan!) so I’m hoping I enjoy reconnecting to my roots 😊 So thank you again for showcasing the best that Italy has to offer, because you’ve certainly tempted me!
I’m a binge eater and a diet veteran in my 40s and I discovered intuitive eating thanks to you. Your podcasts about meaning of food and diet culture were an amazing eye openers. Any resources (books, websites etc.) for intuitive eating except the Resch book? And have you read and/or recommend Resch’s book?
I’m italian, you sound so sweet when you speak italian and I can hear a bit of an accento veneto in some words! Haha keep going you’re so good already 🌸🌸 (I wish I could casually meet you on the street someday)
I've followed your channel for a while but hadn't watched this video before - mostly because I've also recovered from an ED (it's been almost three years ago now!) and I'm still quite sensitive to when it gets mentioned. But your take on it is just... really nice and quite refreshing. I just wanted to say a huge thank you really for all of your videos but especially for this one. It's just so nice to hear you talking openly and honestly about your experiences, ED-related and otherwise. I live in New Zealand but someday I'd love to move to Scotland (which is one of the reasons I started watching your videos) and hearing you talk about your own move abroad affirmed that for me. I'll get there someday and I'm excited for when that day will be. :)
I loved this video and was so positively surprised to learn that you studied and qualified as a lawyer in Scotland @MaverickBaking! I studied the accelerated LLB at University of Aberdeen in hopes of doing the DPLP and get on a Training Contract - but have not been lucky as of yet! I am currently working as a Paralegal and I still hope to at least do my Diploma. But I totally agree with what you said in terms of it being a difficult career path to follow. Thank you for sharing with us your story!
OMG finally! I don't like coriander too sadly... tastes like soap. Love your posts! You have such a healthy relationship with food. I've been on IF for a month now and it fits my lifestyle. Love your hair!!! Stay awesome :) PS I looooove baking and chocolates!
Also really appreciate you not sugar coating the difficult aspects! Haha - my blood pressure was always through the roof before any interaction! Leaving the house was "expect confrontation" lol but most people are really lovely I love these kinds of videos, thanks for sharing!
I lived in Domodossola for two years and it was such an incredible experience. I left Italy in November but while I was there I appreciated watching your food shorts. I'm used to an insane (unsustainable) variety of foods so it was super helpful to appreciate and figure out what to make/eat while living there through your content. I am excited to someday move back there ^.^
So, basically I started following you and watching your videos because I was missing the Scottish accent (molti dei miei più simpatici insegnanti di inglese erano scozzesi) and also bc I found them so soothing and random at the same time, just what I needed during my work breaks. I just wanted to say (and whoever knows me will tell you that I probably commented no more than 3 YT videos in my entire life) that I love how you express yourself, your maturity (sembri più grande della tua età, giuro che è un complimento), your soothing voice, the way you address topics (as a vegetarian, I particularly appreciated the part where you discuss eating veggie). Mi trasmetti il buonumore, davvero, come se tutto stesse andando bene sempre. Una sorta di amica rassicurante. Spero possa farti piacere!
Amazing video, congrats on learning Italian on you own🤩🥰What type of job do you do in Italy, does it involve speaking italian with customers? Well done for all the things that you have achieved 👏👏👏
Hi Kelly Living in Southern France, so among Latins like you, I completely with the points that annoy you. Sometimes, depending if I'm in a good mood or not, that drives me nuts !
I love intuitive eating but I also have to read labels religiously due to having to practice low sodium eating, and being deathly allergic to cashews and piatachios.
Sooo... Does the law background help to win arguments with Francesco? 😁 Also; I would loooove to see you try making faworki someday (pron. favorkiee). Very simple thing but also just such a delight! (No, I'm not at all biased! 😉😁)

Sameee
It really is difficult, but SO worth it in the long term! Well done.
Ooooo just found this video still didn’t look , hopefully you’ll give me some tips on your hair cause are so gorgeous! 😍😍😍

I'm a morning person. I like to m spend time outside just in the calm nature.
I like pink.

Ah amazing!! Verona is one of my favourite cities, it's beautiful. Hope you love it!
@@MaverickBaking thank you! I’ll be trailing back on your videos for any recommendations you’ve made in the past 😊

This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and I am struck by the similarities between us! Congrats on your recovery!😊
Thank you!
Your hair is beautiful! So much volume

Should I make an all-Italian vlog soon??
@@MaverickBaking yesyesyes please!! ❤️
Well.. even if you learned Italian all on your own, sappi che hai la cadenza veneta quando parli italiano... it made me smile to hear :) :D
FIRST! i jumped with joy after seeing you’d uploaded, i’ve just had an exam and your videos always bring me so much good energy 🥰
Thank you, and I hope your exam went well!
Enjoyed every moment 💛
Thank you!
omG, sooooo TRUE, i have YET to see ONE person look good (let alone better) with botox. from the expensive jobs to the cheaper ones.
Hi Kelly
Living in Southern France, so among Latins like you, I completely with the points that annoy you. Sometimes, depending if I'm in a good mood or not, that drives me nuts !
Great video :)
Parli benissimo!! Complimenti!👌🏻😉
Grazie milleeee!

Damn! I found another crush.
Congo new subscriber here!!
I like your accent and you have a pretty face. 🙃
Very kind, thank you!
Can we know what bakery you work in in Venice? I’d love to visit cause I’m going there over the summer!
🤍
Weird describing Plan B as alternate rock but okay
Leave our boy Ben out of this 💛
Queuing in a line is a BIG deal 😐 wait your turn, simple. Have respect for the person in front of you. I got angry just hearing you talk about it. 😒
Hahaha glad I'm not alone, drives me CRAZY
She's 43. Of course she's had work done.
