In the original Halo Combat Evolved ending when Johnson and the Elite huge, the Elite touched Johnson's butt. But in this ending they switched it and Johnson touch's the Elites butt... and boy does the Elite looked surprised.

Sgt Johnson was in the Marine Corp so it is his rank However, he past that rank by quite a few and his final rank before his death was that of the second highest enlisted rank in the Marine Corp, Sergeant Major, just behind the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps is like the Marine enlisted version of a 4 star General.

This is what I love about the Elites they are both cute by appearance while being respectful and honourable warriors personality wise. Haven't ever seen a better fictional species in my life.

You know how you can tell this was 100% intentional? This is the ONLY scene that they completely reanimated from scratch. Every other cutscene just had the (at the time) current Reach graphics pasted on to the old animation movements. Hell even the way the Elite grabs Johnson is widely different.

All the animations were reworked in some fashion, you can tell with some details.
Like the Flood Reveal Cutscene, when Chief hears the noise in the corridor, you can see his fingers tap the foregrip of the rifle.

Actually false. I think all of the cutscenes were redone with mocap or something from what I remember? It's just too bad they didn't put as much effort into some scenes like they did others...

It’s not, just a joke bungie put in and a random elite, in canon Johnson had gotten on a pelican after his encounter with the flood with a few others and got off the ring until chief came after the ring blew up, Arbiter or Thel Vadamee was on his ship watching the ring explode

My theory is that that elite is Thel ‘Vadam (the arbiter) and they survived in the cold vacuum of space by making sweet tender love until they both got rescued by the chief and Cortana in the long sword. This scene was just a funny joke by bungie. Johnson was no where near the autumn whilst it was exploding. He managed to escape the flood and got a pelican to safety. Man when they knew they were gonna die they instantly supported each other. Sucks it had to take that to get to that point.
He didnt die there, somehow the elite saved his life. Thats why that same elite was turned into the Arbiter. He commited a crime for saving Johnson's life and letting Halo get blown up.

Well, if you look carefully, that elite is the arbiter (before getting branded), I'd say they both survived in the same way, that way being arbiters ship beaming them up so that they can punish arbiter, johnson, while holding arbiter also got beamed up and managed to somehow escape the ship because he is invincible in halo 2.
In CE Anniversary, it's the Elite who says 'this is it baby', while Sgt. Johnson answers 'hold me'.
