I assumed they would be travelling to Tunguska, Russia, if they want to search for the "World's Most Famous Meteor" (or Chelyabinsk if they wanted to search for what is probably the second most famous).

That title is put there by Spark, not the Meteorite Men show.... the actual episode title is 'Gold Basin' & it's mentioned during the show that it's one of the "most famous meteorite _falls"_ because it's so well documented by scientists. Just Spark misunderstanding the show. Also this show was filmed _before_ Chelyabinsk occurred... the Meteorite Men do actually travel to Russia for an episode to hunt for a different type of rare meteorite, but Tunguska isn't worth it for them because the meteor vaporized in the atmosphere. It's a difficult place to access just to get photos of flattened trees!

The metal detector sounds like either a goat or a tauntaun. Lol.
Now to the main thing I find it extremely annoying that state parks tell people what they can or cannot collect as if there's not literally hundreds of millions of samples already available. Let me keep what I find for crying out loud. It's a worthless rule that sucks the fun out of anything.

Perhaps it might have been useful later in the evening... if the mineralogy of the meteorites meant they cooled at a different rate to the surrounding terrestrial rocks & soil, you could wait until after sunset for the maximum differential to be achieved. Just need to hope that point is reached in the early evening before it becomes frigidly cold & you're stumbling around in the dark with torches!

I found a meteorite big one I just don't know how to classify it. It falls with a big bang and we search it the next day and found it shinning. We kept it for sometime since a lot of people are looking for it even the govt agency is after it they are saying it's a very rare and even offering thousand of money just to locate the crash site. We're just a poor family and want to sell it to the right people in with the right price. According to what I know from research it's called carbonado Black diamond. But it's just a guess from vlogs I watched. I need a lab to classify it but I don't have the finances . If you guys can help us. I'm looking forward to your answer regarding my inquiry. Thanks 🙏

My meteorite is almost completely non magnetic except for the face and back. If it is mostly iron it isn’t a ‘Rare’ or famous meteorite. 99 percent of meteorites are SUPER magnetic. Only 2 percent are hardly magnetic and most of those are/were planetary bodies.

In the first few minutes, the video shows the guys riding in a pickup truck on an unpaved road and they hit a bump and both let out an audible, "Oww!" It reminded me of driving around in Cincinnati. I don't know where those trillion dollar infrastructure funds are getting spent but it's certainly NOT going to paving roads. Not in Cincinnati, that is.

I think you should tested the heat camera at night..I don't think a object would really increase more than the ambient temperature,,but different things hold and release heat differently..maybe in the evening as the stone and metal have started loosing heat it would be possible to see a difference...also why u guys never use a drone with a magnet hanging off?

Visited my old friend near Grays River Washington, near the Columbia River, talked about his elk hunting, said he had a Swamp near by that magnetic compasses wouldn't work, local said a meteorite had hit the Swamp back in the 1930,s it's still there but to hard to find, or dig. Most locals are farmers don't have time to explore.

I saw what I believe to be a meteor two nights ago. I don't think it would've made it all the way to Arizona. Likely well short, perhaps Joshua Tree or thereabouts. I''ve got it on video but don't know where to upload it to get the ideal audience. Figured this was as good a place as any to start poking around.

You need to know what you are looking for. Takes a lot of practice to be able to discern a meteorite from an earth terrestrial rock since many meteorites have been on the ground for sometimes thousands of years.
But to answer your question, can I make a living from from finding, buying and selling meteorites. YES
