    I'm 16, and worked my butt off to be able to buy this car with a little help from my parents. I've never been happier with a car and though I've had it for about 7 months, I really can say that it's a close to perfect car. Very fast, yet controllable and very luxurious. I'm thankful for being able to have this car as my first and I hope to have it for a very long time! Great review

      I know this comment is pretty old at this point, but I just wanted to say that reading this honestly gave me some inspiration. I'm 17 and I've been working for the past 8 months to save up for my first car. I'm saving for a 6th gen Accord or a 95-99 Maxima and I'm pretty close to being able to buy it. I've had a few hiccups in my savings, but I'm getting closer and closer and it's nice to see that there's someone who actually accomplished a goal that's similar to mine. (Sorry to give my entire life-story on a car video lol).

      +Ryan G i'm in the exact same situation. i keep looking for cars within my price range.. looking at all the options and keep coming back to the Maxima. I think the Acura TL is a bit better but it's also more expensive for current generation. what did you end up buying?? If you got the Maxima, how do you like it?

    • @ryang9425
      @ryang9425 8 лет назад +12

      +dan428 I went and got the Maxima bro. I think its the best car u can get for the money. I LOVE IT, its really quick, you'll get to 100mph w/o even noticing. Only draw back was the bluetooth is only for phone and not media. I think this was changed in the 2010 model tho. I bought black but white looks the best imo. If you get the panoramic sunroof w/ the white it really looks amazing. Interior is the good and comfortable. Get comments on it all the time. The bose system is amazing also.

    • @bluestarkad17
      @bluestarkad17 8 лет назад +4

      +Ryan G I was stuck between getting the maxima and the TL also..I ended up getting the maxima because it was a better buy and had almost 20k less miles on it than the TL I was looking at but the TL was about 4k more..I ended up getting a 2012 maxima with the limited edition package...mine is white with the smoked rims, tail lights, and smoked headlights..I could do without all the other technology that car manufacturers stuff inside of cars but for the life of me I do not understand why nissan did not give us bluetooth streaming audio on all maximas...I think u have to get the tech package on an SV model to get that..not cheap either..either way I love the car, especially in white...if the car wasn't white it probably would've been a deal breaker...white cars imo just have a clean fresh look to it...hard to explain lol...my favorite part about the car would probably be my HIDs...really makes the car look that much better

      After finding out about the cvt transmission I sold it for a grand more than I paid and bought a cheap 2008 Crown Vic interceptor. Rebuilt the air conditioning completely and haven’t looked back 🤣 Cheaper insurance since I already had an Excursion and Goldwing on it. Hauls ass. Traffic gets out of the way. I get to work 8 mins quicker. I’m slowly adding more performance parts. This vehicle has been more fun playing with than the Nissan ever was.....

    Last "real" Maxima was the 2003, which I own. It weighs a lot less, handles great for its size, has heavy old school hydraulic steering with good feel, powerful brakes, has spectacular acceleration and merging power with the 6-speed and yet it has a bigger back seat and trunk, heated seats and steering and most of the amenities of the newer models.

A few things I want to mention: though I've owned Maximas in the past, and am considering this 7th gen. for purchase, I agree that in its current state, it should no longer wear the 4dsc; that moniker should be attached to the M37/56. @VenturiLife 4 года назад +1

      Be careful you don't grenade the CVT.. they don't last forever. 180k km is average. There are some known issues there, pump and pump valve, and thermal sensor for the CVT, and you MUST use Nissan's CVT fluid which costs about the same as HP Printer Ink. :) (Well it's more expensive than most and cannot really be substituted). Service interval is 40k miles fluid replacement, and worth doing the filter at the same time probably and gives you a chance to see if there is much wear going on.
      The cooling system of the CVT can be very unusual on some vehicles with a shared coolant / CVT fluid radiator.
      Drive it with care, and don't launch it all the time.

    i love my 2010 sv w/ sport package my only issue is that it did not come with the technology package so no bluetooth music or interactive screen. only other issue is i wish the sport package came with a 6 speed manual, the 6mt swap is worth more than the car itself so i cannot justify 10-15k on a swap lol. love the car otherwise

    I just purchased a 2013 maxima sv premium. Love the car and this is really a great informational video. In sport mode, it is definitely has alot more pep than my V6 2013 mustang I traded in for it. However, the V6 mustang 0-60 is 11 percent faster. And yes, the altima is faster than the maxima.

      +Redline Reviews I know most ppl do not consider the maxima to be a 4DSC, but I do not think it is hardly a family sedan either...that's what the altima is for..that she max is almost a 2+2 car with that cramped back seat...far from anything family oriented...

    • @VenturiLife
      @VenturiLife 4 года назад +2

      It's regarded as an entry-level executive sedan, pitched more at the business person / professional, but obviously some end up as family cars. They wouldn't bother putting a "sport" mode on the car and tuning it up if it was just pitched as a family commuter.

The take off is kind of nice, but if you punch it @ 40-50 miles an hr, it's very mediocre. The RPM's go up, but it's like it's not in the right gear. Are there any performance mods for these cars???

    The Maxima handles better and has a better feel to it, I've owned both. The V6 Altima is a little faster but not much and that's only due to the weight of the Maxima. When the new Maxima comes out it is going to be so far ahead of the Altima, and it will make it appear dated. The Maxima's interior is far superior in fit and finish in comparison to the Alti but both are comfortable. If someone was to offer me either car, I'd still chose the Maxima despite it being slower, it handles better and it just feels better.

    The Maxima stopped being a sports sedan when Nissan got rid of the 6 speed manual transmission. While I wouldn't mind owning a Maxima, Nissan really needs to offer more transmission options. Honda offers CVT, a regular automatic and a 6 speed manual for the Accord. Toyota offers a 6 speed automatic and a CVT. The list goes on and on. We need more options.

    • @ReelCinnemonProducts

      ***** If you go onto the Maxima forum, there was a guy that found out that the newest VQ35DE engine with CVT can be bolted up to a 6 speed manual no problem. Look up the 5.7 gen Maxima. Maybe someday someone will modify the 7th gen Maxima with the manual transmission.
