I wasn't aware of this bug either, I've only just bought an ST-E and installed GEM 2.06 a few days ago. Not had the chance to try it out yet.. will do tonight :).. Bought an Ultra Satan this week too that arrived on Wednesday looking forward to trying that out :)
That's interesting! Wasn't aware of this bug. I have TOS 1.62 in my STE but have no problem with double-click with my Logitech MX518 with USB-adapter. I think I also used an Atari mouse some months ago also with no problem. Yes you have to click quite fast but way not that fast you showed it in the video! And yes, although I use another CPX-module called MAUS.CPX, the set value isn't saved either and always stays at 3! 2 would be slightly more comfortable, but I can live with that.
I'm using a MX518 too but the mouse pointer moves really slowly, changing settings in control panel doesn't seem to do anything, any ideas? I'm using a mouSTer with latest firmware.
@@jinxterx Had similar problems in the beginning with my MX518 and mouSTer. Not sure anymore if it was too fast or slow with default mouSTer settings though. You have to copy the MOUSTER.INI to a USB stick (will automatically be done if you connect a stick to it while it is connected to your Atari!) open it with a text editor on a PC, go to the [mouse] chapter, search for a parameter called "microstep" and change value there (here I use 3, but it depends what dpi settings originally were programmed to the internal memory of your 518!). Save the file, put the stick back into mouSTer (Atari running of course) and the file writes itself back to the unit automatically! The MOUSTER.INI is the most important part of this adapter for evry configuration, but you probably know that. 😉
@@TPau65 Ahh! Excellent, thanks very much! :D I'll check the .INI file. The MX518 seems to default to 1600 dpi, in linux anyway and doesn't seem to retain any settings. It's an older MX518 revision..oh wait..I just noticed (looking underneath) it's an MX500, lol..! The MX518 is my other mouse...! But I did try it on the ST first :P Ok, it's an MX500 but it's the same thing practically :D I'll try microstep 3, cheers! :D
Finally, double click issue on my ATARI 1040STe is fixed by upgrading TOS to 2.06 TOS 👍

before I found about this bug, I tried three different mouses, and they all behave the same way
