I do that with the captain in the end game. I let them steal from me, then as a “last ditch resort” I claim captain. They always call me out and I win

Yes but Alfredo is like that in general. However in Things to do Halo 5 Reaper. Gavin clearly states that Trevor is generally a normal person until he is on video.

Them forgetting makes WAY more sense.
Honestly I feel it added a fair bit to the game - otherwise Turn 2 would have already started with Assassinations instead of the (IMO) hilarious Duke banter...

My play group doesn't start with coin either. It's definitely an optional rule.

Jeremy's sacrifice led to the fall of the hierarchy. Then all the Captains perished, save for the one under his control. With no Dukes running things, Jeremy used the Captain's influence to impose taxes and tariffs on his competitors that prevented them from seizing power. In reality, the state already belonged to Jeremy; but once he had the money and eliminated the other two he owned it officially.

Jeremy is so good at lying because he is smart enough to take control of conversations and lead discussion. People naturally believe the one describing the situation as a whole, and he does that for the entirety of this video and most others. It is very clever, you guys need to catch onto him

I agree, but with the the name including Hitler I think it might not go well with RUclips's algorithm. Also even though it's a game, the theming might have a bigger backlash than people expect. People get unnecessarily angry/upset about the most innocuous things now. I might be entirely wrong with the reception, but these are factors that have to be taken into account nowadays.

Technically you're playing the Ambassador wrong. You're supposed to draw 2 cards, look at all your cards, then discard 2. You can get rid of any, not just an ambassador and also people won't know whether or not you kept the ambassador. Although the way you played wasn't bad. You could just have some more strategy the actual way.
I don't know if you know this or not but you can have more than 10 coins. You just have to coup if you start your turn with 10 coins. So you could have 9 then Duke and have 12(you would have to coup your next turn)
You also aren't allowed to block on someone else's behalf. You can only block an attack done to you.
Other than that I loved this video.😊
They started playing the Ambassador that way in the 2nd round (or at least Geoff did), and it definitely makes it a much more useful card.
Alfredo also misused the Ambassador to block Jack's Captain steal from Trevor in the first round; only the "defending" player gets to counter.
Yeah, I felt a bit bothered enough to research the ruling. Kept watching, keeping track of the moments card information was 'accidentally' revealed... and the being able to block on someone else's behalf seemed to add a little something extra to the game/video.

Great video. Jeremy's play at the end was hilarious.
They flubbed a pretty major rule, however. You are *not* allowed to block stealing (Captain) or assassination against someone else. Only the target can block. Otherwise, especially with 6 people, Captain and Assassin would be useless until the very end of the game. That would have made a huuuuuge difference. The rule is there for reason you saw in this video, otherwise its a predictable Dukefest until there's only a few people left.
I'd love to see the next Coup playthrough with the correct rules, I think there'd be a much more interesting range of plays.
On one hand I agree, but the other I disagree.
With the rules as standard as they are, it's more strategic, and so you must rely on yourself to be able to deduce all the roles present in the game. With the current rules, it's more social, which can make for a more entertaining video, but not necessarily an accurate playthrough of the game. At the end of the day, it fully depends on whether the game wishes to be played intellectually or socially, with both having their own benefits.
Lmao, Trevor and Alfredo are somethin’ else. I enjoy watching how weird they get.

Been watching old let's roll's while quarantined and it's so great to see Fiona join the gang.
"The dukes are all dead" is the new "God is dead".
The best part of Jack's elimination in the 1st round? You can see the 3rd Captain in the pile when Geoff shuffles and puts it down. So Jack's challenge gave Fredo the card that killed Jack.

To all the folks saying they’re playing it wrong... well sure. But in most games of this nature, consistency is more important than strict adherence to the rules. The three big things they did ‘wrong’ were no starting coins, ambassador swapping and blocking for other people. The first two just changed game balance, in that duke card became better and other cards worse, and the ambassador mistake just made that card slightly worse. But with all of that, as long as everyone’s playing the same game, then all’s good.
As far as the blocking for others thing, it just increased the political angle of a game that is already partially about politics. I actually like that change, and reminds me of the expansion, which allows directly for these shenanigans. However, unfortunately, it was a bit awkward in this case, as the twins’ hugbox was unpleasant for the others to play with.

I've been rewatching a lot of let's roll, and this is still one of my favorite ones they played. I introduced friends and family to this game and it's one of there favorites now too. They always ask to play it when I hang out with them.
Played this game all the time with my friends on summer break. Makes me all kinds of happy to see ah play it

If Jeremy coups Trevor, Alfredo wins
If Jeremy coups Alfredo, his Captain can keep Trevor from having 7 Coins while simultaneously using the stolen Coins to reach Coup money and win
Jeremy chose to finish off The Sauce, and his Captain (he did actually have a Captain) then aided him in finishing off TreyCo (who accelerated the last eight turns because he knew Jeremy had him), claiming the game for Rimmy Tim
