    This has got to be among the best of boat reviews anywhere on the internett. Impecable editing and general quality. Your personal relationship to the owners makes them open up. Their ease of opening up is evident and makes all the difference in the world. We're presently looking or a good Taswell and this video provides a wonderful reference! Well done! Greetings from SY Huldra in Norway.

    Really enjoyed the boat tour and especially how respectful they were of each other, allowing each to speak without interruption.

    Ok that boat is gorgeous. Everything sparkles. The wood work is pristine. The engine looks new. I love seeing equipment that is well cared for.

    Thank you for the boat tour! We own a sister ship, hull #55, named SV MAHI, and was amazed by how many similarities we had- down to custom hinging mattress, two 360 watt solar panels, and keel cooled 12v fridge and freezer. Differences are a bunk bed in the forward berth, pass thru Galley, and the salon arrangement. Funny- have been talking about adding an electric winch.
    SV MAHI is in Rio Dulce, Guatemala now, but may our paths cross in the years to come.

    Well I can understand the boat envy. What a beautiful ship she is. Thank you for sharing.

    Once again, very nice people to cruise with sir! Their boat really is beautifully built for the cruising lifestyle. Loads of room and having the second forward head is real convenience. When they Do have guests aboard, I wonder where they put all of the "garage" stuff that's there when alone? Looked like a massive amount to me. The salon and galley also were designed with the cruiser in mind. All of the wood work was so lovely , with great fit and finish. I can see why you might have just a bit of boat envy.

    What a great tour of this awesome boat. And the sailors seem to be people that you would love to be friends with. I'd make sure to track them down and come and hang out for a few days in the "garage" :-)

    Great tour! It's amazing how much the Taswell shares with my Hylas 46 (1997) with regards to interior woodwork, ports, and doors, etc. Thanks for sharing!

    I had to laugh when she said we're not the paper chart type. I grew up in Annapolis Maryland and my father being a naval officer insisted we learn proper navigation. I think I was 12 and my older brother 14 we got caught out about 55 miles off the coast and our mast got hit by lightning one night, all our electronics went out, which wasn't much at the time in the '1960s. so the next morning we took our sextant out figured out our position plotted our course back and made it back without issue. My dad just smiled. Never go to sea unprepared. If you can't fix your position without electronics good luck with that. I also see many RUclips sailors who never keep a log book. Duh, do you know if you are in foreign waters and are involved in an accident of any sort the first thing the authorities ask is to see your log book?

    In your galley consider putting an adjustable rope line with a snap clip on one end and attach the other to a ring attached to a wood structure. Just unhook it and reconnect the snap in the eye and you can lean back and have the use of both hands without bracing when in a moving sea. It's really helpful and simple. Just a thought

    Where are these racing stripe regulations written down? I am curious because I am wondering if two racing stripes are more efficient than one

    • @RH-lz3om
      @RH-lz3om 5 лет назад +4

      Known fact, Dan. Provided the overhead underhang ratio does not exceed 254.31, you can go with two. I had two on an old boat once and it went so fast the bow fell off.

    • @daneatherton7886

      @@RH-lz3om WOW that horrible. I hope your tow boatus was paid. I had that happen once but reefed my jib outhaul just in time so the bow was just bent and didn't fall off

      @@RH-lz3om had the scariest dream last night: a guy had measured his overhead to underhang ratio and figured his boat was six inches to long, and cut his boat in half and removed the 6 inchs. He then wanted me to help him stick it back together. If I had been clever in my dream, I would have given him your email but instead I just felt guilty and woke up
