1980 CJ5 master cylinder,no proportioning valve worries and is correct bore sizes for old jeep weight... Plus they're very cost effective, bolt it,rod and pedal in and let it roll...
PLEASE! upload as much content as possible, i was subscribed to MT's channel but since i'm from outside USA the service was cancelled for me, it will only be available for the U.S. and Canada
@@Archangel1130 no comments, no quick rewind button, terrible buffering because international server. Have to keep paying if I want to watch it years later. Can't watch at friends houses....the list goes on
So glad you're doing these Fred! MT have totally shafted us here in the UK so I can't watch anything anymore except old episodes on RUclips and now this!
I worked on a 4.3 vortec once that was stumbling and just not running right after the spiderweb injectors had been replaced. The fuel pressure regulator was not seated fully from the company who remanufactured it.
Awesome build!!! I love what you have done with it! The look you are going for with the big tires and not an aggressive suspension lift came out really well! It gives it a cool hunkered down ready to wheel over anything look with those big meaty tires! Best flatfender Jeep that I have seen/ know of! Cool to see the changes from the main stream that you have used with the air bag suspension, the Chev. V6 with it's cool looking intake manifold and all the rest! Keep up the great work and we look forward to the next up date on this one!
Also just an fyi.. late 60s mustang gas tanks fit perfectly between the wheel wells in these old military jeeps. I couldnt bring myself to cut the floor out of mine to french it lower quite yet but seeing these videos gives me ambition and ideas
Loved the build, you nailed it , can't keep building the same thing over and over again. Hope we get to see this one once you get everything upgraded and fixed . Thanks Fred for all you do. Love you on dirt everyday and glad you have a youtube channel now that the show wasn't picked up.
I never really enjoyed the zany builds that you and Dave did. I always liked the more down to earth stuff. I loved the episode where you guys bought a junkard YJ, got it running and went wheeling......that's the stuff I like.
Subscriber #874 yay !! So glad you are doing this . I loved the extras. So bummed that they stopped having new ones . But love that you are putting them out 👏👏
Yo yo yo this is a good day! I finally was blessed with a recommended video by the RUclips lord’s algorithm and found your channel! I’ve been stuck on the motor trend for some of your dirt everyday content. But now!!!! But now!!! Lol just wanted to say I’ll be watching 👍🏼
Nice! We have a ‘48 with that same drivetrain. Same front driveshaft issue. 4 wheel disk brakes and stops on a dime. We used an Astro Van hydroboost setup and master cylinder. Stops better than my FJ80!
On the master cylinder problem: Machine shop Sleeve the Tri bolt mount master to 1” front brakes on one side and sleeve the other side to .75 for rear brakes. Wilwood has a dual master similar to what you already have, spec 1” one master front, .75” for the other side master.
Awesome video! I'm in the same boat as you with the brake situation. I bought the hanging pedals from Advanced and then went with the Brennan's garage kit. Im still running a manual transmission so I have to find a brake and clutch master cylinders that will work.
hey Fred, if it's running good at low rpm and falls on its face on the freeway, look at the fuel pressure- hook a gauge up to the fuel pressure and drive it at high rpm and load. you might have a pump that cannot provide enough fuel flow to maintain the fuel pressure required for the higher load fuel demands of driving it on the freeway. also, if it's a newer engine with an OBD2 diagnostics connector, get a cheap handheld scanner that can also show the data stream from the computer. in particular you want to look at the fuel trim(s). if the short term and long term fuel trim goes to +15% or higher under a load then you also more than likely have a fuel delivery problem, or if the fuel pressure and flow are good, if i remember right from the episode, you have an aftermarket system with a custom burned programming, it may be programmed with an incorrect fuel map for that rpm/load.
Fred, try a military wrapped spring from Warn black diamond, (if you can find one) or BDS, the double main leaf helps control the axle wrap in my experience with a spring shackle reversal.
And they now make a timing cover for the vortec that has a timing chain tensioner to help with timing chain deflection, also use the double roller pre-stretched chain
Hey fred i have simalar brake issues in my gpw..built similarly, kinda ...ill tell u that scout calipers in the front and home brew early cherokee calipers in the rear and a 1 1/16 Corvette master is not quite enough fluid flow for a solid pedal.. i feel like a 1" one might be good size to start with..i suggest making the jeep accept a normal style master cyl thats easy to get at any parts store
Fred this is great. The extras helped keep me sane between DEDisodes. Are they going to get you another show to do like faster with finnigan? We'd watch it. I don't do the drama in a can shows is rather watch more like the core shows ded, roadkill,rk garage, hot rod garage, and the like.
Hey Fred…. Look into vanco power brakes. I just put one of their hydro boost setups in my 75 cj5 with an LS swap and a th350 trans… oh my god I’m in heaven
I’m a big fan of flat fenders to the point that I’ll probably change all other Jeep’s to a flat fender design….. but how do thay run off-road? Dos the short wheelbase created problems?
Hello fred . My name is john . I'd like to ask you some questions Regarding a Dana 80 rear axle. How would I be able to found the strongest axle shafts along with a strong Differential for a Dana 80.? what company would you recommend i get a hold Or get in touch with ? Thank you for any information Fred love the channel and dirt every day
This may seem like a dumb statement, but... Is your custom gas tank vented? I was wondering if your "Vacuum leak" is actually due to fuel starvation because the system is unvented?
Hi Fred, I'm thinking about a four link for the rear of my yj,really liked your air bag setup, if you did it again would you use air bags or would you go with coils
awesome, i can’t get enough of you and dave, on dirt everyday i always wish they were longer! Have you guys done any shows or build on the jeep cherokee xj’s? just got one trying to get on the trails on the cheap any input or future shows with these? I know unibody not great but everything on frame is getting so expensive, had to jump in somewhere.
DED episode idea? Compare 15" UTV tires to 15" truck tires for auto off-roaders. Maybe use 3 different vehicles; something as close to 2000lbs as possible, something around 3500lbs, and something 4000+lbs(I mean, we gotta have some entertainment in the episode; and, what if they DID work on a rig that heavy...) to try to find a limit. Could even make it REALLY interesting and run an ag tire too, even though they're kind of extreme beyond extreme...
I want to build one of those, I’d have to stretch it at the door opening to fit in it and do either a VW TDI or that V6 LS motor, has anyone done a IFS and IRS in a flat fender? I was thinking an explorer front and a mustang rear for the independent setup
Awesome Fred, I was wondering where the extras went, glad to have dirt daily’s now!
1980 CJ5 master cylinder,no proportioning valve worries and is correct bore sizes for old jeep weight... Plus they're very cost effective, bolt it,rod and pedal in and let it roll...
I am glad you have a channel Fred. Just watched the 3 wheeler episode of DED and I want my old 3 wheeler from my childhood back now badly
PLEASE! upload as much content as possible, i was subscribed to MT's channel but since i'm from outside USA the service was cancelled for me, it will only be available for the U.S. and Canada
Another reason they can get trucked
Get a vpn and change location to USA.

Glad to see starting this on RUclips.
Love it Fred!!! Glad we get to see you daily again…you always have interesting stuff going on👊🏻👊🏻
So glad you're doing these Fred! MT have totally shafted us here in the UK so I can't watch anything anymore except old episodes on RUclips and now this!
Watched this while I was working on my 46 2a. Love it! My favorite project you’ve done

Love it Fred. Miss the extras and love seeing inside the builds and getting a personal touch to them from you.
Such a rad little Jeep!
So nice to see you again! Got out of the radar since MotorTrendOnDemand is not available outside US...
Like everyone has said, thanks for bringing these daily tidbits back. They were deeply missed.
Thanks again, Mr Fred!!
🤟😎🤘
Loved the build, you nailed it , can't keep building the same thing over and over again. Hope we get to see this one once you get everything upgraded and fixed . Thanks Fred for all you do. Love you on dirt everyday and glad you have a youtube channel now that the show wasn't picked up.
This is my favorite build you’ve done in a long time! Thanks for the behind the scenes look!
Almost didn’t recognize you cuz of that sweet mullet.😆
Thank you Fred for making another path to this type of content. A+!
This is great! I’ve learned so much from the extras, so glad to have it back even if it’s a different format!!!!
You are cohost. Dave is the host!!! 😂😂😂
I never really enjoyed the zany builds that you and Dave did. I always liked the more down to earth stuff. I loved the episode where you guys bought a junkard YJ, got it running and went wheeling......that's the stuff I like.
So good! Thank you for doing these. We all know you’re busy but it’s totally worth it for us.
Stoked for the Dirt Daily series! The GPW flatfender is awesome, hope to build one eventually.
Thanks for the education on the rear links and air bags. Gets me thinking about doing the same....
So awesome you started doing this. Miss the extras so this will be an awesome replacement. You rock, keep it going 🤙
Love all the experimental aspects and the low stance. Thanks for the content!
Awesome Fred. At least we can watch some of your content from Australia still.
Thanks Fred for doing this . I loved the dailies on MT . This is great.
This is one of my favorite builds you guys did
Digging the new show...been missing my daily dose of Fred
Subscriber #874 yay !! So glad you are doing this . I loved the extras. So bummed that they stopped having new ones . But love that you are putting them out 👏👏
really hope this blows up in subscribers. can't wait for all kinds of 4xFred content.
So....what you're saying is you need traction bars for your front axle. That would be a look.
Great to be a new subscriber Fred.
Awesome Daily's Fred! So happy to see these on the tube! Cheers

Glad your back on RUclips!
I enjoyed this just like the DE Extras. Something to watch now that we can’t get Motor Trend any more in Australia.
excited this has started! I was a religious extra watcher, so many great tech tips the show cant get to.
I’ve been waiting for this Fred for a while
Let’s go!!!!
On the master cylinder problem: Machine shop Sleeve the Tri bolt mount master to 1” front brakes on one side and sleeve the other side to .75 for rear brakes. Wilwood has a dual master similar to what you already have, spec 1” one master front, .75” for the other side master.
Love the show! Just got a set of Maxxis Razor AT 811's for my daughter's Jeep. You will have to give them a try on a project. Great jeeps as always!
It's good to see you back on the RUclips. I am questioning my Motortrend subscription because DED is the only think I watch there.
Thank you! Awesome build on the Jeep, cant wait to see more of these!
Awesome video! I'm in the same boat as you with the brake situation. I bought the hanging pedals from Advanced and then went with the Brennan's garage kit. Im still running a manual transmission so I have to find a brake and clutch master cylinders that will work.
Very cool seeing the electric e brake. Might check those out
Thank god you got a your own RUclips channel!
YAY!!! My daily fix thanks bro I've been having withdrawals 🙃
Thanks for the video. Now I need to get out the the garage.
I need this back on the trail, please.

Great to see more daily videos Fred! 👏🏻
Awesome, Loved this! keep us updated on the progress!
Where can I get the hat? And of course love the rig.
How did I not know you had a youtube? Awesome!!!
Wooooo! Thank you Fred!
American Racing outlaw 2s is the wheels on it or so similar to be out of the same casting molds...

Interco makes the most 15" rim diameter tires from 33" to 44" many widths
Hey I did something different.I put ford jeep on a 84 Toyota chassis. Works good I stretch the tub
Could you re sleeve the bore on the master cylinder to the size you want and use the matching size piston?
man it's nice to see some more DED love on youtube
Fred this is great. The extras helped keep me sane between DEDisodes. Are they going to get you another show to do like faster with finnigan? We'd watch it. I don't do the drama in a can shows is rather watch more like the core shows ded, roadkill,rk garage, hot rod garage, and the like.

Love the jeep , new sub here . Cheers
WOOOOOOO DIRT DAILIES
That 4.3 needs a carburetor for it. I looked around and all I could find was a marine application 😄 I think it's worth looking into
Nice fred..!! I missed ded extras so this is great 👍
GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This may seem like a dumb statement, but... Is your custom gas tank vented? I was wondering if your "Vacuum leak" is actually due to fuel starvation because the system is unvented?

Thanks for doing this bro.

i have 2 of the old warn 8200 winches if youre still looking for parts
Good deal man, glad to see this!

Heck yeah I'll sub to any non-motortrend channel!
I found a better setup for the vortec v6 is the marine intake

Great vid. Thanks for getting into the details a bit more. After all thats why I watch these and subscribe to motortrend ondemand
Is the frame stretched ? If so where ? Or did I miss that ?
Hey Fred, you need to get Dave to create a RUclips channel. I miss his fabrication Extras. Or create a shared Dirt Dailies channel.
and so starts Fred's media empire. In 3 years he'll sell his channel to MT or some other huge Australian media conglomerate.
What airbags did you use for the rear?
Awesome!

Fred ware is tube sox
Ya where is tube sock?
I miss being able to watch Dirt Every Day...but Motortrend hates Australia
Yep, they hate us even after years of subscription
