Ok first of all, LA HIKES ARE REAL HIKES TOO OKAY!? But also, y’all came through with some valid points about ticks and poison ivy and I was like - let’s serve the granola girlies who are venturing through the treacherous terrain! Our worlds may look totally different, but that’s not gonna stop me from putting myself in your hiking boots and trying to solve for your problems.
I’m so excited to share with you my new ✨Take a Hike Overalls✨ that I just released on @popflexactive!
These are my dream outdoor overalls…
You’ve got the functionality of the scratch resistant, water resistant fabric along with pockets galore.
But then you’ve also got the body contouring princess seams, the snatched waist moment, and the elegant curved straps.
It’s function and fashion all in one. It’s peak granola couture.
My overalls come in XXS - 3X in 3 lengths: Regular, Tall, and Extra Tall. I’m 5’5” wearing S in Regular.
I’m so happy to be expanding my hiking range! BTW - the hiking skort was NEVER a mistake (though it seemed like that to some people). I love it so much. It sold out wildly fast several months ago and just restocked, so go grab it if you enjoy bare leg hikes like me!
I’m glad you guys are vocal about your needs because it opens my mind to solving for different problems I’m not presented with in my daily life. But please remember to not invalidate anyone’s experiences because they’re not similar to yours.

Slim fit at the ankles is a lot more practical for outdoors so if you make another version of these I would love that option! The baggy bottoms seem easy to get caught on things. Also a lot of waders have a hidden zipper pocket behind the top of the overalls sitting around your chest and I’d love to see your take on that. You’re so creative and I love that you take people’s feedback into account!!

Tight leg bottoms also help keep our ticks. It could be optional! Like a drawstring so only use in tick areas?
You can use hair tie or something like that to create protection on the ankles. But its true, im also prefer slim fit at the ankles

Absolutely. Maybe a lined leg with the adjustable strap so it can stay cute on the outside while protecting against ticks, she took everything in to account but the ticks. Lyme disease is no joke. I've spent my entire adult life suffering and I'll always be in pain because my blood line carries lupus and Lyme loves to set off autoimmune disease early. I'm finally old enough that doctors are no longer assuming I'm too young and writing me off as a seeker but to get to this age so much damage had already been done. I think They'd also make decent fishing pants with the adjustable inner leg

Well, it’s considered a required quality in most fashion designers so it’s normal for them to be good at sketching or drawing when it comes to creating new designs.
i love that she’s replied to people suggestions and is so willing to remake and redesign for the perfect end result!! love seeing you take people drawstring ideas immediately and you’re so sweet about it. love love love! 💕
Extremely cute!!! But i don't think they would be as useful and user friendly as you hoped... They either need a drawstring in the bottom seam of the pant leg or an extra lining on the inside with elastic because bugs will climb up you shoes or just up under the pant leg. Also the super flare isn't very practical for things like hiking, horse back trail riding, walking in the tall grass, ect... a straight leg or boot cut version would be better suited for those of us who would use them for things.

Also jumpsuits are just not realistic either for long hikes when you gotta go in nature... Pulling down your pants as it is is annoying I can't imagine having to undo the straps and everything.

However I agree an inner leg sleeve with a drawstring would be great and you can still keep the baggy flare leg.
As a pear I I would love if you kept the baggy flare just do an inner drawstring
Agreed but also I don’t want to be naked when I have to pee when I’m near a trail that may have other people on it. I turn into a beacon in sunlight that the shrubbery will not hide

I would absolutely buy these if they had a closed, fitted ankle! Helps keep the bugs and plants out, less of a tripping hazard, fits inside hiking boots, and no one wants the dreaded wet flare pant legs of the 90s and 2000s 😆

This is perfect design, but some drawstrings on bottom for those of us who wear boots and/or prefer it at the ankle would be nice. Can't wait til you release more colors than black and pecan to buy!! I personally wear bright or reflective colors when out on a hike. Absolutely love your work and effort ❤

@@popflexactive Personally, I like to wear colors that stand out on hikes and bike rides, such as Bright Pink, Hot Pink, Neon Pink, Electric Blue etc. However, I understand that these colors may not coincide with the Popflex brand. That is not an issue! Based off of the existing colors that your brand provides, I would totally purchase these hiking overalls in perhaps a bubblegum pink, digital lavendar, crimson, sapphire or even oasis, and maybe blue storm? Reasoning behind my color selection, aside from actively using it myself, being that research shows that on hikes it is safer to wear contrasting colors from the enviornment so that we are easily visible. However, wearing bright or pastel colors can also help us remain cooler as it reflects the sunlight on hot hikes. At this point, I am just such a major fan of the design, either way Popflex decides to go, contrasting, or bright, I will happily follow!!

Really cute and for the most part pretty functional, but ticks will find a way to get into that with the fabric flared like that at the ankles, it would need elastic or a pull string or just a pair of boots to tuck into it
id def tuck it into boots tbh because theres only larger inseams anyways so this will 100% be baggy on me
Yeah ticks would definitely crawl up those pant legs. I’d definitely agree with the elastic or pull string. Or at the very least just have them not quite so baggy so you can tape them easier. No issues with the rest of the design though. Just ticks

this is my taught emediatly im looking for good & cute pants for in the garden for a while now but there is just no shape in them what so ever! also these are so stretchy i bet theyre really comfortable!
cant justify the price right now though even tho you probably will wear them for a long time..
also the colors are not really spring or summer pallette, theyre so dark so we need some lighter colors like lilac, pink, green & yellow!
also breathability is more important for me then waterproof.... as you can get verry hot in summer

Oh my god, I’m 100% buying these when she comes out with a drawstring version. These are my dream pants, exactly the kind of thing I’ve been looking for for my hikes this summer. The only question I have is about how breathable or cool the fabric is, because it gets crazy hot here and I sweat so easily 😭

The detail that sold me are the fitted pockets for the stuff I don’t want flying around like my phone + the cargo pockets for energy gels and the like.
As a running girlie through and through, I can see myself wearing this with biker shorts underneath to avoid chaffing and stuffing those pockets for a whole day out on the trail! I simply love it!!
I love the fitted pockets too!! So great for when I need to climb on ropes during hikes or when I stumble 😅

I absolutely love the idea of taking the style and cuteness of women’s clothing, and combining it with the functionality of men’s clothing! I am sick and tired of having to give one or the other up when shopping for clothes, so I always love when brands make stuff that’s cute and functional.
Speaking of functionality, when you have to use the bathroom, it’s not very practical… I do love the design though, it’s really pretty 😍 But.. it would be perfect if she’d make it a bit more easy to use when you have to use the bathroom.

Yeah there's a reason no one hikes in overalls. Overalls are for like, mechanics. Not Activewear.
Also technically for a hike I would want the pant legs to be more tight at the ankle that these currently are. Since again, you know bugs and outdoor elements.
Oh my God I'm a new mom and I'm buying these RIGHT NOW to be a walking baby bag. These are so cute and comfy looking! And I live in Idaho. Lots of people are saying these aren't practical for the bug protection at the bottom, but I think with a good pair of tall boots and tight long underwear or leggings, these are perfect. I think they're just more suited to cold climates where you would want to layer up anyways. I love them!
You know you're winning if people can find more than one uses to your product.

I work as a caregiver and let me just say: these are perfect for my job! They’re versatile and cute while still having functionality. I can keep gloves, blood pressure monitors or whatever else I might need in the pockets and the fact that it’s stretchy and waterproof means that I can bend and lift in any which way to assist my clients AND easily rinse pee off of me in the cases where pee might occur. As for hiking: I do agree that a drawstring would be a good addition, but as they are they’re perfect for caregiver and nursing/CNA work❤️❤️
When I fo nanny work, I also wear overalls. Caregiver work is a great use for these.

Thanks for sharing your use case for these items. They would definitely work for caregivers and other medical professionals. Wearing trousers is a safety feature for body fluids, so this is perfect for that type of work.

this is perfect, it’s so cute, has many pockets, and fits the needs of doing outdoor activities, amazing ⚡️💕
As an avid hiker I have to say that these overalls would be PERFECT if only they had a way to cinch in the ankles...as comfy and functional as they are in every other way - poison oak/ivy/, chiggers, ticks, snakes, and other pests will go right up those pant legs, rendering them cute but useless. Also, the wide leg will make make them easy to snag or trip whilst climbing/walking rough terrain. I would 10/10 wear these to run errands in town, but never for hiking. Make a 2.0?

Drawstrings! They can stay baggy but with draw strings at the bottom this problem would be solved while the pants continue to be cute!

Hi Cassie, I absolutely never comment, but I wanted to say I love your thoughtfulness and creativity so much! Thank you for your phenomenal work for all the women out there! I know you get some negative comments but please don't listen, you don't have to make everyone happy; keep designing clothes YOU love to wear and we'll love it too. Also don't stress about the price, I know your clothes are rather expensive but that's because you make them with quality material and pay your workers properly unlike many large brands. I can't afford anything yet but as soon as I am in a better position financially (I'm only 21); I have a whole list lined up to buy! (Definitely the Cloud Hoodie and the Super Shorts are at the top of the list but so keen to get these new overalls too.)

I’m also in Aus! I saved up for months for some items and I’m so happy I did!! Over the Christmas period my stuff took 7 weeks to get here but in March it took less than 3, so I recommend buying before or after Christmas x

OMG!!! I NEED THIS. My Dad is a mechanic and I was helping him bleed the breaks and the the hydroscopic break fluid got all over my clothes. It soaked through my clothes and got in my skin. I had to have a shower immediately an wash my clothes since break fluid has harmful chemicals in it that can get into your blood stream. Since this is based on construction overalls, these feature would be very functional for working on cars. Although this may not be functional for hiking it is great for tradie work.
Large assumption that it will make you safer for work
The overalls are made of stretch polyester. Fluids will soak through them the same as a tshirt or sweatpants. They're cute, but please don't make the mistake of thinking they’re protective!
The legs are so wide there's a risk of them being caught or snagged in a workshop/trades environment. I showed these to my dad, who's a woodworker, and he was like 'lol no I'd tell you to change'. And they're just polyester.
Please next time just wear gloves!!! They make gloves specifically for mechanics for this reason! Your health is more important than looking cute while working on a car.
These wouldn’t be useful as a mechanic myself. I prefer carpenter pants or anything meant for heavy duty work.
Cassie I LOVE this design but am a little sad that the 3 inseams don't include a short version. I know you can't do it all, but I would absolutely love it if you started including inseams for women under 5'4 too!

To make hiking + outdoor gear, brands like Columbia and North Face might be a good source of inspiration rather than construction worker overalls, as I dont know many people who wear jumpsuits or have exposed shoulders for treks and hikes.
So far your designs have mostly been city-focussed (I think!), so this would be an interesting next step, but they have very different needs and definitions of functionality, of course. I look forward to seeing future versions!
This is layerable though so if it’s cold you can just wear a jacket and leggings underneath and if it’s hot you can just wear a tank top. Idk where yall are hiking but at the trails around me people wear shorts and tank tops all the time.
Overalls are literally made to go over stuff…like long sleeves layers
It's a pretty good design since you could make it work for in city or on treks. You could add any type of shirt underneath which is good for different seasons and customisation. The only problem I see is the open bottom of the legs.

Yesss absolutely yes to the zip-off! In the style of zip-off or snap-off, a zipper or snaps or buttons along the waistline would be nice for when you have to pee so you don’t have to get naked but I don’t know if it would be possible patternwise/technically since the waist is elastic

It’s very cute I love them, I’m not going nowhere near hiking, and I do love to keep stuff in my pockets. More colors please. I think it would be great to just have them in two styles, one style with the lose fit and another style with closed tie at the ends for those of us ladies that like to hike and for those of us would just be hiking to the stores and running errands. Absolutely beautiful design. Waterproof genius.

Also, i still absolutely love the hiking shorts. They vibe cleaner trails, dog park, beach, etc. It really just depends on what your parks look like and what kind of hiking you do. I dont really go on trails with undergrowth, so id lean toward the short, but id def want the pants for winter or the rare intense hike

I think that if you're going for max protection tho, it'd be really great if the pant hem can be gathered tight to the ankle with a drawstring maybe? Or tight lining around the ankle underneath, and still have the bagginess on the outside. Did I make sense?

I like the idea but i'm not a huge fan of the wide legs. It feels like they are a bit too wide to be functional for hiking, like: i'd probably get stuck somewhere or accidently rip them. they should be wide enoigh to go over your hiking boots so that nothing touches your skin but these are too wide. and tbh i think for a few days hiking the design would also be a bit annoying because i'd have to get undressed completely just to go pee? idk, i think for a moderate hike they are cute but they dont look sturdy enough for longer hikes and the design is not really practical

I never bought from her but if I had the means I would gladly support her brand, she’s inspirational and amazing.
