Thanks for the appreciation... if there is only person in department then span of control doesn't applies to that department ..as you need a sufficient number of people to apply span of control or create hierarchy...

That will be a strategic decision of the company how they look at it... I would have considered it ... as top management will have to manage it as well

u are wrong in implications jaha apne nature of work btaya h let me correct u agr soc wide h mtlb zyda subordinates h to it's most likely ki wo job easy ho ya routine work ho or agr soc narrow ho to it's more likely ki work complicated h isiliye sirf km se km subordinate ko ek br control kr paenge or bhi bht factor h jisse wide and narrow soc determine hota h like geographical factor, subordinate ability,superior capacity,etc
