I used to be self-disciplined before. I worked hard in school and all my efforts paid off. I played piano and become really good at memorizing the songs and could play with my eyes closed. As I grew older, I started becoming less motivated in life, and my grades curved down. I was depressed, still am. I'm glad I came across this video. This is a great audiobook that I use to listen as a background music while I am daytrading. I saw this helps me stay focused, remember that I need to respect the rules and persevere while trend and market against me, restart if I fail and do again. I fought out that my main mistake is that I get out of the rule as soon as I see myself a little successful; now I am challenging myself to stay focused and respectful to the rules longer time and stay calm on both profit and loss situations although this is so tough. I wish improvement and reaching your targets with this audiobook. For me I need to listen regularly as I am bad enough and I need to remind myself regularly. So far I have listened almost a few time in full
Chapter1: 20:07 Chapter2: 47:09 Finding the purpose: macro and micro 1:13:00 Limitless wishing exercise for macro purpose 1:21:00 Picking mentors 1:37:30 Making the center piece of self discipline vision/ sensory goal statement: 1:59:00 Planning/how to: 2:16:00 Steps involved in planing 2:25:00
I had always work hard to get ahead, but then I tend to slow down once I get to a comfortable position. Then I stopped engaging & eventually fall behind. Beat myself up for awhile… then pick myself up again. The cycle repeats. Don’t make the same mistake y’all. I’ll need to stop comparing myself and take it easy. Just be humble and work hard, 1% change everyday and keep the flow going.

"Self-discipline requires a lifetime of commitment. It doesn't mean you won't develop the habit of self-discipline in a relatively short period of time, it simply means that you must always be vigilant about how you are approaching your goals and what your purpose in life really is. It's all too easy to get sidetrack in something that feels comfortable but is not what you really set out to achieve. Every small victory will become a cause for celebration and a chance to renew your faith in your own ability to achieve, whatever it is that you want in life. And as you achieve it, you will find yourself becoming the kind of person you'll always admire, the kind of person who pursues a goal so single-mindedly, so stubbornly and so patiently that he or she could not help but achieve it." 🙏🙏💪💖
I was a very strong headed girl back in my school days.I blindly believed I could do anything those days.In my teenage years I was constantly body shamed by my relatives..passing crude remarks on my colour ,my acne, my weight,my height everything. First it never affected me but somehow I also started believing their opinions about me.I found it really difficult to meet people...ended up always thinking if they are looking at my pimple scars or facial hair(a Cyster here ). I don't know how but I gradually lost all the confidence I had..I got in to medical school somehow..was a struggle...lived in the shadows of my so called friends. Deep down I knkw this is not me...I really want a start over..I want to have control over my life...and I want to be able to not give a horseshit about wat people think of me ...like before..I hope this helps.
People don't know how much the words can hurt you. I was heavily bullied in the elementary school. Now I am in my early thirties but I still have to live with the consequences of that long gone bullying. It is a sad thing to say, but I would be a completely different person if I wasn't bullied. On one hand, I would be more trusting, and outgoing while having more self-respect. On the other hand, I would be less kind, less creative and less aware of the things happening around me. I would probably now be seeing kids as innocent angels they are not, just like most people do.

02:24:51 : Visual network planning There are 7 steps to visual network planning: 1) You will write your objective. 2) You will break it down into major steps called activities. 3) You will organize the activities in logical order. 4) You will design a visual network. 5) You will estimate how long will each activity take to complete 6) You will determine what we call critical path and float 7) Lastly, you will assign actual calender dates to each activity.

I'm amazed by how many new things I learn about myself and in general, while going through this book again and again. Thank you! It's really worthwhile to spend your time listening to it. 🤜
this book is so so so so so awesome, take notes as you follow along, comeback to the note if possible twice or once in a week and see how you are progressing.. goodluck champs!
Many years ago, I decided never to give up, never to loose hope no matter what! The result of that decision has helped me to discover my purpose after many failures even when I am living without discipline. It is a powerfull decision!
This is what I really want in life and I must give up things that are not helping my purpose. Self discipline makes success possible. Quick fixes have destroyed this generation
I listened to this book twice now . After a rewarding conversation with a person I believe to be true friend . Rare friends stay in my heart forever no matter what. I realized something and I know I am doing what’s right for me and only me. The discipline of my past has made me the strong person I am today.,yes I go weak at times. One thing I don’t do is give up. I continue to discipline myself daily and the calling of challenges stepped up to God Ordained Path . True to circumstances . Forgiveness in myself and others. Honesty is what keeps me strong.
most people totally underestimate the amount they can accomplish just through discipline and practice/work. i have heard similar claims to "i would give anything to play piano like that" by countless people. or " i wish i could eat like you and not gain weight". or "i wish i had the opportunity to start my own business". its amazing to me that people convince themselves of these things even though they have been proven wrong over and over again. they will believe anything to make themselves feel better about not achieving. anything to not work hard or take a leap of faith. people truly understimate how much power they have to change their situation. its sad, but it makes it that much easier for the poeple that do have motivation and discipline
This is a very powerful knowledge to acquire because with this discipline one will reach high levels of knowledge in life I really appreciate that the creator of the book decide to share it with the world. Thank you very much. God bless you.

You stated the wrong author and the wrong link to a different book, also the book picture is neither the book written by Ray Clear NOR the audio played. Everything mixed up. So, what you hear is: „The neuropsychology of self discipline“ from 1988, written by a Standford university department, not by Ray Clear. The book cover shown is from a book written by Ray Vaden.
Yes you are right. I had heard this audiobook book several years back and there was no author’s name and it was mentioned it was developed by neuroscience dept of Stanford.
Thank you for this great book with great message and beautiful voice. It's a long journey with lots of hard work and to overcome many obstacles to get to your goal or success. But as they say: the journey of thousand miles begins with a single step. And never give up.
Fear does not always motivate. Sometimes it causes you to become frozen. Actually, I think there are multiple ways to motivation and it changes over time or the situation. Fear can also cause over reaction.
Thank you for sharing this book. I know all of my goals will come to pass. I will use all of these tools for the rest of my life. Much success to all of us.
Well having big dreams is frowned upon by peers.. "maybe you need to get better friends".. is not an answer to that.. its sad but you get much more in life when you just make music and books your friends..
Self discipline is yet another habit we must adapt and live by in order to accomplish tasks. He says the only way to achieve our macro goals is by achieving our micro goals all we have to worry about is THE NEXT STEP!! That’s it make a plan write it down break it down and every day cross out the next step u accomplished. Thru this method I now have 4 successful businesses running. We have been conditioned to be a certain way and live a certain way it has been made to seem that we cannot go further than a professional w a degree but u can u can be a business owner without one and still become a millionaire!!! Half way there going to become the first self made millionaire in my family so those that come after me have no reason to say they can’t
... As a German Biologist - I call it Life Awareness. When we see the Value of Life and Fertility - nothing becomes too hard. We accept any Hardship to go on. Then we have natural TABOOs of what NOT to do. It is a De Domestication - De Conditioning - to stay away from Temptations and embrace the daily things to do and go on. As we dumbify ourselves we run ever faster to the Abyss of Self Extinction. Like it happened on a Cosmic Scale so often. The Cosmos is chaotic and Destructive. And we LOVE that....
Guys the most painful thing that could pull you down in life is not taking chances seriously. I am a victim of doing that and believe me it is hard to get over the chances you have missed. I was in the US for a couple of years studying in one of the best universities but dropped out in the last minute. Later, moved to the UK to continue my bachelor degree and dropped out in the final year. Now, I am back home, and I opened up a furniture factory but still struggling and thinking of quitting as i go through some challenges but trying so hard not to. Please respect any chance you have in life and never think of plan B, because if you let plan A slide, the possibility of not sticking to plan B is too high since you've developed a giving up mentality.
Shout out to those working to overcome the spirit of laziness. It take time to change your attitudes and behaviours, but with perseverance it can be done.

The secret is pretty straightforward - an unyielding focus and dedication to measurable continuous improvement in all areas of concern - a business mission that applies to all our personal endeavors - when combined with knowing how to fail successfully - you should never look back and never ever, ever, ever - give up - because you will certainly win where and when it really counts; however, measured or far away...

Consistency is the key.
Personal state of purpose: I want to live life to the fullest and live out my dream, while contributing something to society.
My 3 major role models:
*Jose Rizal* - writing
*Carl Jung* - psychology
*Naomi Campbell* - fashion
Sensory Goal Statement: I'm going to finish my 4-year course in college first, then look for opportunities in which I can get into runway modeling. I'm going to audition or go to a casting call. I'm also going to spend at least 4-6 hours each day reading books or writing and make it a habit so I get used to it.

Hey the goal of Effective AudioBooks Summary is to make it easier to access the world's best ideas. We want to show you what’s critical to learn about the world, then help you understand it better than any other source. We accomplish this with crystal-clear thinking, concise writing, smart analysis, and brilliant new insights.
And as you achieve it, you will find yourself becoming the kind of person you'll always admire, the kind of person who pursues a goal so single-mindedly, so stubbornly and so patiently that he or she could not help but achieve it." 🙏🙏💪💖
Amazing 👌

I hope you got your restart. We all need one sometimes.
This audiobook narration is so captivating! It makes every word come alive
This audiobook has changed my life affirmatively forever! It's a remarkable gift! Many thanks!

02:24:51 : Visual network planning
There are 7 steps to visual network planning:
1) You will write your objective.
2) You will break it down into major steps called activities.
3) You will organize the activities in logical order.
4) You will design a visual network.
5) You will estimate how long will each activity take to complete
6) You will determine what we call critical path and float
7) Lastly, you will assign actual calender dates to each activity.
I feel you are still attached to the idea of time, let it go my friend!
-Purpose,
-Role models,
-Imagination,
-Expect to succeed,
-Self assurance, ,
-Ability to Plan and organize,
-Skills and Education and Commitment to learn what must be learned,no to shortcuts,

-Persistency (Don't give up)(Think of Ellie Hawkins),
-Get excited while persuing your goal.

I am glad I came across this book. Even now in my later part of life, I am inspired to love myself enough to do this with this guidance. Thank you!

Grow your focus, protect it, keep it inspired, and keep nurturing it. Never. Give. Up no matter how painful it is or isn’t, keep moving forward.
True Motivation. Keep going
The question that first comes to mind after reading this book is, “Where have you been my whole life?”
This must be thought about in classrooms!
You have taken the first step to be a better person than you were yesterday 🙂.
You have taken the first step to be a better person than you were 1 second ago
Kudos to everyone who is here, you chose to be the best version of yourself
most people totally underestimate the amount they can accomplish just through discipline and practice/work. i have heard similar claims to "i would give anything to play piano like that" by countless people. or " i wish i could eat like you and not gain weight". or "i wish i had the opportunity to start my own business". its amazing to me that people convince themselves of these things even though they have been proven wrong over and over again. they will believe anything to make themselves feel better about not achieving. anything to not work hard or take a leap of faith. people truly understimate how much power they have to change their situation. its sad, but it makes it that much easier for the poeple that do have motivation and discipline
This is a very powerful knowledge to acquire because with this discipline one will reach high levels of knowledge in life
I really appreciate that the creator of the book decide to share it with the world.

Thank you Rachel for the correction. I hope the contents of this audio is correct ?
Yes you are right. I had heard this audiobook book several years back and there was no author’s name and it was mentioned it was developed by neuroscience dept of Stanford.

Fear does not always motivate. Sometimes it causes you to become frozen. Actually, I think there are multiple ways to motivation and it changes over time or the situation. Fear can also cause over reaction.

It's terrible lol
Gate to here this. You are welcome.

THANKS
