I'll admit, Stef and I do both have issues with running the channel, but my issues are a bit different (more physical issues from overworking. With the mental/emotional stuff I'm totally fine).

It was weird for me to watch Sam and Maria on the Buff Summer at first, especially since it's a different dynamic than Sam and Stef, but after the first couple of episodes I really came to appreciate Maria's humor and the insights that only she can bring to the table. So it is a shift, but it's one that's well worth it to invite a new movie bud to the channel !

I really appreciate the transparency around how the channel works and the realities of content creation. I also, 100% agree with Stef, every time I try and do something creative as a side hustle, I end up wrecking the creative thing, not making work creative. Honestly, not sure how possible it is, but it would be so cool to expand the the Movie Budz family and bring on guest appearances with other friends or family to get a wider variety of perspectives. I know a lot if people are sad to see less of Stef (myself included) but I think this is actually a really cool opportunity to expand the fam!

As for tv shows, for this channel the much lower watch time would actually negate the potentially higher views. We’d have to get like twice as many views for each vid to earn as much money.
As for Maria and I’s other channels, it could work on our personal account, but not for the buff summer. That’s specifically Buffy content. The channel is literally named after that character haha.
Also trying to post content on 3 channels would be too much right now, if we start doing stuff on our personal channel any time soon, it’ll be because we’re making that the primary thing.

Love this channel and I love your dynamic. However, I completely understand that burnt out feeling. As someone who’s been watching RUclips for ages, I’ve seen so many RUclipsrs abandon their channel because they used up every last piece of themselves so it was impossible for them to keep going. This plan you guys have is going to put Stef in a better place which means the content will be in a better place! Hopefully everything will work out and everyone will give love to the new content! I know I will, as an Aussie living in another country you guys are a small way for me to not feel homesick. Sending positive vibes and love ❤️

I will definitely continue to watch. A good reaction is a good reaction no matter who is reacting. I like the reactions with Maria. It's a different dynamic and outlook. We all understand how the world works and to keep what we need to do a priority. I love this channel and it has actually gotten me through a couple horrific years I've had to endure after losing my sister and mother to suicide so thank you for all the laughs and insight to great movies! Don't worry guys, I love your content and as soon as I saw your channel I became a supporter. I think the ‘group’ idea is a great idea. I love Maria, I think she’s great. And it will open up the movies you can watch, too. I will miss Stef but it’s good to look after yourself and your health. If it’s not fun anymore, it’s not worth it.
I've been watching this channel since the very beginning and the two of you always bring light and entertainment to us. Especially during the pandemic. I love your commentary because you are kind and empathetic, rooting for the characters instead of judging them. Stef, I always look forward to your intros and love how you are always open minded (and again, kind!), sometimes male commentators are very mean when reacting to movies starring or "made for" women. It will be sad not seeing you as often Stef but do what's best for you! Burnout is no joke. The strain it can have on your mind and body can be severe. I've always hated the phrase, "if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life." Yes, it's important to love what you do and it can help alleviate some of the pressure, but it will still require hard work. Honestly, I've often found that it's the people who love what they do that work too hard because of their passion. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself Stef.
